5 Jaguar / IX – Lessons of Love

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

Born with a deep love for Mother Earth, Jaguar/IX directs our attention to the Natural World for a Lesson on Love. Jaguar guards the High Holy Places where Humans bring their offerings of Love. The Jaguar moves in stealth. Under the cover of darkness Jaguar is capable to see the Light of Love that emanates from every living thing.

Jaguar energy is feminine in nature and the ruling Force of Spirit throughout the jungles, plains and mountains. Known as the God/Goddess of gratefulness, Jaguar would lead us to a Deeper Appreciation for the gift of Earth’s Magic.

bear-tiger-lianJaguar/IX is the Day Sign of Spirit. We are drawn to experience the empowerment of Pure Love.

We are fascinated when we see Love expressed between creatures that we expect would see one another as enemy or prey. It’s a love so beautiful it’s difficult to turn away. These demonstrations of Love reveal that Love is a Natural Instinct, and one so powerful that it can override and supersede even the Natural Instincts of survival.

Love IS the magical force of Nature that is recognized by ALL of God’s creation. The power and magic of Pure Love is instantly recognizable by the virtue of its authenticity. This is the same Love we instantly recognize as a new Mother looks upon her child, or Love we can recognize when a groom first sees his bride.monkey

When we give the Love of our Appreciation to the Natural World, all of God’s creation instantly recognizes our Love and responds to us in kind. Through our Love we become One with this source of power that can return Love through every living thing.

5 Jaguar/IX would encourage us to draw our power by spending time alone in nature where even the smallest creatures can teach us something about Love. When we send our Love to God’s creation, the Love returned is magnified with the power of healing and transformation.

To all my relations, madog chitay we stop every day, if only for a moment, to authentically express our Love and Appreciation for the beauty of the Earth and for all its creatures. May we experience a deeper understanding of Earth’s magic so we might recognize the Natural World as a place of unexpected miracles, wonders, and power.

Galactic Tone 5: Empowerment. At the center of the cube we find Five. Five is an intelligent, organizing force which manages communications and materials, knowledge and application. Fives are natural networkers who gather what is needed. These persons can probe directly to the core of any situation making them excellent investigators.

Jaguar/IX: Born with a deep love of the Mother Earth, Jaguar or shaman is directly tied to the source of all Earth magic. They possess great power of intellect and strength of character through integrity. Jaguar energy is feminine in nature and is the ruling spirit of jungles, plains, and mountains. The spirit of Jaguar inhabits the Mayan temples and is called on to assist in spiritual as well as in material ways. Jaguar is also the god/goddess of gratefulness. Patience born of strength and skill can turn to pounce of quick decision and action. Both bold and stealthful, Jaguars do not often attack directly and communications from them usually contain some mystery. In the absence of integrity, Jaguars power corrupts becoming a search for wealth and fame.

Totem-Jaguar:  Guardian of the portals to other dimensions, shamanic abilities will open.  Multi-dimensional magic. Healer, leader, way shower energy when used for spiritual growth. Abuse would be using this power for control or negative purposes.  Must find a powerful balance.

Cherokee, Panther/SAHO’NI:  Symbol – comets, meteors, shooting stars, fireballs, magicians.  The early-morning Leo constellation Meteors appearing around the middle of November are Heralds of the Coming of the Light, the Cherokee New Year.  Shadow of the Sphinx, Herald of the Dawn, guardians of the night when the sun is traveling through the underworld. Shapeshifters, manipulators of manifestations. Unlimited imaginations, visualizations, spellbinding speakers.

NEW DAY KEEPERS: My sacred intention for the new Tzolk’in round is to offer more personal support to those who may want to learn more about ways to draw personal meaning from the calendar. I will be offering an Introductory Guided Course for Day Keepers in the near future. Contact me if this is something you would be interested in! Also, if you’d just like help identifying your Day Sign, I’m more than happy to help. Blessings, in lak’ech Debra (debra.malmos@gmail.com)

  1. beautiful, I love the magic of the earth, bringing up the magic wherever we live – and we have always lived in mountains, where Black Hills meet the plains…and now jungle. we(patiently, uh-huh) await the place we are meant to nurture next…in this zone we have found. Gaia magic in abundance! Jaguar motivation bursting at the core – gracias a Dios for the ‘job’ you are sending our way. and thank you for your gifts to us! en lak-ech, ~e

  2. Yes! Yes! Yes! Your love of Mother Nature and Earth is palpable through the energy of Your prose. You are a true Jaguar woman indeed. So many times has nature responded to My own Love. Even the Elements and Flora respond! There is a grove of 38 towering pine trees where I often used to go to seek refuge from the oppressive heat and humidity here in Cincinnati, OH. I would go there to meditate, nestling underneath them on a bed of their dried needles, gazing up into their heights, enjoying the beauty of their form, and basking in their combined, communal oasis of shade.

When I arrived there, I would always greet them out loud feeling sooo much Love and appreciation for them, and connect to their root system energy with My bare feet on the ground. Many times even on the most still, sweltering and hot dog days of Summer, a cool breeze would come out of nowhere; the pines would begin blowing around wildly, as if “waving ” to me and greeting me in return, singing to Me a song of Love and hope as the breeze whistled through their needles.

After experiencing this phenomenon many times, I would imagine that this was all happening for Me and because of Me. Then I would think that I am just imagining these things(that they aren’t really “real” that others would think Me daff), and then I realized that Yes! without Me imagining these experiences they wouldn’t have even happened. I Was! the cause of it all happening, and those pines actually drew the breeze to Us for Our enjoyment. A symphony of mutual and reciprocal Love and appreciation-Earth’s magic at it’s finest!

I haven’t been there yet this year. As the humidity is 100%, I am going to visit them today. Thank You for the reminder In lak’ek

    • Good morning, Dean – It’s such an inspiration to me to read your messages. We all have so much to bring and call attention to. Thank you for calling attention to the wind – jaguar represents the element of air, so this is very meaningful and timely. And it also reminds me of the breezes of acknowledgement. I was taught to pay attention to what I was thinking or saying when a sudden breeze comes along. Like you mention, I question for a moment if this is happening. The more we pay attention, the more it speaks to us. Thank you for a beautiful teaching on the wind. in lak’ech, Debra
