MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

By shining new light on all things, 10 Sun/AHAU completed the 7th uinal’s intention of restoring us to balance. 11 Crocodile/IMIX introduces us into the 8th uinal. The numbers of the 13 Tones and 13 Uinals (20-day cycle columns) are correspondent in their intention. As Tone 8 is the Holy Day of Divine Justice, so does the 8th uinal reflect a Holy Cycle that brings the Justice of Harmony and Equity. The Tone 8 in the 8th uinal is 8 Monkey/CHUEN (8 B’aatz), the Holy Day of the New Year as observed by the K’iche Maya, and the Initiation Day of Mayan Daykeepers. There are 10 Portal Days in this uinal that will lift the veil to Higher Dimensions.

Today’s Tone 11 brings an Intention of Resolution. Tone 11 asks us to consider how we will integrate a new understanding. Some modifications are required as we see how something we have learned would fit into a world of our creation.

Crocodile/IMIX is the Day Sign of the Divine Feminine and our Primordial Mother. We reside under the care of a Divine Mother who was there as we were created. Her role is to bring nourishment and the encouragement to be whatever we would Love to Be.

The Monkey/CHUEN trecena is guiding us to measure the value of our experiences without a judgement of good or bad. Monkey is the artist who is fascinated by all the colors and draws beauty from its imagination.

IMIX also draws awareness to our way of thinking. IMIX is known as the Day Sign of Innovation by bringing inspiration and ideas randomly out of the blue. We may be inspired by wild ideas that seem unrelated, though their purpose is to spark our imagination. IMIX encourages us to set aside the process of the Reasoning Mind and to Dream of the World in our Imagination.

We’ve been using our Reasoning Mind to reflect on Truths about our Self, comparing how our way of Being aligns with the integrity of our Intentions. IMIX can shake up our thinking with new patterns of thought. As we enter into a Higher Intention of Divine Justice (8th uinal) we are encouraged to see that what we are capable to Create is only limited by what we are able to imagine, and that a Divine Agency will help to make it so.

By exploring the ideas of IMIX, we are capable to imagine something totally new and different. We’ve undergone a process of re-balancing. We are capable to generate new and innovative ways of approaching Life that correspond with the things we Love. A Divine Mother would ask us to remember all the things we Love to do and imagine how we could find greater joy from a new vocation, a new approach, or something altogether new.

A Divine Mother’s greatest joy is the Happiness of her Children. We were meant to pursue those things that make us happy and bring joy to our everyday lives. Our greatest capabilities lie in the areas of our greatest passion. IMIX would encourages us to go for the thing we would Love, and to begin by Dreaming of Everything it Could Be.

We’ve worked hard to make it through a new understanding. IMIX reminds us that the actual process of Creating our World wasn’t meant to be experienced as hard work. Again, Monkey would lead us on a FUN new adventure.

This is a day to pay attention to our wild ideas. IMIX is said to be seen as Genius when they follow their heart. IMIX can spark our Genius by leading us on a trail of thought that isn’t limited by a Mind of Reason. We are given a blank canvas upon which to create a world of our imagination. Divine Justice supports our own Sacred Right of Choice.

Tone 11 is the day when the shaman makes the journey to the highest altar. Here we are called to surrender our own understanding as the offering we would bring, so we are open to receive Divine Inspiration. We are led to see that the thoughts and ideas that seem to come from nowhere are inspiration from a Divine Source. This is a day to take note, write them down, and imagine where these thoughts could lead. Allowing our imagination to follow a new trail of thought offers a way to tap into our own Genius. IMIX brings the dawn of a new awakening.

To all my relations, IMIX would have us live in the integrity of our True Passion. Love is the magic component of our Power to Create. Our Highest Aspirations are the ones we are most capable to bring to life. Following our Passion will bring out the Genius in our Self. May we offer our Gratitude and Appreciation for a Creator who intended us to do more than just survive. The Creator’s Highest Intention was that we Live in Beauty and Happiness. Beginning a new uinal that would even the score, we could Innovate an old Dream or Imagine something Brand New.

21 DAYS of CEREMONY: 1 Monkey/CHUEN marked 21 days to the K’iche Maya New Year celebrated on 8 B’atz (8 Monkey/CHUEN). Observing 21 days of prayer and sacred ceremony is a traditional preparation for the observance of the Tzolk’in calendar New Year, which is also the Initiation of the Mayan Daykeepers.

NEW UINAL: 11 Crocodile/IMIX beings the 8th Uinal of Divine Justice. The Higher Intention for the next 20 days is establish Harmony and Equity.

11 Crocodile/IMIX (Cherokee, Turtle/ DAK’SI)

Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.

Crocodile/IMIX: Crocodile receives messages of primal creative force; simply the beginning of all things. Crocodiles who follow their hearts are seen as genius. There is no order to the primal messages, so Crocodile persons should direct their energies toward practical and cooperative efforts to bring productive results. Crocodiles have a strong nurturing energy and will work hard to provide security to family and friends. Being extremely territorial, Crocodiles must watch not to be over protective or too dominating. While in these states, Crocodiles are insecure, indecisive and emotionally volatile.
