2 Earth / CABAN – Path of Higher Learning: Day 2

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

2 Earth / CABAN

Greetings Kin,

Tone 2 reflects our Duality and offers us a Choice of our Free Will. Humans are creatures of Duality. We are symmetrical in our form. We are Beings of Spirit and Physicality. It’s our Human Nature to learn by comparison. We have two ways of thinking from our right and left brain. We gain wisdom as a binary process of inspiration and application.

The Wisdom/CIB trecena holds the Intention of elevating our Wisdom. Earth/CABAN offers the guidance from which we can discern our own Intention for Wisdom during this 13-day cycle.

Mother Earth was the first Gift of the Creator. The Home we were given was designed by Intention to be a Place to Experience Beauty and to learn everything we would ever need to Know about our Self.

We are made of Earth. One of the indigenous words for Human is literally defined as “earth raised up.” This is also reflected in the teaching of the Bible that, “God, out of the dust of the earth, raised up man.” All the magical forces of nature are a reflection of who We Are.

PORTAL DAYS: Element of Ether – Portal Days thin the veil to other dimensions. These are days when we are capable to Experience our Spiritual Gifts. On 2 Earth/CABAN we are offered the Sense of Connection to the Old Ones and the Wisdom they would offer us in the Choice of our Intention.  This is a day to listen to our own Intuition. Our Inner Voice is magnified to make itself Known.

The K’iche Maya call this Day Sign Noj and define it as the symbol of all Knowledge. Noj represents wisdom and the Power of Intelligence. The first lesson of the Elders is their guidance to recognize that all our Wisdom can be drawn from what we Know about Mother Earth.

The Aztec and the Cherokee Day Signs are both symbols of Movement. The Aztec symbol of the Ollin is defined simply as “Movement” and the Cherokee relate to the Heron that lives its life as a pilgrimage, a perpetual Purpose of Movement. The Heron is also compared to the Phoenix that rises to life again from its own ashes. The Aztec Elders described Ollin as an auspicious day for the active principle, a bad day for the passive principle. (Aztec Calendar)

The Old Ones, would remind us they were also made of Earth and returned to Earth. The water that held the Ether of their Spirit was returned to the rivers that flow to the ocean. The falling rain holds the Blessing of their Spirit. We are all One, together for all time.

Today is a day to imagine everything we would hope to Learn. More important than considering whether or not we are capable is the question, “is our dream worthy?” The prayer the Elders offered at sunrise was to ask the Ancestors, “What would You have me know today?”

Our Intention can be as broad or as narrow as we would choose it to be. This Journal was created from an Intention made in Fall of 2015. It was a time when I felt I had no sense of direction or a Dream I could even reach for. My real intention was not about writing a journal, but a search for meaning and purpose for my life. I felt as if 65 years of Spiritual Understanding was all a lost effort on me. I made a commitment to Journal the Tzolk’in as evidence to myself that I was doing SOMETHING. I’m still not sure of my direction and still seek to discover my Highest Dream. Though today, it’s okay for my future to be unknown, because I found a Blessing in the Experience of Right Now. CIB can restore our Faith in Discovering our Dream.

There can be some discomfort in the Energy of Tone 2. To accomplish the Intention of Tone 2, we have to separate ourselves from the Whole. We reflect on Our Own Expression of an Idea. We can experience a Sense of Separation Anxiety. As we reflect on how we are different, we yearn to be returned to Oneness with the Whole.

To all my relations, we are called to Experience a Higher Love of Mother Earth. May we acknowledge her as a Sacred Gift of the Creator and Offer her a Blessing of our Consciousness. She is the vessel through which the Creator is Conscious of Us. May we hold the Gratitude that is worthy of the first Gift we were given at Birth. Holding Earth in our hand may we re-member her body holds the substance of every thing created. We are together with the Old Ones for all time. May we rise from the ashes of our own past by setting an Intention for something Made New. In our ashes lies a Spark of the Creator, the Holy Ember of an Intention from which we would rise to Dream once more.

ON BEHALF OF MOTHER EARTH:
Just as the Earth reflects our Beauty, so does she reflect our neglect. May we think of everything we take from her, only to throw away. This video gave me a lot to think about regarding the worthiness of our dreams. Personal acquisition will never be our Highest Aspiration. I’ve been clearing closets to realize my only attachment to half of what I own is that it’s “too good to throw away.” There’s no way possible for a lifestyle of buying the next trend could ever serve the Highest Intention of uplifting Humanity.

2 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.

Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI:  Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way. “The Northern Cross is the Tree of Life, Beside the Milky Way River & Perched atop is Guwi’ sguwi, the Cherokee Heron Spirit Bird, comparable to the Egyptian Phoenix.  (Cherokee Astrology: Animal, Medicine in the Stars, Raven Hall)

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. 1. I have been on a mission too- I want to live simply and thoroughly understand need vs wants. I ask myself why? a lot. I have given so many things to those who need what I only wanted. I have decluttered and the difference it has made! i love your posts everyday!
