4 Serpent / CHICCHAN – Living as a Creator: Day 4

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Serpent/CHICCHAN

Greetings Kin,

Serpent/CHICCHAN is the catalyst, the Spark that Lights the Fuse to Life Force itself. This is a day of “Lightning in the Blood.” This is a very important day to pay attention to your gut instincts. Seed and the Serpent go together. Seed is dormant until it’s placed in the ground where it is ignited with a Force of Life.

Our Higher Self relates to Sources of Consciousness as its way of understanding, knowing that every Living Thing holds a Consciousness of the Creator.  Chicchan is an Archetype that personifies this very Force of Life.

The Wind/IK trecena is guiding us to explore our Higher Self as the Divine Creator. We’re drawn to discern two sides of our Self. Wind is showing us how to Create from the Higher Self, the One who is in Atonement with the Divine Creator. Our Lower Self can make the Choice of Offering itself to permit this Divine Transfer of Power.

Today is the Global Burner, a release of pent up energy. All Global Burners are on Tone 4 of Stability (4 Sun/AHAU, 4 Eagle/MEN, 4 Dog/OC, and 4 Serpent/CHICCHAN).  The Maya observe Global Burners with Sacred Fire Ceremonies, for the purpose of restoring Harmony in the Community. Each season offers a day for coming together in a Mutual Intention to leave personal resentments, disappointments, and any resistance to Love in the past. We might observe this day by writing the concerns we would release on a piece of paper, and offering it to the Element of Fire.

4 Serpent/Chicchan is a is a turning point in our Relationship with our Higher Self. Through a catalytic force, Chicchan can restore the Unity of Body and Soul.

4 Serpent/CHICCHAN offers a stabilizing force by Lighting the Fuse of Awareness to our own Sixth Sense. We are given the ability to discern our Gut Feelings, our Intuition and Telepathy are the communications of total Consciousness. It’s said that to “grow” our psychic abilities, we only have to acknowledge it and pay attention. As we acknowledge our Divine Source of Wisdom, the Voice of our Higher Self becomes more easily discernible. (We speak up when we know we are acknowledged and listened to, and so does our Higher Self.) Chicchan lights the fuse that “bestirs our blood to speak.”

Today is a day that will establish our orientation. Tone 4 reflects the 4 directions. This is a day when we are capable to draw discernment from all the Directions of our Life. We are capable to see the Force of our Higher Self drawn forward in this phase of our Spiritual Growth.

I would encourage you to look in all directions – at your ability to discern a Divine Source of inspiration, at your relationships, at your daily walk, and at your own growth of Wisdom. Where were you a month ago? A year ago? A week ago? This is an important time of recognition that we are Truly Changing. The MULUC trecena was a powerful influence by its Sacred Intention of Atonement. We were connected as One through an Offering that was made by our Higher Self. It is our Higher Self that engages in ritual and ceremony… choosing to draw its Consciousness to the Creator.

Our Higher Self, surrendered to the Creator, is an UNCHANGING part of our Self. It lives in Oneness with the Creator, and in the image of the Creator, it always reflects the Divine Aspect of Unconditional Love.

As we discern our own Sources of Consciousness as independent personalities, we could recognize that they, too, negotiate a Divine Relationship. As I thought back to the beginning of the last trecena, I saw some major changes within myself.  It’s as if my own Higher Self has stepped forward to be recognized as an independent Source of Consciousness.

Seeing our Lower and Higher Self as independent, we could understand their need of “right relationship.” The Akbal Voice that spoke to me in my dreams, suggested that it isn’t enough to just acknowledge that our fears come from the Ego. We must also acknowledge the burden that our Lower Self must bear to do its job.

In a relationship with anyone else, if a “fear of the dark” was expressed, we wouldn’t simply acknowledge the fear and proceed to drag them into the dark. We would do more than acknowledge the fear, we would Listen. Our Resistance to Move Forward is a Gut Feeling that deserves our Acknowledgement. When we are stressed out by a gut reaction of fear, our Higher Self is disabled from its full Power. The Power of Creation, like all things Divine, was meant to be easy. If we are not feeling “at ease” we can honor the Gut Reaction that says we’re not ready. We could take it as a sign, that restoring our relationship is more important than any urgency to move forward. As the Lower Self feels seen and heard, it will learn to willingly go along. We have to remember that the Creator Created both of these faces of our Self, and that each is serving a Divine Purpose. Both our Higher and Lower self want and deserve acknowledgement.

The Song Sparrows… in the last trecena I was given witness to a miracle of nature. Each day, a mother came with her crying baby bird in an intention to teach it how to feed itself. The big baby cried to its mother as it stood on a pile of seeds.  On the first two days, she did most of the feeding. She then proceeded to offer a demonstration – she ate for herself, side-by-side with the baby, also going back and forth to the suet cage. The baby still cried every day, even as it was beginning to feed itself. I see these same two birds every morning. Now the baby is no longer crying and now fully in charge of feeding itself. It’s fear is replaced by wisdom. It seems such a perfect demonstration of our own accomplishment of Spiritual Growth. I’d ask you again to think back to where you were a week ago, a month ago, a year ago, to recall a specific challenge that captured all your attention. With Chicchan’s Sixth Sense you could see a similar change in your Self.

Our ongoing Spiritual Growth is an Awakening to our Higher Self. We engage it through a Sacred Intention. We are establishing a relationship – and like every other relationship, we grow closer over time. Chicchan can light a fuse that could make our Higher Self clearly evident.

The “personality” of Serpent/CHICCHAN is capable to shed its skin. It leaves something of itself behind to make room for new growth. Serpent is sensual and dramatic, said to embody “instinctual wisdom” to create a connection between “Earth bound and Heavenly Aspirations.” Chicchan is a symbol of “As Above, So Below,” holding the power to bring into correspondence the relationship between our Lower and Higher Self.

Peace Pilgrim – An awesome story of one who walked in her Higher Self on a pilgrimage of 28 years, eating only when fed, resting only when given shelter, to reveal the Truth of our Divine Nature.

Serpent is also fluid and flexible in its movement, unless backed into a corner. We could clearly see the difficulty of negotiating with our Lower Self, when it discerns it is backed into a corner. Our Higher Self is worthy to offer the Unconditional Love, Patience, and Loyalty that we expect to receive from the Creator. We can learn to quiet our own fears as an important step before moving on.

This Mother Song Sparrow was willing to feed its crying baby, even as it was capable of feeding itself. Something in its own tiny consciousness, knew to offer this loyalty and support of Unconditional Love. The crying stopped as the baby acquired the wisdom to find its own Source of Life Sustenance.

Chicchan raises our Consciousness of Spirit through an energetic in the physical body. This is a day of revelation that is accompanied by a physical sense. It is compared to the kundalini energy that rises from the base of our spin to the top of our head. We might also think back to physical sensations of danger – the “Hair-raising Knowing” we should be on-guard. A Force within our body also responds to Spiritual Experience. This is an important day to relate to all our physical sensations, as a means of discernment.

There is an ethereal consciousness in every living thing. Science is beginning to acknowledge this consciousness. Plant neurobiologists now believe that plants are conscious. Unlike Human who holds a consciousness of itself, plants are believed to have a consciousness of their place, reacting appropriately to their position in space. “As Above, So Below.” Based on this principle from a Divine Perspective we could know that Every Living Thing holds a Conscious of the Creator and the Creation.

To all my relations, may we call our awareness to our Inner Consciousness, and look to its Higher Need of Unconditional Love. May we make a commitment to our Self to be there, even when we recognize our fear is only an illusion. Our Sacred Intention was discerned by our Higher Self, our ever-present and unchanging Consciousness of the Creator. May we see our Power to Create is made possible when the Ego is willing to go along. Our Lower Self can release its Resistance, once it knows it’s been Seen and Heard. Through a new way, we can shed our old skin to Know the Truth of our Inner Consciousness. As we learn to Love our Lower Self, it will become ever-more-willing to let go. May we be grateful that a Divine Creator loved every part of us Unconditionally. May we acknowledge that the Divine Justice of Harmony and Equity was Offered by the Creator, to both our Body and Soul.

in lak’ech, i am another you

4 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI)

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.
