MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
The first 6 Tones represent the stage of Spiritual Growth at the beginning of every trecena. Led by the Blue Day Sign of Deer/MANIK, this is a trecena of “Light” where the effort of growth is accomplished by being present and conscious of Incoming Inspiration. Deer/MANIK, also known as Hand, inspires us to Know we were created to be the Hand of God and a Divine Participant in the process of Creation. As the Day Sign of Spiritual Tools, MANIK guides us to see the Divine Way we are equipped to fulfill our Divine Destiny.
Dog/OC resides with Monkey/CHUEN at the center of the Tzolk’in. Together, they reflect the Divine Aspects central to the Creator that were shared with Humanity. Dog/OC is the Day Sign of Unconditional Love, and Monkey/CHUEN is the Day Sign of a Creator. Our Divine Life Purpose and Soul Mission is to be Creators of Love.
Tone 4 brings an Intention of Stability. Tone 4 represents the cube, the most stable of all forms that establishes volume by defining height, length, depth and breadth. Tone 4 offers a sense of orientation through the 4 directions and defines the parameters, the freedoms, and the barriers within which we can manifest our Intention. 4 Dog/OC guides us to build a foundation on Love.
GLOBAL BURNER DAY: 4 Dog/OC can burn away the conditions placed on our Love. The Maya observe Global Burner Days with Sacred Fire Ceremony. Burner days mark a release of built-up residual energy that can generate stress that impacts our relationships. Sharing Sacred Ceremony is a way of restoring Harmony and Balance in the Community. We can create our own observance. We might write down our “prayer to be loving” as our Offering to the Fire, where we could see it consumed and its smoke carried by the Element of Air to the Creator.
Dog/OC demonstrates Unconditional Love as one who is said to be faithful even beyond death. Dog is the totem recognized for being by our side through our journey to the other side. Dog demonstrates the many expressions of Unconditional Love. Dog is always glad to see us and is waiting at the front door. Dog makes us smile and encourages us to play. Dog can be fiercely protective whenever we are in danger. Dog is the pack animal who is devoted to the needs of the whole community. Dog doesn’t take offense when love isn’t received, but simply moves on to the next opportunity of Love. Dog shows its appreciation by wagging its tale and looking into our eyes. Even when turned away, Dog always offers another chance. Every engagement we have with Dog, begins on a clean page. And, Dog Knows when we are hurting and brings empathy and compassion.
Dog/OC brings the energy to expand our Heart. One of the fundamental aspects of the Divinity of Human is our capability to hold a Conscious Intention to Love. All our Supernatural Powers where facilitated by the Gift of Free Will. While other living creatures are given a Divine Instinct to Love, only Human can Make a Choice to Love. Human can Choose to be Conscious of Love. Dog/OC guides Human to a state of “unconditional love” through a Gift for Compassion.
All our animal friends help us to Experience Unconditional Love within our Self. We return the Affection of Dog without any condition. We can Feel Unconditional Love just watching the Dog’s many ways of being. Seeing to its well-being we are a Living God in Dog’s Life, acting as a Central Source of their Happiness and Survival. We Love Dog from the beginning to the end, and beyond death. Through Dog we experience our own Eternal Love.
Dog/OC demonstrates the Love that is Human’s Life Purpose and Soul Mission. Dog/OC opens our eyes to the Love that is all around us. Residing in the North, the direction of the Ancestors who accomplished the Highest States of Being, we are reminded that the Accomplishments of the Ascended Masters were always an Expression of Love.
Through the Atonement of Offering our Self to the Creator, our Heart is Opened as a Vessel for Divine Love. The Creator knew that the Human Experience of Living would present an Illusion of being Alone. Our Love was the Healing Gift we were meant to share with each other.
Divine Love is different from the experience we call “falling in love.” We imagine romantic love as feelings that magically happen to us. Though romantic love may grow into Divine Love, it’s not the same thing. Love is Divine when it reflects Compassion and is given by Choice. Our Stability for the Spiritual Growth is established by a Decision to Love.
Over the past few weeks I’ve reflected on the frustration of kids who call me at the very last minute to get together. It’s thwarted some “surprises” I’ve planned that require a few hours of advance preparation. I realized that being ready in the moment is the greater gift. Unconditional Love is a more enduring memory than any “surprise.” I made a decision to answer “Sure thing!” when I get the text message that asks if I can be ready in 20 minutes. “Training them” to be more thoughtful only expresses a condition for Love. I realized the Expectation of my Love is an Honor and Blessing. And, the Abundance of Love that’s exchanged when we’re together is worth far more than the inconvenience. Opportunities to Give and Receive Love are the last thing we should ever complain about. Dog is a creature that happily takes advantage of every opportunity.
To all my relations, may we consider the many small ways that Love can be expressed. The simple act of meeting someone at the door with our full attention is a Gift of Love. Loving without condition, demonstrates the value we place on each other. May we remember those people in our lives that love us just as we are, and those we could count on to show up when they are needed. More importantly, may we remember the way they make us Feel. These are the people who hold a permanent place in our Heart. This is a day to express our Love and to make a “Decision to Love” the foundation of our Spiritual Growth. May we offer our thankfulness to the Creator for being an Eternal Spring of Unconditional Love that’s given in Abundance beyond the Love that is received.

4 Dog/OC (Cherokee, WOLF/KANA’TI)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Dog persons share the nature of coyotes, spies, wolves and lawyers
Cherokee, WOLF/KANA’TI: Wolf’s symbol is Sirius (Dog star) and Antares, one or the other always visable but never at the same time. Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots. All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance. Connecting link between the worlds. One who inspires loyalty, diplomacy and sense of humor with unlimited potential. A teacher, healer, pathfinder and transformer. Sharp as obsidian, gentle as a lamb. Totem -Dog. Loyalty and faithfulness that survives beyond death. This was the first day of creation energy in this 4th world, sets the energy for love, loyalty and faithfulness on the 5200 year cycle. Heart chakra energy is involved so that we can move to the state of “unconditional love” with compassion. All sexual desire issues that are not in harmony will surface to be cleared.
