2 Jaguar / IX – Building an Altar: Day 2 of 13

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

2 Jaguar / IX

Greetings Kin,

On Tone 2 we are separated from the Whole to consider our own way of creating Harmony and Peace among family in the place we call home. Tone 2 is the sign of Duality. Human’s  discernment is based on the comparison of two sides and the different polarities of good or bad, right or wrong, darkness or light. On Tone 2, we see the ways we are different, and long to be rejoined in Unity.

Jaguar/IX is the Day Sign of Spirit and the nahaul of magic, born of its Gratitude for Mother Earth. IX lives its life in stealth, guarding the Sacred Altars where Human brings their Offerings in Consciousness of the Creator.

The Reed/BEN trecena is guiding us to build an alter that would be the central gathering place for Home and Family. Our first step was to sanctify this place as Holy Ground. We are divinely placed where our own talents and abilities will serve the greatest good.

As we light the first candles and offer our prayers of consecration, we discern the Offering of Spirit that we would bring. Jaguar/IX guides our thoughts to consider the things we are most grateful for. On the Tone that generates a longing to be reunited, we would naturally be led to our gratitude for each other.

Tone 2 is a day for silent reflection. Jaguar’s greatest work is accomplished in Spirit behind the scenes. Our first offering would remember those that we Love. Through our prayers of supplication we would humbly ask for a Blessing upon our Home and Family, and acknowledge the Truth of the Blessing that we are to One Another.

It seems a paradox that the greater our Human population, the more isolated from each other we’ve become. Our conveniences of self-sufficiency have blinded us to the Truth of how much our lives Always depend on one another.

Our times of personal challenge raise this Truth to our Consciousness. We see that the displacement of so many in the path of Hurricane Harvey, has called forth the Human Spirit of Compassion for One Another. In times of great peril, Human rises to the occasion of Love and Self Sacrifice. All our differences become secondary to a Rescue Mission of Love.

In Humility we would remember the Human Hearts in need of Rescue every day. We might remember that our survival Every Day depends on each other. Our own tools for survival were passed down from the generation before. There are few of us on the planet who aren’t dependent upon others for the source of our very next meal. Jaguar/IX calls forth our Gratitude for every blessing that is made possible by someone else.

As we offer our prayers at the Altar of our Home, we would consider the gifts that each member of the family is Divinely Gifted to bring. In our prayers of supplication we would ask to Honor and Nurture the special talents that each has to offer the other.

Jaguar/IX is a symbol of the Divine Feminine, and a day to Honor the Feminine Love of Compassion. It is a day to offer prayers for Mothers, Grandmothers, Wives, Sisters, Daughters, Aunts and everyone in our lives who has offered this compassionate love. As we pray for one another, we honor those who first prayed for us. We would take the time to remember those that accepted the Divine Charge of helping to raise us up, and how their Love was once our sole means of survival. We can acknowledge our own Divine Calling to pay forward this gift of Love.

Jaguar also draws our Gratitude for our Common Mother Earth, who the Jaguar sees as the Source of every Blessing. We could look to nature for these same signs of Love that are demonstrated in the primary instincts of all living creatures. This same instinct of Love lies in the Heart of our own Human nature. We were made to Love One Another.

Jaguar/IX is among the most Spiritual Day Signs of the Tzolk’in who holds great power of intellect and strength of character. Opening portals to other dimensions, Jaguar is the way shower for our own Spiritual Growth.

To all my relations, may we light the candles at our altar to represent the Light of the Creator’s Love. May we offer our Gratitude for the Gift of having a home. May we accept with great Humility the Responsibility of raising the Light of Spirit. We could add to our altar a representation of those we would lift by our Love and Prayers. May we open our hearts to discern the special gift that each has to bring, so we could help to magnify their own Light.  May we remember Mother Earth for the beauty and love she reveals in nature. May we consider the gifts that WE are the most grateful for to discern our own Highest Gift of Love.

A SPECIAL REQUEST FOR PRAYER:

May we hold up all who are suffering in the path of Hurricane Harvey. May we remember ALL the children and families displaced around the world. May we share their sorrow of losing the comfort of home. May we celebrate the Human instinct to Love. In our time of danger, we live for the things that really matter. May we crystallize the image of “people helping people” without any regard to race, religion, age, gender or nationality. May we imagine a world where no child would ever know the pain of discrimination. May we give thanks to Mother Earth for all she has offered, and be Humbled by how much we have taken. May our prayer be our Offering to the Creator for a Blessing of Divine Intervention. AHO.

2 Jaguar/IX (Cherokee, Panther/SAHO’NI)

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Jaguar/IX: Born with a deep love of the Mother Earth, Jaguar or shaman is directly tied to the source of all Earth magic. They possess great power of intellect and strength or character through integrity. Jaguar energy is feminine in nature and is the ruling spirit of jungles, plains, and mountains. The spirit of Jaguar inhabits the Mayan temples and is called on to assist in spiritual as well as in material ways. Jaguar is also the god/goddess of gratefulness. Patience born of strength and skill can turn to pounce of quick decision and action. Both bold and stealthful, Jaguars do not often attack directly and communications from them usually contain some mystery. In the absence of integrity, Jaguars power corrupts becoming a search for wealth and fame.

Cherokee, Panther/SAHO’NI: Panther is symbolized by comets, meteors, shooting stars, fireballs, and magicians.  Meteors appearing around the middle of November are Heralds of the Coming of the Light, the Cherokee New Year. Panther is the Shadow of the Sphinx, Herald of the Dawn, guardian of the night when the sun is traveling through the underworld. Panthers have unlimited imaginations, visualizations, and are spellbinding speakers. The Cherokee Totem Jaguar is the guardian of the portals to other dimensions; shamanic abilities will open; multi-dimensional magic; healer, leader, way shower energy when used for spiritual growth.  Abuse would be for using this power for control or negative purposes; must find a powerful balance. Ix: The Kab’awil represents the heart of the planet, the female reproductive tract, the face of a jaguar and points east on the world map. Ix: woman, tiger. Conducive to pray for grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters and wives day. For wisdom at 4 Balances, cunning and protection of Mother Nature. To thank the Earth for sustenance. Ix is the native cunning, enterprising, vigorous, bold and realistic.
