3 Deer / MANIK – A Baptism of Spirit: Day 3 of 13

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

3 Deer / MANIK

Greetings Kin,

Tone 3 is the first day of movement in the Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena. We bring an Intention to Life through movement or communication. Intention takes on a life of its own when it is projected into the Universe.

This life the Intention holds is our Seed of Love inspired by the Creator. In communion with the Creator, we engaged the One Mind that already knows the beginning to the end. Our movement draws an Unlimited Possibility into the Seed. Everything that is Known about it is embedded in the design. Through movement, one step will inspire the next.

The CHICCHAN trecena is igniting our Spiritual Gifts of Knowing. This is an important time to ask questions. We can ask the Creator to Know the Wisdom within the Seed.

Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of Spiritual Tools. The Vigilance to Stand in its own Truth is the most-used Spiritual Tool of MANIK. The Deer’s life is a pilgrimage, moving in the 4 directions. All of Deer’s movements are made by Intention. Deer stands silently in its Truth and waits to see the Sign before it springs into movement. This way, every movement is known to be directed from Above. Deer/MANIK is said to uphold the Pillars of the 4 Directions. Through intentional movement, we will uphold the pillars of a Dream that was created in Spirit. The Deer’s Senses are heightened by Vigilant Observation.

10-DAY PORTAL: ELEMENT OF ETHER (Day 2)
Portal days thin the veil to the dimension of Spirit. Portals magnify our Spiritual Gifts and offer mystical experiences. We’re able to see beyond the Known to Know the Unknown. Today, a Portal magnifies the Power of our Movement in Spirit. The Seed of our Intention is germinated, and begins to cast the net to draw abundance to everything it needs to grow. Deer/MANIK will draw the Power from Spirit. (The 13-Day Trecena Guide offers additional insight on Portal Days, and why I observe them.)

The Portal opened a way to make this journey through the dimension of Spirit. The steps we take will be steps of Spirit. We can uphold the pillars of our own world of Spirit by a vigilant process of existing there. In Spirit, we will draw the Power and the Way.

This is a very important cycle that is meant to be lived from Spirit. This is a beautiful gift for us to discover. This morning, the Sun that rises to shine across my balcony called me into the Light. The Sunrise Ceremony is a way to start the day acknowledging the Greatest Source of Power, and the Life, Light and Happiness the Creator brings to our life. As I stood in its Light, I felt the Power washing over me and the warmth of it pressing into and permeating the body. I imagined my own dose of Power being given to carry me toward my Dream. I gave thanks for the incoming Power.

We really are being fed by Light. The photons from the Sun permeate the body and are said to have an effect on the pineal gland. The pineal gland is a small, pea-sized gland deep within the brain, whose function isn’t fully understood. What is known to science is its regulation of sleep patterns, circadian rhythms influenced by our exposure to sunlight. Our bodies carry on different cycles depending on the season. The pineal gland knows the presence of increasing and decreasing hours of light, changes influenced by the equionix and solstice.

Pine

The pineal gland has been symbolized as the “pine cone” throughout history. The Fontana della Pigna (“The Pine cone”) sits on top of a fountain within the walls of the Vatican City in Rome, originally created as a the fount itself that projected water from the top. The Pine Cone is considered by many to be our biological Third Eye, the “Seat of the Soul,” the “Epicenter of Enlightenment.” a sacred symbol throughout history, in cultures around the world. Our Spiritual Eyes are opened by the Power of the Sun. Deer uses it as a Tool of Vigilance to See in Spirit.

Deer holds the strength to stand on what it Believes. It’s the Sign of the Maya Priest who extends the gift of Spiritual Vision in service to others. The priest held the responsibility of maintaining the schedule of Sacred Ceremonies and carry them out on behalf of the Whole. The Mayan priests are not “preachers” as we might think of a priest today. They demonstrated the way. Deer/MANIK holds a power of Harmonic Resonance, a Gift that draws others to follow along. Harmonic Resonance is the phenomenon of Vibration, where the Purest Tone draws lower tones into sympathy. (It’s the waa-waa warbling sound we might hear, when a pure tone and a discordant tone are played together.)

A Vision of Deer in the clouds on the Maya New year (8’Batz), July 4, 2016 – the completion of my first 260-day journal, the 9 months that birthed a new life.

Deer stands still looking in every direction, while those around it are focused on eating. All deer are vigilant with one eye trained on the leader. The Moment the Stag discerns the need to move, they would all spring in the same moment.

Deer calls us to be ready to spring in the moment. We will know when and how to move employing the Human Will of Vigilant Consciousness. We must engage our Human Will to stand on our Truth and Vigilantly guard and protect it.

My writing was interrupted here by a dog-on-dog attack and screaming from the parking lot. I won’t carry your heart through the details but it lasted for several minutes. All I could do was visualize the resolution and pray. The terror that gripped me sent me straight to the altar for a clearing.

I take it as a sign to mention that by astrological accounts, the Mars retrograde thru August 27 is forecasting a volatile Summer. This event was beyond anything I would ever expect to witness. Since we’re talking about Spiritual Tools, we should have them in place, and be ready to leap into action to use them. We’re usually given tools just as we have the need to use them.

CHICCHAN is igniting all our Spiritual Tools. Remember that Miracles are also possible.

The traditional way of smudging off is with sage followed by sweetgrass. The sage clears the negativity and the sweetgrass is said to bring love back into the place that was cleared. If you don’t have these materials in hand, a Bay Leaf (Laurel Leaf) can also be burned as a sacred aromatic. Burning Cedar is good for the Divine Feminine energy. Thanks are first given to the materials and permission asked to be used for a sacred purpose. Showering in “descending Light” is an Intentional way of bathing in Spirit. This would be a good time for a whole house clearing.

Mother Earth is always a source of healing through direct contact. The Deer on the family farm bed down within the Cedars. Just by standing on her in our bare feet, she can clear and ground us. The Elders said their tools were proven and worthy until we choose our own. Whatever it is, stating Divine Intention, Asking Permission, and Blessing the Whole is always a Divine way.

We might be prepared with the Tool of Forgiveness and Tolerance for those around us who may have no strategy for chaos. Service is Our Mission guided by Deer/MANIK. Through our Highest Intentions we can uphold the pillars of Peace and Happiness.

Deer/MANIK is said to keep every tool it has used. There’s a warning that too many tools can lead to confusion or indecision. Pick the tools you will invest your Faith in as the ritual to empower your Prayer. A living prayer of movement, engages our Whole Body.

MANIK holds all-encompassing tools to overcome every Human limitation. MANIK resides in the West, the place of our Heart, Emotions, and Fears of the Unknown. Feelings can be raised to the surface for Deer to present the perfect tool. Deer/MANIK is a healer who believes in the Power of Prayers. We can draw our own circle of Peace, and vigilantly stand within. Deer is silent to listen and understand what the other needs.

Under the guidance of CHICCHAN, we’ll See, Feel, and Know a supernatural power. Like the Snake, we are shedding our old skin that defined the boundaries of our Being. We’re given the flexibility of the snake to bend what we Believe. The only thing to worry about with a snake, is when they are backed into a corner. We don’t have to be confined to one way.

We can Choose to stand in this Truth, and take the Leap of Faith.

The glyph illustrates the Hand with forefinger and thumb grasping a current of Ether that completes the circuit to a Divine Source of Power. MANIK leads the way to tap into the Power of a Divine Creator. May we dare to grasp it to Know the Power.

To all my relations, may we engage the Spiritual Power of choosing to Believe. When we feel our own limitation, may we engage the Jaguar’s “Earth Magic” of gratitude. Instead of fearing our limitation, may we take it as a Sign of a Tool we will receive.  Deer can keep us focused on the solution instead of the limitation. May we all greet the Sunrise as One, conscious of the Power that opens our eyes in Spirit, conscious of the warmth of the Sun that our body feels. May we imagine in the sunlight our direct contact with the Power in the realm of Spirit, and begin each day sharing Gratitude for the Light.

in lak’ech, i am another you

REQUESTED PRAYER: Please offer a prayer for the Dogs, all Dogs. The Elders say they are with us as protectors against unseen danger and negativity, and when they leave us, they carry a darkness away. They are willing to give their lives for us. I know the owners of these dogs here must each be suffering tonight. Please remember Minisa and her dog Sugar that made the journey, and for Patrick (NAME!) and his cat with cancer… and for all of us who the bear the pain of being Human.

A NEW COMMITMENT TO GRATITUDE:

I’m sharing a the “21-Days of Gratitude” as a perpetual Personal Ceremony through the next journey to 8 Monkey/CHUEN Maya New Year. The “21 days” begin and end on Jaguar/IX. (I seem to have the most trouble keeping this count straight. Feel free to count for yourself, starting with Jaguar/IX as 1.)

21-Days of Gratitude: Day 14

I’m grateful for all the Spiritual Tools that were shared by the Elders.

3 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. I’ve started a gofundme page to raise money for the ticket and expenses related to book publishing scheduled for Spring 2019. Please only share if its Easy. You are already the blessing of just being here. (But you could help me spread the word.) much love, in lak’ech, Debra https://www.gofundme.com/life-dream-a-pilgrimage-of-spirit
