MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

8 Monkey/CHUEN (8 B’aatz) is celebrated as the New Year in the K’iche Maya tradition. This is a day for celebrating the Sacred Calendar of the Human and the 260 Kin who guide us through the process of Transformation.

Tone 8 holds the Intention of the Justice of Harmony and Equity. Today we are recognized for the journey of transformation that we Chose to make. Today is a Holy Day that honors the Intention of Divine Consciousness. Human is Sacred to the Creator for the journey we must make through the darkness, the only way for Human to Know the Light. We are Divine in the Choice made of our own Free Will to seek to be One with the Consciousness of the Creator. A relationship with Human was the Creator’s Dream. Our Choice to pursue it is a Sacred Offering.

DAY PORTAL, DAY 6: Element of Ether
Portal Days magnify our supernatural experiences through a thinning of the veil to the realm of Spirit. On 8 Monkey/CHUEN a portal magnifies the experience of our transformation. Through a gift of “pure spirit” we can realize the Truth of our Power to transform our lives into an experience of Happiness, Harmony, and Love. By Divine Intervention, we can realize Unconditional Love as our own Power to Create.

Master Number 88: The 8th Tone and 8th Uinal represent the Master Number 88. Number 88 is a powerful number as it is made up of the energies of the number 8, doubled and amplified. Number 8 carries the vibrations and attributes of patience, practicality and dependability, personal authority and power, discernment and good judgement, ambition and potential, business acumen, finding success and manifesting wealth and abundance, self-discipline and responsibility, inner-wisdom, justice and Karma – the Universal Spiritual Law of Cause and Effect. Angel Number 88 is a powerful vibration telling of achievements, success, striving forward, progress and attainment. This is the day of reward. 88 is a symbol of great prosperity, now and in the future, and Karma re-paid in kind. It marks a conclusion to an emotional, career, or relationship phase in your life. Monkey/CHUEN is the archetype of a Creator, an Artist, and an Alchemist. CHUEN wields the Creative Power of Consciousness. The Monkey naturally creates from a sense of curiosity. Monkey holds an affinity with Dog/OC, the symbol of Unconditional Love. When we engage our Power of Creation for a Meaning and Purpose of Unconditional Love, we engage the Power of the Supreme Creator. We inherited the Authority of Creation when we Co-Create with the Creator. There’s only one thing that Human needs to do it. We must Believe in our Self and Truth of the Creator’s Promise of Divine Intervention.

This is the effort of all our Spiritual Climbs. We’re transformed by taking a Leap of Faith, believing in our Self and the Creator. We are transformed through small incremental steps of forward movement. The growth of each trecena builds on the last. Sometimes the changes are so small, we wonder how it will make a difference tomorrow.

Through the Tzolk’in we are given a gift of a Beginning and an End. We are given the gestation cycle of Human, our own biological cycle of transformation, as the time by which we can clearly see the Truth of our own Transformation. There is a “Time for every Purpose under Heaven.” When we live on Human Time we are aligned with our own Divine Time. This “natural” Human cycle, is marked by many ancient calendars around the world. So does the Tzolk’in’s Intentions align with the Spiritual Principles of the Ancient Mystery Schools, the Wisdom of Hermes, Pythagoras, Newton, and Einstein. The Day Signs model personalities and ways of Being to reflect the many differences between our Human ways of perceiving experience. I’m amazed that in 260 days we experience 20 different ways to approach 13 Steps to Creation. Each Kin of the Tzolk’in is equal to the other. There is something beautiful in the Destiny of each of the 260 Kin.

The Beginning and Ending are Magnified by a Portal. The North spinning clockwise around the Medicine Circle (Yucatec), and South spinning counter-clockwise in their directions. My K’iche Daykeeper friend at Lake Atitlan says that they imagine a Reflection at the Top of the Pyramid on Tone 7. Up Above, a Mirror Image of the pyramid below. They imagine the “Leap of Faith” at the top of the pyramid, into the Dimension of Spirit… stairs continuing up to the Stars. The New Year of 8 B’aatz is celebrated in the North and the South. From the top of the pyramid, we are making a Leap into a new realm of Spirit… a stairway to Higher Consciousness. Together, we spin North and South as a vortex from the “Black Hole” that bursts forth its Light.

There are Important Spiritual Milestones on our Journey. This is one of them. Today we can see a new Reason and Purpose for Being. We’ve created something New for the Seed of our Self to Live For. In the harvest cycle of the Tzolk’in, we are transformed by a Divine Vision of the new Seed that the Fruit of our Spirit will bear.

Today I celebrate the completion of my 4th round of journals. I found the calendar in 2002, and mostly checked in on it every day. On October 18, 2015, 8 B’aatz I made the commitment to a dedicated daily practice to journal my thoughts through the 260-days of the Tzolk’in and paint the 260 glyphs. I initiated my own path as a Daykeeper.

The Elders say that in these times when so many of us walk alone, it is Worthy and Good to initiate our Self. A Sacred Ceremony of Initiation always marks a new Milestone of Meaning and Purpose in Spirit. We choose a new beginning. What we create in Spirit will be Balanced Below.

I suffered with seasonal depression most of my life. A decade before this journal, I thought “this too shall pass,” but it didn’t. It became a never-ending darkness. It followed a total financial collapse, divorce, and a personal tax burden that would haunt me for more than a decade. I found myself at 65 with nothing to look forward to. I’d already lost everything, sold in a yard sale I watch everything carried away. How could I ever have value again to another Human Being? I felt damaged beyond repair with nothing to live for, except to be alive for my children and grandchildren. I once held Christmas dinners, no longer possible in a small apartment where there’s hardly room for company. I felt like I’d even failed my children.

I dedicated myself to something “hard” so I could KNOW I’d given everything I had to give. I felt like I’d waited forever in darkness for an Inspiration that would never come. I’ve always called it my “last ditch effort,” though now I see it as a Divine Inspiration. I sign “in lak’ech” because I thought I was the most broken of all, and if there was hope for me, there was hope for everyone. Now I see the blessings that were always around me.

This journal marked the Beginning of a Miracle. I had something to live for. I was so afraid of not having anything to write about, I was up at 3am trying to come up with 2-3 paragraphs. Then when people actually read and followed the journal, I had to make sure I was sharing accurate information. So when I wasn’t writing, I was researching every Mayan resource I could find. I made some mistakes. You were along for the whole ride. There were times I thought about quitting, but I was driven by the Intention. I found myself doing it for you as much as myself.

Today, as I look back, God WAS the Inspiration. I was led to the path of coincidences, synchronicity, and Miracles. I remember the overwhelming feeling the first day that I realized I was happy for no reason. It was an epiphany of “life is good.” The waking nightmares ended and days began early in prayer and meditation. I began to wake up with the inspiration I would share in my journal. I would rush to paper, afraid I might forget the thoughts. I began to feel that the Daykeepers of each day were with me, sharing ideas over my left shoulder as I painted the glyphs. In one round of 260-days my whole life was turned around. I was happy. There were still bumpy days, but the understanding of the wave of energy helps me navigate those. I’m no longer afraid of failure, because the Creator will be waiting when I reach my own limit.

It all came down to being Conscious of my thoughts, and Conscious of My own Truth that a Creator DID Love me. That was the filter for every dark experience… believing in a Creator who held the Intention of Divine Justice for every Human Being. I learned how to forgive others, because we are all broken. Most of all I learned to forgive myself for all the bad choices that led me to such a dark place. A Creator Spoke to me of Unconditional Love in a language I Knew in my Heart.

Monkey/CHUEN helps us see the Beauty of the Darkness. Because of the darkness, I became the Hero that jumped in to save myself. I can hardly imagine now what life was once like. After 4 rounds, I am seeing the changes begin to manifest in the physical realm around me. I have a new and unlimited hope in my future, and I KNOW my Best Days are still to come. What more could I want to live for? I have more love in my life than I’ve ever known, worth waiting 65 years to discover. Some say we choose our incarnation on Earth. I haven’t thought enough to discern my Truth on that, but if it’s true, I believe I chose to save the best for last.

Today is a High Holy Day to acknowledge our Power through Spirit to create a reality of Unconditional Love and Happiness. The Gift of Creation is the Consciousness to Know our own thoughts. We don’t have to be subject to thoughts of darkness. Once we Know the Light of the Creator’s Love, all the suffering and despair of the world’s injustice becomes lost time that could be spent on Higher Thoughts of Love and Unlimited Possibilities to Create Love our Self. We don’t have to be “enough.” We were “born more than enough” in the image of a Supreme Creator.

Our Dream of living a life of Love is Perfected today by the Divine Justice of the Creator. A new way lies ahead, full of Miracles and Possibilities that the Creator is Longing for us to Know. Creating an experience of Love is the Reason for the Spark that was shared with us by the Creator. Love is the Reason for Consciousness. Every living thing around us Knows Love. Our Divine Justice is realizing the Power of the Gift, and the Truth of our own Divinity when we make the Choice to Believe in the Creator’s Unconditional Love,

Today, we’re guided to make a new commitment to our path of Spiritual Growth. On the Tzolk’in path of the Yucatec, 8 Monkey/CHUEN is the day we step into the new world we hold in our Dreams. We are just beginning the major transformation phase of our Yucatec Tzolk’in harvest season. Through a Gift of “Pure Spirit” we will Know the world of Higher Love that we’ve created. We will share with the new Seed of our Self, the Wisdom of our own Power to Create. By the Yucatec tradition, our new Seed will be born on 1 Crocodile/IMIX, Knowing it has a Divine Purpose. A Portal can magnify the strength of our conviction to ignite the Passion for a Higher Generation of Dreams.

Monkey/CHUEN demonstrates the way of creation as the Art of Living. We can see the threads of darkness as the medium by which we create a new experience of Light. Our Divine Justice is Light that overcomes every darkness. Human was placed in a material world where we would see a New Light every morning. Each day presents the opportunity for the Sacred Event of Unconditional Love.

To all my relations, may we initiate our Self to a new journey of Love. May we look back and celebrate the new Truth of Love we believe. May we Know that Every Leap of Faith holds a Promise of Divine Justice that will elevate our Faith into Believing. May we give thanks that there are “many ways to accomplish the same thing,” so that we can make the Choice of the way that makes us Happy. May all our Choices be grounded by an Intention to Love. May we dedicate ourselves to the Journey from darkness to Light. And, may we be transformed into a Light that is capable to shine our way through the dark.

Happy New Year. I wish you all the Happiness and Love that you were born to Know. Thank you for being a part of my Miracle. May the Sacred Exchange be returned by a Miracle, that Multiplies your Happiness and Love to Abundance.

8 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI)

Galactic Tone 8:  Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eights carefully weighs all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement ‘as above, so below,’ from simplicity to infinity, the energy of eight organizes all levels of creation, some eights are ‘neat freaks.’

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.
