THE TRECENA OF DEER/MANIK GUIDES A WAY
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 10 is the day of Manifestation. On Tone 10, what we have focused on and intended becomes Real. A Way we hold in our Consciousness as an Intention of Movement, engages an experience. Movement creates a Time in our Life that can be defined by a beginning and end. Our thoughts take on form as a “matter” in our life when we choose them as an “object” of our attention.
We were Inspired to manifest a Life of Higher Meaning and Purpose. Deer/MANIK intended for us to know we were given every Spiritual Tool that we need to Live as a Divine Human Being. The most important Tools are Vigilant Consciousness, and the Humility to Kneel to an Authority of Divine Will.
Only at an altar can we see beyond the Light of Human reason and imagination. When we kneel in humility, we cease to defend our Human reasons. We’re willing to See the Truth when we exist in the Light of the Creator’s Unconditional Love. Love will always be waiting for us at an altar.
Through an Offering of our Time and the Intention to Love, we’ll see the whole picture. Even where we took 2 steps back, a Divine Agency carried us 3 steps forward to Higher Ground.
Wisdom/CIB is the Day Sign of the Old Ones, the Ascended Masters that walked this way before. CIB connects our Consciousness to a Divine Resource of their Wisdom. On Wisdom/CIB the student-in-us appears with an open mind, eager to learn an application of Truth.
The glyph illustrates the Mind in its Highest State of Consciousness, emanating the Light of Wisdom and Forgiveness. CIB reminds us that Forgiveness is the “Key to the Kingdom.” CIB teaches us to see our past as an archaeological treasure.
The Deer’s Mission is to keep moving forward on a Mission of Love. Forgiveness is the Key to carry on. We get stuck on the past when we don’t forgive. We cease to look forward to the Blessing in our Future. Until we Forgive, we can’t see the whole picture. We won’t ever see what we need to see about our Self, as long as we’ve cast the whole blame on someone or something else. Through a dedicated path and the Vigilant Consciousness to forgive, Human limitations will cease to be an “obstacle we see in our way.” When our Heart Believes in Unconditional Love, we’ll give thanks for the Wisdom of the Experience – and just keep moving on to Higher Ground.
Wisdom/CIB resides in the South, the direction of our Relationships with one another and with the Natural World. Holding the Element of Earth, CIB relates to our tangible experiences of physicality. CIB is the Wisdom of All Time as it relates to Human Nature. The “Old Ones” hold the Wisdom of ALL Time and Human experience.
CIB is the Application of Wisdom that holds the Truth of our Divine Genius. As Beings of Duality, we hold the Genius to apply the Wisdom of one thing to another. We can hold a body of knowledge without having any Wisdom. Wisdom is an Application of Truth. “If this, then…” is the basic formula for every computer calculation.
The greatest measure through which to claim the Truth of Higher Ground is buried in the treasure of our past. With every transformation to Higher Consciousness we can see something new. The Elders say that to be successful in our Spiritual Development requires the courage to look at our self. The Cherokee Owl has the vision of an Eagle and can see through the darkness. The Owl is “the mystic ferryman that holds the torch aloft” for our return to the stars.
The Owl is a symbol of Wisdom and Authority, and known to hold the cunning of all the great hunters. Through a Transformation of Higher Consciousness we can claim the Wisdom and Power to be the Authority of our own Life.
Carl Jung proposed the concept of the “wise old man/woman” within. Jung defined the “wisdom of all time” as a collective consciousness passed down as cellular memories of the One. This Wisdom would always be a living part of us to guide us. Where does our “conscience” come from?
To all my relations, may we claim that Loving and Forgiving is always the Wise thing to do. We don’t have to go along for the ride, but we can allow others the same Freedom of Choice we must claim for our Self. May we forgive our Self for our own limitations. It only means we Intended something better.
We can hold a body of knowledge without any Wisdom. Wisdom is an application of the Truth we know. May we claim the Wisdom to know our Way, and the Vigilant Consciousness to Remember. May we give thanks for Divine Guidance within that insures we will always know the Wise thing to do.

10 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’)
Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.
Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons. A good day to sit on a rock.
Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’ : Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes. Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative. Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: My gift for a New Tzolk’in Round…
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide for daily aspects and events of the trecena.
My gift for this Tzolk’in round is linked there, a Tzolk’in Field Guide that has as much about the basic aspects of each day as I could think to put into it. The directions and the elements are aspects of Universal Laws that can be known in MANY ways, through many kinds of practice. My aim with the dates for each trecena, included for the next few years, was an intention that we could have everything for a day in one place at hand, if we didn’t have a computer.
ERRATA: I discovered an error in the Peak Tones listed for the Deer/MANIK trecena (our next journey). A corrected “Revision 1” was uploaded to the 13-day Trecena Guide page on June 6, 2020. If you downloaded the Field Guide on an earlier date, please download the corrected version as a replacement.
