MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
The Peak Tone 8 initiates the Transformation phase of the trecena. Our climb to the top of the pyramid was a Human effort of Faith. Energy shifts from a climb to our descent as an Unseen Force begins to draw us forward.
Tone 8 holds the Intention of Divine Justice with the Creator’s return in the Promise of a Sacred Exchange. The Effort of Consciousness we invested in holding the Vision of our Dream, is Balanced by the Equal Effort of a Divine Agency.
Wind/IK is the Breath of Life and Breath of Spirit. Through the Element of Air we are all connected as One as we Breathe and are Breathed by the Creator. The Cherokee Whirlwind is the double-helix that carries the smoke of our prayers to the Creator. “Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom.”
Each Transformation builds on the Higher Ground of the Last. We Ascended from the Wind/IK trecena and now IK returns on the 8th Tone of Transformation as the Wind beneath the Eagle’s Wings.
The Element of Air relates to the mind, positioned in the North, the direction of the Divine Mind and the Collective Wisdom of the Ascended Masters, and the Wisdom of our own Experience. 8 Wind/IK is the Breath of Transformation that can Purify our Thoughts.
MAYAN HOLY DAY OF PURIFICATION: Tone 8 is the day of the trecena marked for the observation of Holy Days and Sacred Ceremonies. The 13 Tones reflect the 13 Hours of Solar Light known by the Maya to begin at 5AM to 5PM. The 8th Hour is Noon, when the Sun resides in its zenith, its position of Highest Illumination. Tone 8 is the number of “pure spirit.” 8 Wind/IK is observed by the K’iche Maya as the Holy Day of Purification. The Voice that Spoke the world into Creation, offers a Purification of our Mind through the Illumination that we were created just the same. All the “rules of the game” that apply to the Creation of Mother Earth, apply to Human just the same. The physical laws we learn through Mother Earth demonstrate a Divine Justice that upholds the Authority of the Creation. A Divine set of rules insures the balance of Divine Justice for everything. The Promise of Justice is the Divine Covenant of Harmony and Equity and the Creator’s Rule of Unconditional Loving the Whole of Humanity. Our thoughts and minds can be made pure, through our Consciousness of the Authority that is held in the Breath of the Creator.
The 13th uinal is a Celebration of the new “I Am” that we’ve created as an Intention of our own Heart’s Desire. The Divine Purpose given to our Ascension is the Revelation of our own Transformation. Our eyes of Consciousness are opened to a Re-Creation of our Self and the Seed that was born from the Fruit of our Harvest. Our Mind is Changed about our Self.
If we look closely, we’ll see the Truth that it was the Creator who changed us. We only volunteered by Choice for the Creator to make it so. The beginning of every Creation, the climb of every trecena in the Tzolk’in round, began in the Unity of Being One. Every Intention of Spiritual Growth and every Dream was Initiated by the Breath of Divine Spirit, a Voice from Above. Through the Offering of our Human Will, our Consciousness made it possible for the Dreams of the Creator to be born through us, in our own way as our own Expression of Love.
The Tzolk’in (Tsol keen) was among the Creations of Divine Intention that shared with us as the Calendar of Life. The K’iche refer to their calendar (Cholq’ij) as the Saq’ Be’ – the “White Road” that leads to our Divine Destiny. The calendars of the North (Yucatec) and South (K’iche) view “the Road” from two different perspectives. One turns clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. The K’iche start their round from the center from a Yucatec perspective, beginning the round on 1 Dog/OC, a White Day Sign of the North representing Unconditional Love. One tradition observes our perfection in the very beginning, and a Meaning and Purpose to carry this Light into our Unknown Journey. The other tradition celebrates this Perfection as the Completion of our Human Transformation, at the ending.
Our beginning was made in the Choice to be reunited with the Creator, Offering our Self into the Hand that Created the world and all its Rules of Divinity. To live in Integrity in this realm of Spirit, the Greatest Rule was Unconditional Love.
On 8 Wind/IK (Iq’) the K’iche Maya observe the Day of Purification offering their prayers to the North.
Don Alejandro “Wandering Wolf,” the 13th Generation shaman who serves as the Spiritual Leader of all the Maya says. “When we make our prayers to the North we should mention the name “Ikab’ alam. Our grandfathers know that our air is needed for life and without air we would not survive. For that reason it is important that we talk to Ikib’ alam so that he may protect us, so that nothing bad will happen to us.”
I looked up the name to see what it meant. I should not be so surprised that it is One and the Same as Ek’ Balam, the destination of the manifestation of a Dream we shared together in the Yucatan on October 31st, Illuminated by the Black “Star” Jaguar.
In the Quiche (K’iche) Maya tradition, the Balams were the four gods who made possible the creation of man after two previous failed attempts. They were known as B’alam Agab (Night Jaguar) B’alam Quitze (Smiling Jaguar) Iqi B’alam (Dark Jaguar) and Mahucatah (Not Right Now). According to one myth, their fellow gods grew jealous of their abilities and so clouded their sight, rendering them mortal. (The B’alams)
The Jaguar/IX was bound to Mother Earth, though remains the shape-shifter that is able to cross the dimensions of Spirit. Together, we consecrated an altar at Ek’ Balam to celebrate a Destiny Kin of Comprehension and Understanding that held the Purpose to share this Light with the world, 12 Sun/AHAU, the Destiny Kin of Ian Xel Lungold.
What is created from the Realm of Spirit is balanced in the world below. We have an altar placed for “all Time” waiting for us to return to, to celebrate an Ascension that is carried out by the Breath of Spirit, the Unconditional Love that was spoken at our Beginning.
May we remember the name Ek’ Balam in the prayers of our own Sacred Ceremony. May we claim that the Creator heard the Voice of our Prayers. May we employ the “Earth Magic” of the Jaguar by lifting our prayers of Gratitude for all the Magic of the Above that was shared with the Creation, Below. As we claim our own Jaguar Spirit, may we take note of a Divine Synchronicity, that on the day that marks the Purification of our Spirit, is aligned with a worldly intention of Thanksgiving. Our hearts are purified through our Intention to count the Blessing of a Divine Creation.
Our worldly observance of Thanksgiving was not on any calendar when the Tzolk’in and the Cho were created. Yet, a calendar of Divine Consciousness fell in perfect alignment with the date. May we claim it as the first Miracle in our cycle of Ascending to a new “I Am.” May we return to Ek’ Balam to Remember the Holy Ground we shared together. May we claim the zenith of its Illumination as the same Light that shines on us now, that reached across the dimensions of Spirit to Remember Us wherever we are in the Moment.
As we Celebrate a Creator who’s Divine Plan included a Way. The Creator spoke a Dynamic Dream, one that exceeded the perfection of the Macro to the Micro, a Creator that imagined a Purpose for every moment of our Time on Mother Earth. May we see the Miracles beyond our imagination how every moment could be accounted for and how every moment of our Life offers an Equal Opportunity for Communion and Relationship with the One who Spoke the world and Humanity into Creation. We were offered the Highest “name-drop” of all as our Eternal Companion of Unconditional Love. We were made One in the Highest Circle of Wisdom shared by the Creator and the Ascended Masters. Who in the world, could claim a Greater Advantage of Authority?
The Whirlwind is also known as the 13th Dancer, the Ascended One that leads the Dance of the 12 Below. Our dance of life is led by a Force of Wind/IK that holds the power to change the entire landscape of our lives.
The Cherokee saw the 12 constellations as representing 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This Transformation toward our Ascension reflects the whirling of life within the Breath and Light of Creation that spoke the Promise of Justice and an Illumination of our own Divine Purpose as the Highest Words of Love.
To all my relations, may we Celebrate the Higher Ground that was offered as our own place of Creation. Creations born of our shared Intentions of Unconditional Love, are guaranteed by a Divine Promise to Be With Us Always. No matter where we are on Mother Earth, we could claim our own place of Holy Ground. Just as Earth was made Holy Ground, so are our Human bodies a Creation of Earth Raised Up into the form of a Living Being of Divine Consciousness, to know what we are “made of” and what we were Destined to Become. Created by the Same Breath of Life and Spirit that defined ALL the Laws, our Minds can be Purified by the Consciousness that a Divine Law of Justice for Humanity was put in place from the very beginning, as a Guarantee of Love that would stand for All Time.
May we each return to the Sacred Moment when we held the Divine Consciousness of standing together on Holy Ground. May we claim that the Ascension of our Spirit was Created there for us to return to, Always, and Now. May we mention the name Ek’ Balam in our Prayers of Gratitude as a Miracle we created in Spirit that today is Balanced in the Below, a Miracle that will stand as a “Forever Place” of “Pure Spirit.”
Ek’ Balam offered a Higher Consciousness of our Oneness with Mother Earth, and a Truth that every living thing holds the Consciousness to Know Love. It was a Truth we were given to believe without any proof except the Knowing. The Illumination was embodied in an experience of being Seen and Acknowledged by every living thing, and seen by the Jaguar who guides us there by the footprints it left for us to follow.
May we crystallize our path to this place as a ley line that would forever mark the way back to our own place of Holy Ground. On a Divine Day of Thanksgiving, may we count all the Blessings of a Creator of Unconditional Love. May we count this Miracle of synchronicity among our Blessings as only one of many more Miracles the Jaguar could lead us to, as the shape-shifter who is present in the Winds that blow from every direction, and who resides in stealth at every Sacred Altar on Earth, and who hears the Breath of our Prayers.
I am Thankful for you!
in lak’ech, i am another you

8 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
Galactic Tone 8: Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eight. Eights carefully weigh all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement, “As above, so below”. From simplicity to infinity, the energy of Eight organizes all levels of creation. Some Eights are “Neat Freaks”.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.
