MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 7 is the place of Balancing the “As Above, So Below.” Tone 7 is a place of an accounting to see “all that is, and all that is not.” Placed at the top of the pyramid, we have a 360 view and are given intention to reflect on the experiences that brought us here.
We’re preparing to enter the Transformation phase of this trecena, carried out by a Divine Agency. The same effort we applied to Spiritual Growth will be matched by an Intention of Divine Justice. On Tone 7 we see what we’ve learned by our own Intention.
Wind/IK is the Breath of Life and Breath of Spirit. Positioned in the North, IK resides in the direction of the Ancient Ones and the Collective Wisdom of those who have gone before. Through the Element of Air we are all connected. We breathe and were breathed by the Creator. The first sign of life we look for is the Sacred Breath.
7 is also seen as a symbol of the Jaguar, the nahaul of vision who’s magic lies in its Gratitude and Love for Mother Earth. The Jaguar guards the altars where Human and the Creator are Conscious of each other. The Jaguar is the shape-shifter capable to cross dimensions. Jaguar Knows the Womb of the Mother (IMIX) and hears her beating heart.
Today our Awareness is drawn to the “Spiritual Gift” through which we are One in the Whole. The Wisdom of the North is about our mental process and capabilities of Consciousness. The Element of Air is a Gift of Life and Communion with the Creator. A Gift of Knowing is offered through the Wind. The Cherokee call it the Whirlwind, referring to the double helix of smoke that carries our prayers to the Great Spirit. Mother Earth illustrates our path to Higher Consciousness as a “forever turning,” balancing the Above and the Below.
The T-shaped portals carved in stone were used to observe the stars and to magnify the sound of the Wind. The Elders always taught us to “listen to the wind.” Whenever we felt a passing breeze or heard the wind rustling in the leaves, they said to stop and remember what we were thinking. The Wind can draw our attention to a Divine Response to our thoughts.
Wind/IK has the power to change things quickly. In the past year we’ve seen Wind alter the landscape and change many lives. It was reflected in the Mayan Calendars planetary cycles under the Year Bearer 5 Wind/IK, an Empowerment of Spirit, in the Galactic Week 1 Flint/ETZNAB, the Revealer of Hidden Truth. We live in the rubble of a changing landscape. A Big Wind has the power to turn the tides. Wind illustrates the Creator’s Dominion and Authority over Mother Earth.
The Creator who Spoke the world into Creation, issued the Final Word at our Beginning. The One with Authority over the All, made the plan before we were born for our Ascension to Spiritual Consciousness. The Creator’s Word is a promise we can stand on. What was begun will be finished.
The Wisdom/CIB trecena shows the way to draw the Inspiration of Spirit into our everyday lives. The Old Ones know the shortest path from Point A to Point B. We’ve been listening for the Sound of the Creator’s Voice, the Divine Collective Consciousness. The Maya’s closest definition of “God” is “everything that ever was or ever will be” (the Hunab Ku).
Wind/IK calls for a Spoken Communication. There is Power in our Spoken words. Sharing words of Love and Truth holds the Power to Create those experiences. The words we Speak live on as a Vibration. Unconditional Love generates the Highest Vibration that draws lower vibration into sympathy.
What we say matters. We only need to reflect on how long we remember the words that were spoken to us as children. The words we share in our conversations become a fixture after we walk away. What we hear is influenced by our own interpretation. Our words are a dynamic force. Our words have the staying power for a new interpretation. The Creator’s words of Love and Truth live on and so do ours.
Wind/IK calls us to speak in the Integrity of our Truth. We’re called to “say what we mean, and mean what we say.” The Bible discourages making Oaths to one another. Broken promises are a source of Human suffering we are held accountable for. The Creator who intends to “keep his word” holds the ultimate authority.
The Truth drawn from One Another’s words can easily be blown away. We Believe only when WE Know. Today is an assessment of OUR OWN TRUTH.
Direction is one of the characteristics of the wind that we make note of. It’s direction can forecast the weather systems and tides, allowing us to see into the future.
Those who take on the Role of the Fire Keepers hold a vigil with the Winds. They are taught by the Elders to pay attention to the direction of the wind by the flames of the Fire. Also important was noting the direction toward which the first log fell.
I observed the ways of the Fire Keeper without knowing what it meant. It was among those questions that if you asked the Elders, they’d answer, “The Answer is in the Question.” (The next question you know NOT to ask is “Huh? What does THAT mean?”)
The reasons I sign “In Lak’ech” is because I believe that what is happening to me is also happening with you. No matter when we started, no matter how many Sacred Fires we’ve attended, the Promise of the Creator is being fulfilled. We don’t EARN our way into a Divine Relationship. All that is ever required of us is to keep lifting our Prayers to Spirit.
From a Human perspective everything looks pretty screwed up. Life is so upside-down we don’t know the Truth from one minute to the next. From an unconscious perspective, our entire Fate is spinning our of control. Through Conscioiusness, we find our Peace is within, residing in Our Center of Creation.
Mother Earth is the source of all knowledge. Her Elements, Directions, and Movement are all dynamic Sources of Wisdom. They present us with a way of discernment – a way to see things. A Creator who intended its Word to be Truth, to fulfill every promise we are given, guaranteed that we would Know Spirit by placing us in the Center of the Experience. Like the top of the pyramid, the Truth is presented far and wide all around us. We were guaranteed to see it as soon as we “opened our eyes.”
To all my relations, may we open our eyes and ears to Spiritual Inspiration. May we claim a Spoken Promise of the Divine. May we cling to our Spiritual Inspiration like a treasure, and reflect on all that it is. May we clearly see the Faith that was accomplished by a new Intention. May we watch our prayers rise along the trail of a double-helix of smoke. May we note the gentle breezes and the flickering of a flame. May we meet the Sunrise, offering our prayers to each of the 4 directions. Releasing cornmeal as an offering from our Right Hand, we could watch which direction it is carried by the Wind. May we give thanks that Spiritual Growth WE started, will be Balanced in the Above and the Below. May we Breathe in the Life of the Natural World and be Breathed to Life Again by the Creator.
In lak’ech, I am another you

7 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of divine will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.
