THE TRECENA OF EAGLE/MEN: LIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
8 Wind / IK
Greetings Beloved Kin,
HOLY DAY OF PURIFICATION:
8 Wind/IK is observed as the Holy Day of Purification. Tone 8 marks the Creator’s Highest Intention of Justice for the Harmony and Equity of the Whole. Human Love and Divine Love are drawn together as the Dream Meant to Be.
Wind/IK holds the Power of the Hurricane to change the landscape of our life and turn everything around, to the Highest Ends of Love. There are Human reasons and Divine reasons for every Dream our Heart Desires. When they are Purified by the One Above, our Heart can claim both dreams are meant to be.
Through the eyes of the Eagle, we SEE the TRUTH of the SPARK – that, the Love we reach for IS ONLY A SPARK of the end we’ll know. 13 Sun/AHAU is the End planned from the Beginning… the Truth of Answered Prayers, revealed in its Highest Light. Like the Cherokee Flowers, our eyes are trained to the Light Above.
8 Wind/IK offers a Divine Breath of Life to a New Dream for the Future. On our Eagle flight, we feel the Truth to lean in to a Higher Dream of Love that blesses the whole. We don’t have to see the end, with the Wind under our wings.
The portal “T” on the glyph is a symbol of the Tree of Life. Our Ascension is a journey to the Center of the axis mundi. In the Eye of a Storm our Life is turned around.
Wind/IK resides in the North as the Truth of our own “True North.” At the apex of our Ascension, we’re turned by the Stillness in our Heart that can stand on the Light of our Dream. Standing in the direction of Divine Wisdom, we apply the Truth that a Power of Love and Beauty that’s greater than our Self, knows Divine Ways and Means beyond our Imagination. All we have to see is the Spark, for the One that accelerates the Fire of Love.
The Element of Air relates to our Common field of thoughts and our capabilities of Consciousness. By Divine Design we are ALWAYS reaching to Know “what it is” and “what it means.” The Creation was given to Know Beauty as an Expression of Love.
We’ve witnessed the Truth of Love that our Heart wants to see again, on another scale of Time, from another angle and a different perspective. Our Human heart wants to know that all the Love we’ve imagined is possible, because we’ve see it – it was possible for someone else.
8 Wind/IK can raise our Highest Hope beyond Believing to Knowing. We were created to See and Know the Truth of the One Above. An expanding universe reflects the Truth that we were united in the beginning. All the Beauty that expands, was the Truth of the Whole One, that became Two and multiplied forever. Today we can Know our Self as Beauty created by the Expanding Light of the One.
To all my relations, may we give thanks for the One that carries us through a Life of Change. May we give thanks for the Provision of Divine Agency… to finish what is beyond the Reasons we want to know.
May we kneel to the One who shares the Truth our Heart needs to know.
in lak’ech, i am another you

On 8 Wind/IK (Iq’) the K’iche Maya offer their prayers for Purification to the North.
Don Alejandro, the High priest of the Maya guides us to offer our Spoken prayers to the “Heart of Sky” and “Heart of Heaven.” He said to remember the Balams, the Jaguars who were given a second life to connect the Truth of Love, Above and Below. May we create the Sacred Sanctuary, kneeling in gratitude, to know the Truth that can change our Heart and Mind.
‘Now it still ripples, now it still murmurs, ripples, it still sighs, still hums and it is empty under the sky.’
‘There is not yet one person, one animal, bird, fish, crab, tree, rock, hollow, canyon, meadow, forest. Only the sky alone is there; the face of the earth is not clear. Only the sea alone is pooled under all the sky; there is nothing whatever gathered together. It is at rest: not a single thing stirs. It is held back, kept at rest under the sky.’
‘Whatever there is that might be is simply not there: only murmurs, ripples, in the dark, in the night. Only the Maker(s), Modeler(s) alone, the Sovereign and the Plumed Serpent, the Bearers, Begetters are in the water, a glittering light. They are there, they are enclosed in quetzal feathers, in blue-green.’
THE JAGUAR’S EARTH MAGIC OF GRATITUDE
I’m grateful for a Power Greater than myself.

8 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
Galactic Tone 8: Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eight. Eights carefully weigh all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement, “As above, so below”. From simplicity to infinity, the energy of Eight organizes all levels of creation. Some Eights are “Neat Freaks”.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
