Earth-orbiting satellites detected a M1.2 class solar flare at 08-Nov-2026 at 18:27:00 UTC (12:27:00 PM CST). An R1 (minor) radio blackout is possible on the sunlit side of Earth.
UPDATE—we now have image (above) of today’s M1.2-class solar flare (18:27 UTC). It erupted from sunspot 4566 at solar coordinates S7W03. That is close to the center of the solar disk.
What this means: the flare site is squarely Earth-facing. If this flare launched a coronal mass ejection, it would likely be aimed at Earth — watch for possible geomagnetic storming and auroras in the next 1-3 days.

CHANCE OF X-FLARES TODAY: Unstable sunspot AR4566 has doubled in size this weekend, and it is directly facing Earth. With a ‘beta-gamma-delta’ magnetic field, it harbors energy for strong explosions. NOAA forecasters estimate a 60% chance of M-class solar flares and a 20% chance of X-flares on Nov. 8th.
A stream of Solar Wind is on its way to earth from a coronal hole that some have likened to a witch on a broom.

Activity died down as my usual luck but then after over an hour of waiting this really intense substorm came from nowhere. Panic change from 50mm to wide angle, find focus and snap 3 shots, then it was over.

The New Moon (November 9, 2026) occurs in Scorpio at 16 degrees and 53 minutes. Scorpio is associated with transformation and death, focusing on emotional honesty, intimacy, power dynamics, deep, transformation, and releasing hidden patterns or grudges.
Both Mercury and Venus are retrograde in the same window (turning direct on November 13), meaning this new moon is less about launching brand-new external ventures and more about revisiting, repairing, reconnecting, and gaining closure on old stories. The new moon forms a wide square to the Mars-Jupiter alignment in Leo, adding a dash of friction, ego sensitivity, and intensity.
The Full Beaver Supermoon peaks on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, 14:53 UTC (08:53 CST) just days before Thanksgiving, making it the final Full Moon of autumn.
November’s full moon marks the beginning of the end. In many different cultures, November’s full moon is intimately connected with death and loss, on both a literal and symbolic level. The Celts, for instance, called it the Reed Moon, comparing the mournful music made by wind instruments to the ghoulish sounds of spirits being drawn into the underworld. And not without good reason – the Full Mourning Moon marks a dangerous time of the year where people could easily slip into the underworld with a single misstep.
We may enjoy the luxury of winter coats and central heating now, but freezing to death during the long, dark winters used to be a very real threat to early inhabitants of Northern America. In order to survive, making warm winter clothing out of beaver fur was crucial for American colonists and Native American tribes. This is why November’s full moon is also known as the Beaver Moon. The November Full Moon meant death to the beavers as they were building their homes… a “blood sacrifice” so that others might live through the winter.
The chaos that follows a Major Life Change presents a time for releasing the past, so that the future may go on in a good way. Our thoughts can be turned to old grudges or unfinished family business. What we once saw as a major support system may now appear to have been an illusion. It’s Time to release the past. The sacrifice of family is among the hardest choices we face.

In the trecena of Deer/MANIK, we’re guided to stand silently without defense. In Time, the Truth will speak for itself. The Dog doesn’t hold a grudge when an offering of Love is turned away. It moves on to the next opportunity, knowing Love is the Truth revealed in the end.
When a relationship fails both sides played a part in the end. We can choose to be a victim, or we can leave Love in place and move on.
The Sun is releasing Solar Winds and Eruptions from its Center, aimed directly toward Earth. The coldest days of winter lie ahead. Everyone holds a place around the Light of the Fire that shines at the center of our Life. The Deer leads in silence without defense to stand in the integrity of the Truth.
