CME Arrives Early

THIS WAS A VERY FAST CME: The CME that struck Earth today crossed the sun-Earth divide in only ~25 hours. That’s fast. For comparison, most CMEs take 3 or 4 days to get here. The high speed of this CME (~1660 km/s) places it in the top few percent of all CMEs observed in the past 30 years.
Since the launch of the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) in 1995, SOHO coronagraphs have cataloged thousands of CMEs. The vast majority were slower than 1,000 km/s. The fastest CME, observed on July 23, 2012, was clocked at 2,900 to 3,500 km/s.
Today’s CME, while extremely fast, is only half as fast as a true “monster CME.” Nevertheless, it is capable of producing severe to extreme geomagnetic storms with auroras in the USA as far south as Arizona, Texas, and southern California.
NOTE: Solar Winds were already blowing when Sunspot 4341 erupted with an X1.9-Class Solar Flare aimed in the same direction.
THE STORM IS SUBSIDING NOW: A severe (G4) geomagnetic storm that began on Jan. 19th when a super-fast CME hit Earth is now subsiding. Minor (G1) to moderate (G2) storms may continue on Jan. 20th as Earth’s magnetic field settles back into a less-stormy state. Arctic sky watchers should be able to see auroras for the next ~24 hours as the solar wind blows faster than 800 km/s in the CME’s wake.

Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.
Flint/ETZNAB: Mirror of reality. As a struck flint, these persons are the divine sparks of intelligence. Flint’s innate abilities are utilized to discriminate emotions from fact. Flint persons stand tireless to protect, defend, or cure others by personal sacrifice. By courageously wielding the sword of truth, falsehoods are cut away. Flints, it was said, can receive information on inter-personal troubles or evil plots of others by reflecting in an obsidian mirror. Their valiant service as warriors of the truth must be impeccable or they will experience sufferings of accidents, misunderstandings and gossip.
