SPACEWEATHER: NASA Telescope Launch; In-Flight View of Lunar Eclipse

The Big Picture from Above

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 08/31/2026

SPACE TELESCOPE LAUNCHED: There’s a new great observatory in space. NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched this morning at 7:26 a.m. EDT onboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. Roman’s images will be as sharp as Hubble’s, but its field of view is 100 times wider, capturing in weeks what older telescopes needed decades to see.

IBERIA FLIGHT 1473: It may have been the most photofantastic eclipse flight ever. On Aug. 12th, Iberia 1473 flew through the shadow of the Moon during a total solar eclipse over Spain. We already featured one image. Now take a look at this one.

Juan Carlos Casado took the picture while the plane was 31,000 feet above Castilla y León, Spain. HIgh above the clouds and haze, he could see not only the eclipsed sun, but also Mercury, Jupiter and Regulus.

Casado compared the positions of the stars and planets to theoretical ephemerides. They agreed to within a few arcminutes. His photo, thus, formed a precise map of the sky.

“I noticed something odd about the horizon,” he says. “From 31,000 feet, Earth’s true horizon should dip about 2.91° below eye level–a consequence of the planet’s curvature. But in the photo, the visible horizon is located at -2.28°.” More than half a degree of Earth was missing.

Where did it go? It was swallowed by wildfire smoke and clouds–the very reasons Casado chartered the plane in the first place.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

The month of Elul on the Jewish calendar is Time to take a closer look at the dark matters within, in preparation for the “Days of Awe”(awe ha moments). By the Mayan calendar the news is between the Alpha and Omega of 12 Sun/AHAU and 13 Crocodile/IMIX. AHAU is the Supreme Lord of Creation beyond the stars. IMIX is the Divine Mother of Compassionate Love and Discernment. The Intention lies between the Truth that God Will, and the Divine Inspiration of a Father who brings the Darkness to Light.

Sun/AHAU is a Day of Revelation, IMIX sets us on Fire with Divine Inspiration. The Nancy Grace Roman Telescope will see more, faster.

THE JOURNAL FOR THE OFFERING/MULUC TRECENA IS DEDICATED TO IAN XEL LUNGOLD, 12 SUN/AHAU

Happy Mayan Birthday, Ian Xel Lungold! Ian shared a Revelation that reflects a Divine Order of Time. He introduced the Mayan Calendars to many, AFTER the Time had come for the Maya to share the mystery with the world.  His descriptions were all I had in the beginning, and they were enough to change my life by tracking my thoughts through the Count of Days.

I was offered an opportunity to visit Cancun to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Those plans fell through and it turned into a solo pilgrimage, when I discovered the October 31, 2018 was Ian’s Mayan Birthday (12 Sun/AHAU), thirteen years after his passing. Then I had to go, compelled by the Synchronicity of the Time. It was a Time and Place I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.  The experience changed my life… not in the moment, but after I came home.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 12: Understanding. Twelve is a gift of great capacity of retrospection. It is this ability that allows Twelve to connect disassociated parts into a (new) functioning whole. The energy of Twelve is that which presents a new piece of understood information or accumulated experience to be applied.

Sun/AHAU: Day of the ancestors and connection to their guidance. The divine face of the sun – lord, musician, singer, dancer, and marksman. Suns are artistic, heroic athletes, visionaries with wise judgment who lead and defend the people. So much is expected from themselves and by other people that unfulfilled expectations are a certainty. An accumulation of these disappointments may lead Sun to evade responsibilities, not accept corrections and even build resentment and disdain towards others. Suns should simplify their lives to be able to rise and shine with unconditional love once again.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for the wisdom and continued honored memory of our ancestors.

Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI EK: Symbol is the Sun, place of abode of Great Spirit. The Sun creates, nurtures, and is the super communicator, the way station that relays messages and energy from other stars in the galaxy; provides energy for channeling information from the Ancestors; speaking the Living Language of Light, which ignites the consciousness in others. Gold is the color of courage and opportunity of wealth. Creative arts, master craftsman expressing divinity and wisdom through their creations. The face of the flower follows the Sun gathering the fire of creativity, illuminating harmony and balance, resonating peace and continuity within the human spirit. This is the Sign of the Chalice of the Infinite, Caldron of Creation.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page.
