1 Dog/OC (Cherokee, Wolf/ KANA’TI) – Love IS.

1 Dog/OC Trecena

1 Dog/OC Trecena

Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with.

Dog/OC: Loyalty and faithfulness that survives beyond death.  This was the first day of creation energy in this 4th world, setting the energy for love, loyalty and faithfulness on the 5200 year cycle.  Heart chakra energy is involved so that we can move to the state of “unconditional love” with compassion.  All sexual desire issues that are not in harmony will surface to be cleared.

Cherokee, Wolf/Kana’ti – O’Oj: Dog/OC is a symbol of Sirius (Dog star) and Antares; one or the other is always visible but never at the same time.  Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots.  All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance; connecting a link between the worlds; wolf is the day sign associated with teachers, pathfinders and transformers.

Love IS.

Galactic Tone 1 brings us to the beginning of a new trecena under the day sign of Dog/OC. Dog/OC will be the underlying energy influencing each of the 13 days in this cycle.

Dog/OC opens the 13-day trecena of devotion, companionship, self-sacrifice and unconditional love. This trecena has the power to teach us that love is the key to understanding, and the way to live in harmony with all our relations.

Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

These are difficult times in the world and we are not alone in our suffering. We may be hurt by the behavior of those around us. In “The Four Agreements” one of Josesph Rael’s principle teachings is to ‘not take things personally.’   Being the Dog, means letting go of our ego and the expectations we may place on others. Instead we can learn to hold them in a place of love with our vision of them held in their best light. This is what is truly needed in the world and what we would hope for in return.

To all my relations, may our hearts be open for you to lead the way through our darkness and to receive the understanding made evident through the light of love. May the energies of Dog/OC make of me a loyal companion and steadfast in the unconditional love that brings all truth to light.

  1. Great – thanks! It is only recently that I learned that the first day of each tracena (no.1) plus its archetype energy (Dog in this case), remains relevant and underlies the entire 13 days – in addition to the usual day and number energies during that time. So there are basically at least 3 energies at play on any particular day. I’ve heard that in addition to that there is another layer! Its all quite complex, but very interesting.

  2. Thank you, JJ. There are so many dimensions to consider. The Tzolkin Butterfly (the chart of kins on my Tzolkin page) illustrates other other special aspects. The columns left to right (uninals) illustrate where we are in the 260 day cycle – representative of a gestation cycle. Green kins represent galactic portals of activation – days with potential of heightened awareness. The Mayan Explorer linked on that page is the most comprehensive source I’ve found for detailing aspects of each day. (Select a date on the wheel, and each menu link offers its deeper aspects.)

I experience the Tzolkin as a living calendar that illustrates cycles that I’m following whether I realize it or not. So, as a daily practice my understanding is increased when I consider “what’s going on with me right now?” From that perspective everyone can interpret their own Truth of what inspiration the calendar may be offering. (Keeping a journal also helps me go back to compare my experiences of that tone and day sign.) in lak’ech another student

  3. Thank you Debra for introducing me to the Tzolkin Butterfly – there are aspects there which I haven’t seen before in other calculators, for example the past and destiny elements… that’s like opening two more doors… amazing (!). I have noticed there are are Mayanists who do in-depth readings for a fee, but ideally it would be better if one could learn it all individually, although no doubt, the calendar is relatively complex.

I fully agree with your 2nd paragraph – very well said (I’m trying to keep a mental journal).

  4. There’s a lot more in-depth calculations that can be done. Right now, I’m getting the most out of the daily signs and a greater awareness of the trecenas is new for me too. Every 260 round, it seems something new about the calendar reveals itself. Definitions that seemed obscure now seem clearer. Since 8 Batz (new year), I’m also starting to pick up on what seems a natural order in the progression of the trecenas.
