MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
The final peak day of this 13-day trecena brings the potential for a change in perspective. Tone 9 asks for our patience, for there is something more we must learn to complete our new understanding.
The trecena of Storm/CAUAC has been teaching us ways we may renew our spiritual energy. Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign known for offering new Spiritual Tools.
TRECENA OF STORM/CAUAC
9 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
Road to Revival: Day 9
Galactic Tone 9 asks us to see something from a broader perspective. We are asked to look deeper into something that has been on our mind.
This is a very important day for a courageous self assessment. Deer/MANIK has a Spirit Tool for every limitation. This is not a shaming moral inventory, but an objective fact-finding mission. Deer/MANIK can share the Spiritual Tool to overcome every limitation that we uncover and shares the power of Harmonic Resonance.
To all my relations, may we pay attention and take note of how we stand in our own way. May we share our deepest struggles in a heart-to-heart with God. Through our surrender to God’s Will we give permission for a Divine Intervention. In the Divine Language of our feelings – we can express our appreciation and thankfulness for the perfect way God cares for us.
SPIRIT TOOL SHARE: The God Box
The God Box was a spiritual tool shared with me long ago. When there was a worry, it was written on a piece of paper and put into The God Box. Like a sacred ceremony, the ritual marks the occasion of something turned over to God. The box can also be used for prayers of gratitude or decisions of forgiveness. This is similar in concept to the traditional practice of making prayer tie bundles with tobacco that were offered to the fire.
