MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 8 is the Holy Day of the trecena, the hour of zenith light. Tone 8 is most always the day for Sacred Ceremonies, Blessings, and Initiations.
Every Tone 8 we are changed by a Higher Consciousness of Truth. 8 Eagle/MEN is the Divine Justice for the Eagle’s Intention of the last trecena, to lift us up for a Higher View.
Holy Day of Communion
The K’iche Maya observe 8 Eagle/MEN as a Holy Day of Communion. My own 9 Eagle/MEN feels like I’m flapping my wings instead of soaring. There is a discomfort of not knowing what to do. I need my own Eagle Intermediaries.
In honor of the Holy Day, this post shares some links to the K’iche count of days for a Light from the South. The Astrology page is also updated with some Light on our discontent with Kapacha’s Astrology for the Soul.
The Four Pillars
8 Tz’ikin (Eagle/MEN) (22nd August 2019) may be the day when the big picture is finally revealed to the world. It is the day when the new vision combines with the old to bring prosperity.
With the 8 representing wholeness and Tz’ikin representing the vision, this may be the day when the big picture is finally revealed to the world. It is the day when the new vision combines with the old to bring prosperity.
The energy of the days numbered 8 can be seen as an overlap, where the novelty of the energy of the number 1 combines with the energy of the ending of number 7. It is the seam between the new fabric and the old, that which joins the previous weaving to the current. As such it can be seen as a combination of energies, a re-imagining of an old principle or vision, again breathing new life into an existing idea.
See Entire Post for 8 Tz’ikin (8 Eagle/MEN) at The Four Pillars
Note: All the traditions observe the same Tones and Day Sign energies and Tzolk’in count, though there are differences in directions and opposite seasons between the North and South.

Element of Water for Sacred Ceremony
Eagle/MEN holds the Element of Water, the medium that holds the Ether of Spirit. Water is used for the purpose of blessings, purification, and initiations. We can honor a Holy Day of Communion with our own ritual and ceremony of prayers to Ask for our own Communion with the Creator.

8 Eagle/MEN (Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI)
Galactic Tone 8: Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eight. Eights carefully weighs all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement ‘as above, so below,’ from simplicity to infinity, the energy of eight organizes all levels of creation, some eights are ‘neat freaks.’
Eagle/MEN: Intermediary between Heaven and Earth. Due to the Eagles superior point of view and keen intelligence, they achieve material abundance and good fortune. A messenger gifted with patience and a deep sense of value, Eagle brings hope and trust on the wings of Spirit. Eagle persons are very detail oriented and technically inclined. Compassionate service to others sustains prosperity for Eagle personas as the flapping of wings would sustain their bird brothers. If Eagle becomes viciously competitive or possessive, greed and jealousy cause a fall from the heights. Eagles, being blessed with freedom of movement, should be aware of escapism. Eagles may be tempted to just fly away from troubles by using indulgences.
Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI: Symbol is Mars the Spirit Warrior. He is a minion of Grandfather Moon. Eagles were the warrior society, the braves the protectors of the nation.Women were included. There was no discrimination which is reflected in the language: third person singular is divided into animate, human and animate, not human instead of he and she. The energy of high hopes and anticipations, dreams and visions, cosmic consciousness and commitment. On earth a provider of excellence, leader, husbandry, care-taking of others, financial security and inheritance. Totem-Eagle. Powerful energy for success in worldly affairs, due to far seeing vision. Ability to create masses of money and abundance through an intellectual type of profession. Eagle asks for what he desires and manifests it. Professor, lawyer, teacher, leader.
