Spaceweather: Airglow

We’re still waiting on the auroras that could be manifested from the recent Solar Winds projected by the Sun (first forecast to arrive by November 20-21, 2022. Though, Air Glows are just as beautiful.

THESE AURORAS ARE NOT AURORAS: Two nights ago astrophotographer Ruslan Merzlyakov went to the coastal wilderness of Denmark’s Thy National Park and set up his camera for a long exposure of the Milky Way. He found the galaxy surrounded by aurora-like bands of red and green:

“It wasn’t the aurora borealis,” says Merzlyakov. “This was a magnificent display of airglow.”

Airglow is aurora-like phenomenon caused by chemical reactions in the upper atmosphere. It gets started during the day when the air is illuminated by ultraviolet radiation from the sun. At night the delicate afterglow can be seen from dark-sky locations like Thy National Park.
Green airglow is caused by oxygen. Red airglow is more rare; it is caused by OH. These neutral molecules (not to be confused with the OH- ion found in aqueous solutions) exist in a thin layer 85 km high where gravity waves impress the red glow with a dramatic rippling structure.

Who needs auroras? “The airglow,” says Merzlyakov, “was out of this world.”

13 Night/AKBAL (Cherokee, Hearth/O’YA)

Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.

Night/Akbal: Bringers of the Dawn. Dreamers who bring the new sun to clarify and illuminate the road of life. Thus the insecurities and doubts born of darkness of the sub-conscious mind are dispelled. These persons travel the Void… a place where nothing yet exists but all potential dwells, the womb of creation. From this void, Night persons bring forth new solutions and artistic inspiration. Night’s voyages of dreams build confidence and happiness with a sense of well being. If night does not bravely journey into the void they may find themselves wandering the darkness of self doubt and insecurity.

Cherokee, Hearth/O’YA: Hearth’s symbol is the fire pit in the Center, velvet black as the night. The triangle in Orion. The M42 nebula (home of the Central race from the WingMakers) in the center of the triangle of Orion is the fire in the Hearth, also matching the Mayan. The Hearth is the Torchbearer who holds the light and warmth throughout the night.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
