Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself.

8 Serpent / CHICCHAN

Greetings Beloved Kin,

Serpent/CHICCHAN represents the Divine Source that manifested Force of Sentient Life. Down through the ages the Serpent has been a symbol of the Power of an Illuminated Consciousness. The Maya defined the Number 8 as the substance of “pure spirit.” CHICCHAN is the Unseen Power that animates Life and ignites the Passion to Know.

HOLY OBSERVANCE: Serpentine Day
Peak Tone 8 represents the zenith hour of Light. The 8th and 9th hours hold a Sacred Meaning as the Time as the hours when the most solar light is received. The most important festivals and sacred ceremonies are held on Tone 8 and Tone 9. Tone 8 represents the Intention of Divine Justice, a power held by the Hand of the Highest Authority over Life and the Creation.  Serpentine Day is the Holy Day that honors the Gift of Life and Consciousness. CHIICCHAN is the Force that ignites the Divine Gifts of Knowing and the Sovereignty of every Life upheld by the Sacred Right of Choice. The Element of Fire was the center of the rituals and sacred ceremonies to honor this Holy Day.

The Caduceus: Magical Staff of Hermes, Source: Classical Wisdom

Down through the ages the Serpent has been a symbol of an Illuminated Consciousness that acknowledges the god-like forces of Sentient Life. The Caduceus is a common symbol seen today to identify practitioners of the Medical Arts, those who are bound by an Oath to do no harm. It’s roots lie in the god-like powers over Life and Death.

Wikipedia: CaduceusSome accounts suggest that the oldest known imagery of the caduceus has its roots in Mesopotamia with the Sumerian god Ningishzida; his symbol, a staff with two snakes intertwined around it, dates back to 4000 BC to 3000 BC.

As a symbolic object, it represents Hermes (or the Roman Mercury), and by extension trades, occupations, or undertakings associated with the god. In later Antiquity, the caduceus provided the basis for the astrological symbol representing the planet Mercury. Thus, through its use in astrology, alchemy, and astronomy it has come to denote the planet and elemental metal of the same name. It is said the wand would wake the sleeping and send the awake to sleep. If applied to the dying, their death was gentle; if applied to the dead, they returned to life.

The Caduceus: Magical Staff of Hermes, Source: Classical WisdomHermes was the messenger of the Olympian gods. Hermes, or Mercury, had a powerful staff known as the caduceus, which was considered a magical symbol of his inviolability. The staff became a very potent symbol in the ancient world. We are still familiar with it in the modern world, though we may not realize it.

8 Serpent/CHICCHAN ignites the “lightning in the blood,” known by the Maya as the Sixth Sense of the Heart. CHICCHAN is the force that “bestirs the blood to speak.” CHICCHAN is related to the Kundalini energy that rises from the Root Chakra to the Crown. CHICCHAN is the Feeling that comes with a Revelation of Higher Consciousness. We’ve all known it as the sense of danger that leaves goosebumps and raises our hair on end. CHICCHAN is also the involuntary feeling that grabs our Heart in a Shared Experience when the bride walks down the aisle, or when our child walks across the stage to receive a diploma. It’s the Sense of Knowing and Sharing the most powerful experiences of Life that are held within the heart of every sentient being. All living things are moved by the Consciousness of Love and we were all given the same “fight or flight” senses to know when our life is in danger.

8 Serpent/CHICCHAN is Time ordered to know a Force within that is ignited by the Power of the Creator. symbolizes that Divine Force that awakens our Passion and Gifts of Spirit, defined by the Maya as “lightning in the blood.” Like the Serpent, CHICCHAN is the Feeling of Knowing, a supernatural sense that comes with a Divine Revelation of the Truth. We’ve all felt it when our hearts are overcome by the experience when the bride walks down the aisle. The Feeling is compared to the Kundalini energy that rises from the root to the crown, leaving goosebumps, and hair standing on end. CHICCHAN symbolizes a Quickening of our Spirit. It is so common, most of the time we hardly give it a second thought. CHICCHAN can besir the “Blood to Speak” when we’re touched by the “Hand of God.” CHICCHAN is the Force of Knowing the Truth through the Heart.

Our Feelings, like the Serpent, are the only way to Know the Divine Truth. We’re “all in our head” when we make a discernment from our mind of reason. The Creator can touch our heart to raise our Consciousness to the Sanctity of Justice in Harmony and Equity with the Whole. The snake “clearly sees” it’s prey by Feeling the movement of Life through the vibrations of Earth.

We are called to honor the Life and Consciousness of Being as the god-like Force within. We were intended to honor every life that is taken so that we might live. The Elders taught us that when we give thanks before every meal, it is worthy and an offering of Divine Justice to remember the sacrifice. Every Life Matters as a Creation from the Hand of the Creator.

This is a day to pay attention to your own gut instincts. Our Divine Gifts of Knowing are exalted in the zenith hour of Light. This is a day to honor the “power of god” that lies within as the Spark within every Seed that knows when it’s Time to Live again.

The snake offers us the power to “shed our skin” so we can expand and grow our Highest Creation of Love. This is a Day to honor our Feelings and to acknowledge them as a Force of Healing. Don’t push your feelings down. Honor them as a Power to Healing that can convict our Heart to uphold the Golden Rule.

This Holy Day falls in synchronicity with an astrological aspect of Yod. The order of Time shared from Above is intended as a planetary experience in harmony and equity with the whole. Honor the choices and Intentions to Love, and to Live and let Live.

Olive the Hummingbird has been “shedding” too. She’s slowed down as she is undergoing the molting process. She’s waiting on her new feathers to come in. It’s a Sign that it takes time to adjust to the Transformations that represent a major life change. We are sharing a collective experience of waiting for our new wings in the 7th uinal, the “core days” of the Tzolk’in. It takes time for a caterpillar to change into a butterfly. We’re only suspended in Time for a little while before we break out into a brand new life of Divine Possibilities.

Olive is hanging out close to home on a limb beneath her nest. She’s been taking it easy and spending extra time at the bird bath.

By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure.”

To all my relations, may we draw close to the Fire that Burns us within and remember there is Time for everything – Time to Know, Time to Dream, and Time to Live Again. May we give thanks that all our Time is held in the Creator’s Hand. CHICCHAN holds the Power to Move us when the Time is right… and when we do, we’ll have the wings to fly. May we give thanks for a Sovereign and Sacred Life and the Gifts to know God is always with us to carry out the ends of Justice in Harmony and Equity with the whole.

in lak’ech, I am another you

8 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI) – Day 8 of 13 in the 1 Flint/ETZNAB cycle of Truth from Above

The 7th Uinal of Balance

The 7th Uinal of Balance

CORE DAYS: The 7th Uinal of the Tzolk’in represent the center column of 20-days, which carry the Intention of Balancing. In the Center we are returned to Unity with the whole as our sense of duality comes into balance.  The Maya believed this to be the axis mundi – the center of the world that connects Heaven and Earth, where the four directions meet; where communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to lower ones and be disseminated to all. The Core Days may be experienced as a time of personal mystery as we recreate ourselves.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 8:  Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eights carefully weighs all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement ‘as above, so below,’ from simplicity to infinity, the energy of eight organizes all levels of creation, some eights are ‘neat freaks.’

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for fluidity and flexibility.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet through the descending Light of the Serpent.
