SPACEWEATHER: Massive Storm on Jupiter

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 12/03/2024

A MASSIVE THUNDERSTORM ON JUPITER: This week, Jupiter is at its closest to Earth for all of 2024-2025. It’s a great time to see a massive thunderstorm brewing on the giant planet. The storm is circled in this Nov. 30th image from Austrian photographer Michael Karrer:

Karrer’s photo, captured with an 8-inch Celestron telescope, captured two white swirls breaking through Jupiter’s brown South Equatorial Belt (SEB).

“These are giant thunderstorms,” explains John Rogers of the British Astronomical Association. “The last time we saw storms like this was 8 years ago in 2016-17.”

The white swirls are actually the tops of convective plumes rising from a location perhaps 100 km below the brown SEB. Although the plumes are not very deep (compared to the vast depth of Jupiter’s atmosphere), they are wide enough to swallow Earth with room to spare. Rogers believes these storms could spread rapidly through the SEB, causing the familiar brown belt to fade as its color is diluted by the white storm front.

Astrophotographers, this is your chance to monitor a fast-changing alien tempest. Jupiter rises in the east at sunset and stays up all night long. Shining at magnitude -2.8 (only the sun, Moon and Venus are brighter), the giant planet is now an easy target for backyard telescopes. Point your optics here.

QUIET WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF FLARES: Although the sun is peppered with sunspots, none of them is actively flaring. Solar activity is therefore low. NOAA forecasters estimate a slight 5% chance the sun will break the silence with an X-class solar flare on Dec. 3rd.

Note: A flood at Stanford University has damaged a number of important SDO data servers. Repeairs may not be completed until 2025. As a result, Daily Sun images will be coming from readers of Spaceweather.com for the foreseeable future. Thank you, citizen scientists!

THE TRECENA OF SERPENT/CHICCHAN: AWAKENING THE GIFTS OF SPIRIT

My gift for the Tzolk’in round is the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in round. The “Field Guide” is available to download from a link on the 13-day Trecena Guide Page.

Tracking your thoughts during one 13-day trecena, you will see the synchronicity of Time, and an ascension as the answer to a prayer you hold as an Intention of thought from the beginning.

The Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena is part of Season 2, found in Volume 1.

NOTE: If you see repeating numbers, SacredScribes is a resource to check the meaning of Angel Numbers.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 1:  Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for flexibility and fluidity.

This cycle is guided by the Element of Fire. Pele is the Hawaiian volcano deity, an elemental force of Fire. The tradition is  to touch something Red for protection when the name is spoken. Remember Fire, when you see Red. The Creator’s Fire is the the Truth and the Warmth of Healing Energy in our Hands. Keep a daily journal of “God Sightings” and your Consciousness of “God with us” will expand. CHICCHAN is the “jolt of life” that can raise us from the dead.

A CHICCHAN DREAM THAT MANIFESTED CREATION:
1 Serpent/CHICCHAN (July 8, 2018) inspired a Pilgrimage to Ek’ Balam, the first manifestation of an “impossible” dream. 1 Serpent/CHICCHAN lit the fuse to Believe it was possible. I received a Light of Truth. I never chose my heart’s desire. I was given the Power to go by Faith that the invisible footprints of the Holy Spirit would lead the way. I knew without a doubt that it was where I was supposed to be on 12 Sun/AHAU by Ian Lungold’s Mayan birthday, October 31, 2018. I didn’t know it while I was there, that the journey was the Sign of a new life that came after.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page. ~Debra]
