Chinese Lunar New Year, New Moon: January 29, 2025

Lunar New Year of the Wood Snake

In the sun-scorched landscapes of Australia and the ancient valleys of China, snakes have long held a sacred place in both cultures’ storytelling and spirituality. As we approach one of the most significant cultural celebrations in Asia, Lunar New Year 2025 resonates particularly in Australia, where the relationship between these two lands dates back to the gold rushes of the 1850s when Chinese miners first brought their New Year traditions to the goldfields of Ballarat and Bendigo.

Starting on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, this celebration ushers in the Year of the Wood Snake, a rare and meaningful combination that occurs only once every 60 years in the Chinese zodiac.

The timing is especially poignant in Australia, where the Easter Brown Snake, one of the world’s most sophisticated reptiles, mirrors many of the revered qualities of the zodiac snake – wisdom, adaptation, and transformation. From the Dreamtime stories of Indigenous Australians, where the Rainbow Serpent shaped the land, to the Chinese mythology where the snake represents intelligence and renewal, these parallel cultural narratives bridge ancient wisdoms across hemispheres. The New Moon beginning the Full Cold Moon Cycle

Full Snow Moon Cycle, New Moon

The New Moon begins the Moon Cycle of energies that prevail to the Full Moon. The New Moon occurs on Wednesday January 29, 2025 at 6:37 AM CST (12:37 PM UTC). (MoonGiant.com offers dates and times of the Full Snow Moon for international locations.) The Full Moon occurs Wednesday, February 12, 2025, 7:53 AM CST (1:53 PM UTC); and on Thursday, February 13, 2025, 12:53 AM AEDT in Australia (reported by MoonGiant.com for Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne).

As the snowiest month in the United States, February’s full moon is commonly known as the Full Snow Moon in Native American cultures. These ancient tribes named this moon after the way trees cracked in the cold, or how people had to sit shoulder to shoulder around the fire for warmth. Even the Celts called it the Moon of Ice. As expected of the coldest month in the year, the Full Snow Moon is also known by more sinister names, such as the Bone Moon.

The Cherokee tribe called February’s full moon the Bone Moon because by this point, the tribe’s winter food supplies had usually dwindled to the point where people had to gnaw on bones and cook bone marrow soup in order to survive. For the same reason, the Kalapuya tribe called this moon the Out of Food Moon. Appropriately, it’s also known as the Hunger Moon and the Little Famine Moon. Perhaps due to this month’s association with death, the Cherokee tribe would commune with their dead ancestors during the Bone Moon. A didanawiskawi, or a medicine person, would host a medicine dance for the community. Fasting and rituals for the dead were also common practices.

However, not all cultures associate February’s full moon with extreme cold and death. The Hopi tribe calls it the Moon of Purification and Renewal, which is very fitting because the Full Snow Moon is usually the very first full moon of the year according to the lunar calendar. Cultures that follow the lunar calendar, especially East Asian cultures, tend to associate the Full Snow Moon with new beginnings for this very reason. The ancient Chinese, for example, called it the Budding Moon. (The article is continued on MoonGiant.com)

An Interesting Association with Bendigo

The phonetics of Bendigo brought to mind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, from Daniel, chapter 3. (I’ve miss-pronounced it “abendigo.”)

Three Jewish men were thrown into a furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were friends of Daniel and Hebrew captives in Babylon. Daniel, the chief governor, had given them high positions in Babylon. Jealous Babylonian officials convinced the king to order everyone to bow down to a golden statue.

When the men refused, the king had them thrown into a furnace that was heated seven times hotter than usual. The men were unharmed by the fire and walked around inside. The king saw a fourth person in the fire who looked like the Son of God. The king brought the men out of the furnace and promoted them, and decreed that people should worship the God of Israel.

The Son of God appeared to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, proving their Faith in a Power Greater than Gold. A Divine Relationship was the first intention of their heart’s desire. The Knowledge and Wisdom to create wealth was the Sacred Exchange. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.

Matthew 6:33 KJV
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

By Mayan Time, January 29, 2025 is 6 Wind/IK (6=3+3, 2 Divine Trinities as One), and Wind/IK that represents the Power and Authority of the Creator’s Word to change the landscape of our life, defined by the Power of a Hurricane.

God’s Word fans the flames of our Faith. A Divine Protector can blow away the heat of the worldly fires of Humanity.  So did God’s Wind part the Sea for Moses who led the captives out of the land of Egypt.

Mayan Time and Tradition

The New Moon occurs on January 29, 2025, 6 Wind/IK, a symbol of the Word in Divine Trinity, Above and Below. The Full Moon, February 12, 2025 is 7 Wisdom/CIB, a symbol of Human’s Highest State of Consciousness.  Tone 7 is the top of the next pyramid climb to the Holy of Holies, where we see “all that is” and “all that is not” the Divine Will of the Creator.

The Serpent of Chinese culture and the Rainbow Serpent of the Indigenous tribes of Australia are correspondent with the Feathered Serpent of Mayan tradition. Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl was the Light of Knowledge and Wisdom that descends from Above.

1 Earth/CABAN begins a cycle of Illumination where we are guided by our True North. The next 13 Days purify the Heart’s Intention. The Creator sends out a Clarion Call to know who we are becoming and moves us to Live with all our Heart. Earth/CABAN connects us to the Wisdom of the Ages as Light passed down through the generations.  We are guided by the Hand of Divine Agency toward our Divine Justice on the Road to our Divine Destiny.

CABAN is the path of a Divine Migration of Spirit. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom.” The mystery remains how traditions of faith around the world align with the same symbols.

May the knowledge and wisdom of the Son of God be brought to Life in our Hearts and Minds to fulfill the Law of God’s Word. Jesus Christ is referred to as the “seed” of God, David, and Abraham.

May we claim the Year 2025 (a 9 year) as the Spring we plant the Seed of Christ, and Live with all our Heart to gather in the God’s Abundance at the Harvest Moon, Monday, October 6, 2025, the first Supermoon of 2025. ONE GOD is the Lord of every One. That’s what the Lord said.

Galactic Tone 1:  Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.

A GOOD DAY/CYCLE TO: Give thanks to Mother Earth for all her gifts.

Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement and perpetual motion, Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way. The Northern Cross is the Tree of Life, Beside the Milky Way River & Perched atop is Guwi’ sguwi, the Cherokee Heron Spirit Bird, comparable to the Phoenix that rises from the ashes of the past.
