Simultaneous Northern and Southern Lights *Almost* Mirror Images of Each Other

AURORAS SIGHTED IN BOTH HEMISPHERES: New Zealand astronomer Ian Griffin was trying to sleep when the geomagnetic storm began. “I woke up early, disturbed by the light of the nearly full Moon, and saw the auroras out my bedroom window,” says Griffin. “I dressed quickly and hot-footed it to a local beauty spot called Hoopers Inlet on the Otago Peninsula.”

 

In 2002, NASA did an important aurora experiment. They flew two spacecraft over the poles–one north and one south–to observe auroras simultaneously at opposite ends of the Earth. The results: Northern and Southern Lights appear at the same time and are *almost* mirror images of each other.

It comes as no surprise, therefore, that auroras were also dancing half a world away from New Zealand in the northern hemisphere. Marek Nikodem sends this picture from Szubin, Poland:

“Here in Poland, the aurora is a relatively rare phenomenon,” says Nikodem. “Taking advantage of the good weather, I went out of town with my girlfriend to see the show. An hour before midnight, the aurora was at its most spectacular.”

THE SEVERE STORM IS SUBSIDING: For much of the past 24 hours, Earth’s magnetic field has been reverberating from the impact of a CME on April 15th. It was a  Cannibal CME so it did an extra-good job sparking geomagnetic storms. For a brief time on April 16th, the storm became severe (category G4) with Northern Lights sighted as far south as France. The storm is subsiding now to category G1/G2, which could still produce high-latitude auroras on April 17th.

MEANWHILE: Sunspot 4060 is continuing it’s journey toward an earth-facing position. The Sun’s coronal hole is moving side by side. It “almost” looks like a gaping mouth is preparing to Speak to Earth on April 21, 2025.

Jewish Time is 19 Nisan 5785. By Jewish tradition, at Sundown today, we enter a zero Time of waiting on the Lord, as we Remember 7 (a symbol of completion) fundamental aspects of God’s Identity: “Love”, “Strength”, “Beauty”, “Victory”, “Splendor”, “Foundation” and “Sovereignty.” In the in-between days of the Jewish Passover tradition of 7 days, we strive to reflect God’s image. “In the human being, created in the “image of G-d,” the seven sefirot are mirrored in the seven “emotional attributes” of the human soul: Kindness, Restraint, Harmony, Ambition, Humility, Connection and Receptiveness.”

Galactic Tone 6: Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.

Sun/AHAU: Day of the ancestors and connection to their guidance. The divine face of the sun – lord, musician, singer, dancer, and marksman. Suns are artistic, heroic athletes, visionaries with wise judgment who lead and defend the people. So much is expected from themselves and by other people that unfulfilled expectations are a certainty. An accumulation of these disappointments may lead Sun to evade responsibilities, not accept corrections and even build resentment and disdain towards others. Suns should simplify their lives to be able to rise and shine with unconditional love once again.
