CME#1 and CME#2 to Strike as One
A Supermoon will reflect too much Light for the best “dark sky” conditions to view of the Auroras in the forecast. Heavenly Lights are clustered together in their Closest Proximity to Earth.
Shedding Light on Astronomy:
If your last astronomy class was in the 8th Grade, you may not know the Moon doesn’t belong to Earth. It orbits the Sun. This post shares the Truth in plain sight, made near impossible for us to see.
SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 01/02/2026
GEOMAGNETIC STORM FORECAST (UPDATED): Geomagnetic storms are possible on Jan. 3-4 when a pair of CMEs is expected to hit Earth’s magnetic field. CME #1 was launched by a powerful M7-flare on Dec. 31st. CME #2 followed on Jan. 1st, propelled by a weaker but better aimed C6-flare. Their combined impact could cause G2-class geomagnetic storms. The only bad news: Aurora visibility will be reduced by glare from this weekend’s full Wolf Moon.
“It was brighter than the picture! I could only get my phone while it was out. Then it was gone, with just a normal ring around the moon. It was spectacular to see!” ~ Corrie Ann

Amateur Astronomy
My official education as an Amateur astronomer began in Tucson, AZ. After relocating there in 2006, I found the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association (TAA) a perfect place to find community among both amateur and academic astronomers. Tucson legally enforces “dark sky” conditions. Streetlights are dim and there’s no big-city lights. Remote locations once perfect for Western Movies are perfect conditions for stargazing during winter with overnight temps in the mid-40’s (F).
Astronomers enjoy sharing a view through their telescopes. I learned more about astronomers than I did about astronomy. Most everything I’ve learned is here with you. When God shares something we Love we want to know everything about it.
MY MAJOR DISCOVERIES OF 2025
- Perihelion – Everything that journeys around the Sun has a Perihelion.
The Moon Orbits the Sun – The Moon has a “straight path” of her own. Earth “wobbles” crossing the Moon’s path.
We Love the Moon as Earth’s possession, but she doesn’t belong to us. Her course is centered around the Sun. Her positions in apogee and perigee are effects of an earth-wiggle.
The Moon’s orbit has been illustrated from the world’s point of view, out of proportion, and without reference to the Big Picture.
Eighth Grade Science

Eighth Grade Science

The lesson is not wrong, but it ain’t “right”.
“The Moon rotates on its axis and revolves around the Earth. This of course occurring at the same time the Earth is also rotating and revolving around the Sun.
These motions cause many different natural phenomenons (phenomena) we experience on Earth to occur some of which include solar eclipses, lunar eclipses and the different phases of the Moon that we will explore during this module.”
I had to dig deep to find the illustration of the Moon’s orbit of the Sun. NASA talks about the Moon’s orbit “or transit” without explaining “transit” means “a crossing”. Who skewed proportions to “make it look good” and “easy for dummies” to understand?
There is such a thing as a conspiracy. The good ones are covered up. Surely evil is good at it. One Truth can lend credibility to every lie that follows.
The Wisdom of the Truth
God intended us to all be seekers of the Truth. God is the Source that Never Fails. There’s a universe of discoveries waiting for an amateur who hasn’t been “formally taught” — whatever the adventure of our life may be.
A Universe of Stars is a clear sign of an order beyond all Human control. Signs herald what God will do. Divination references the Stars for a Human purpose.
The Full Wolf Supermoon at Earth’s Perihelion January 3, 2026

The Wolf Moon in January 2026 will be the first Full Moon this year. The exact time of the Full Wolf Moon is January 3, 10:03 UTC (01:03:10 at 10:03). Earth reaches perihelion (closest point to the Sun) on January 3, 2026, about 7 hours later at approximately 17:15 (5:15pm) UTC.
The First Moon of a 13 Moon Year
We have 13 Full Moons in the same Earth Year. There will be a month with 2 Full Moons, a Blue Moon. The Blue Moon falls on May 31, 2026.
Supermoon Inside the Winter Hexagon

From January 1 to 4, our natural satellite will be passing through the Winter Hexagon asterism, composed of six stars: Sirius (Canis Major), Procyon (Canis Minor), Rigel (Orion), Aldebaran (Taurus), Pollux (Gemini), and Capella (Auriga). Each star belongs to a different constellation.
The January Full Wolf Moon was named for the Time when the wolves howl. It’s the wolf’s mating season. Howling sets the boundary of a Pack and expresses the strength of its numbers. During the Full Moon we’ll be circled by lights from 6 different constellations, gathered together as One.
Visit StarWalk for Full Moon details and nearby stars. Planet Jupiter will be near, and the Quadrantids, the first Meteor Shower of the year, will be at its peak. There’s almost too much light to see.
Moon’s Perihelion, January 18, 2026
At the Supermoon, the Moon is close behind us. High tides are drawn by opposing gravitational forces.
NOTE: Illustration proportions are not to scale, and distort reality. 🙂

The first New Moon of 2026 occurs on January 18, 2026, 19:51 UTC. The Moon will be on the Sun’s side of Earth Perihelion. The Moon’s Perihelion is closer than Earth’s.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity
The 4th Season began as a quest for Wisdom (1 Wisdom/CIB). It leads to an end of knowing how much there is to know, and how much we can discover when God shines a light for us.
Tomorrow, January 3, 2026, is 7 Crocodile/IMIX. IMIX is the Alpha Mother who nourishes us with wild ideas out of the blue. The next lesson is learning we can spend a lot of time following rabbit holes. Wait to follow the bright idea you love.

6 Sun/AHAU (Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI) – Day 6 of 13 of the 1 Eagle/MEN trecena
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 6: Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.
Sun/AHAU: Day of the ancestors and connection to their guidance. The divine face of the sun – lord, musician, singer, dancer, and marksman. Suns are artistic, heroic athletes, visionaries with wise judgment who lead and defend the people. So much is expected from themselves and by other people that unfulfilled expectations are a certainty. An accumulation of these disappointments may lead Sun to evade responsibilities, not accept corrections and even build resentment and disdain towards others. Suns should simplify their lives to be able to rise and shine with unconditional love once again.
A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for the Wisdom and continued honored memory of our ancestors.
Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI EK: Symbol is the Sun, place of abode of Great Spirit. The Sun creates, nurtures, and is the super communicator, the way station that relays messages and energy from other stars in the galaxy; provides energy for channeling information from the Ancestors; speaking the Living Language of Light, which ignites the consciousness in others. Gold is the color of courage and opportunity of wealth. Creative arts, master craftsman expressing divinity and wisdom through their creations. The face of the flower follows the Sun gathering the fire of creativity, illuminating harmony and balance, resonating peace and continuity within the human spirit. This is the Sign of the Chalice of the Infinite, Caldron of Creation.

Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
