Sunspots rotate. It is known for some time now, but it is nice to actually see that for yourself. Here is a crude animation showing sunspot group AR4482 over the course of 5 days (7 to 11 of July, 2026). Note the different sections rotate differently. The upper part rotates anticlockwise quite fast, while the lower part has different motions inside it. More on sunspot rotation here.

A SPINNING SUNSPOT: Planets spin. Moons spin. Stars spin. Is it any surprise that sunspots also spin? Maximilian-Vlad Teodorico photographed the phenomenon last week (July 7-11) when sunspot AR4482 pinwheeled across the solar disk:
“Yes, sunspots rotate,” says Teodorescu. “Note the different sections rotate differently. The upper part rotates anticlockwise quite fast, while the lower part has different motions inside it.”
Astronomers have reported these motions since 1910. One large survey in 2008 identified 186 spinning sunspots. Most turned only a few degrees per hour. AR4482 appears to be a rapid rotator, with parts of the sunspot completing a full turn in only a few days.
Sunspot spin is a sign of tension beneath the surface of the sun. Imagine twisting a rubber band until it becomes very tight. Let go! The rubber band explosively unwinds, releasing its tension. Magnetic fields underneath AR4482 were twisting like that rubber band, storing potential energy for a strong solar flare.

The Sun Today
Sunspot 4485 resides on the Western limb, about to turn to the farside of the Sun. The rest of the Sun’s earth-facing side is relatively clear as a New Sunspot 4489 turns to us in the East.

On July 14, the Moon reaches its New Moon phase, leaving the night sky especially dark. This is one of the best times of the year to see the Milky Way: in July, its bright central region is visible for much of the night, especially from dark locations away from city lights. Let your eyes adapt to the darkness, then look for the pale, cloudy band stretching across the sky. The moonless night is also perfect for observing faint galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters of July.

Tonight the Darkness reveals the Brightest Light of the Milky Way, the path of Light that leads us Home beyond the stars.
Aquarius is the Water Bearer that pours out the Light in Harmony and Equity with all Living Things for the Beauty of the Earth. All things are beautiful in the Creator’s sight.

The power doesn’t lie in the value of the number, but as the symbol of completion of “the Creation” of Love. Today, we are blessed at an altar where the number of completion is magnified by the Power of Divine Trinity. We are called to forgive one another in the Name of the One Above All.

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Reed/BEN: Reed persons are the spiritual essence, protectors and guiding light for family and home. They are competent speakers who will take up a cause. Very tough and analytical, Reeds endeavor to bring peace, harmony, and order to all of their relations. Reeds are blessed with great skill at negotiations and consoling which are very often put to the test. Although Reeds need a lot of appreciation, many have marriage or business problems because of inflexible views and high expectations, which erode affinity. The lesson of Reed is to be like a garden hose, not a steel pipe.
