CME IMPACT PREDICTED LATER THIS WEEK: A new NOAA forecast model (above) suggests that a CME will graze Earth on July 31st. The glancing blow could spark a G1-class geomagnetic storm–but don’t expect to see auroras. Almost-full moonlight will overwhelm the geomagnetic glow.
