MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Greetings Kin,
7 is the Tone of reflection that allows us to see all that is, and all that is not. Compared to reaching the top of the pyramid, we have the perspective of seeing in every direction. We are equally aware of our strength and weakness. We see how far we’ve come and how far there is to go. We’ve done what we could do, now it’s time to surrender to Divine Will.
In our “harvest cycle” of Transformation what was the sprout is now the full-grown Tree, connecting Earth and Sky and holding potential of bearing fruit. This is a time we would make an offering and pray for a Harvest of Spirit.
Under the Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena that would ignite the Force of Life, we are given Monkey/CHUEN as our guide at the peak of our Spiritual Climb. Number 7 is compared to the energy and magic of the Jaguar. Monkey would double this magical energy as the Weaver of all Time.
GREEN KIN: ELEMENT OF ETHER
The Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena presents 10 Portal Days in a row (Tones 2 thru 12). Our experiences will be magnified by a thinning of the veil and an opening to other dimensions. At the center of this Portal we stand in the Highest Place, the Holy of Holies. We are greeted by our Divine Emissaries that celebrate our arrival. They are the bringers of Divine Justice who prepare us for the Fulfillment of our Divine Destiny.
The Peak Days of the Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena would ignite the Peak Energy of our “Lightning in the Blood.” As a Blue Day Sign of the West, we are standing in the place of our emotions, our Human response to Life’s Experience and the Calling of Our Spirit. Our Awareness could be heightened to a yearning of the Heart. We are standing in a Humbling Place where we can see all the ways we could have given more. Remembering the hope at our beginning and the prospect of something lost, we suddenly realize the depth of our own Passion.
Our Offering to the Holy of Holies is Our Longing to become more than we are. This is the energy of our Life Force that draws us to Relationship with the Creator. The sorrow in not living up to our own potential is a Force that fans the Flame of our Passion.
CHUEN is the Master of all Arts. The glyph illustrates time rolled up on Monkey’s head. Monkey guides us to see ourselves in an alternative reality. Monkey weaves together the tapestry of our lives. Monkey’s assessment of the “colors of our experience” only considers which colors would look beautiful together. We might consider the similar feelings between Joy and Sorrow. In our Human experience of duality, we discern them as good and bad. Yet, if we look more closely in Spirit – how similar do they really Feel? They are Both the Voice of Spirit.
Overcoming our feelings of separation is the Divine Intention behind our Spiritual Growth. Each day, we grow a little taller by reaching for something higher than our yesterday. We will always see the next higher thing within our reach. The reaching for an experience of Oneness.
There is an affinity between the Dog and the Monkey. They share the same easy-going personality that takes life as it comes and lives for the opportunity of the moment. The Monkey can give us a magical perspective on things as it inspects all the experiences of life with a playful curiosity. Monkey offers us the courage to express our authenticity, associating no fear with any outcome. Whatever will be, will be – Divine and Perfect in its own right.
Dog gave us the gift of Unconditional Love and promised to be faithful even beyond death. As we reflect on where we are – all that is, and all that is not – Love Endures. Where our Human eyes see shortcomings in need of Grace, Spiritual Eyes see the motive of the Heart in “reaching to overcome.” Our Human eyes saw only the chaos of change. But like a tree, we came to maturity as something exponentially greater than the seed of our beginning.
Monkey/CHUEN would inspect the gifts we bring seeing only their beauty. As the Master of Time, CHUEN would invite us to visit our past, where there is greater evidence of growth, and look to our future considering where our pattern of movement would lead us over time. As we stand in the door to Spirit, the Ancestors remind us that Divine Reciprocity will return abundantly more than we have given.
The Cherokee Day Sign, Raccoon, is the playful trickster that would capture our attention. Through friendly mischief, even in our darkest hour, the Raccoon could coax a smile. We are encouraged to step back from the worries of the moment to see the full picture. We could find the humor in this constant striving to become something more, and the struggle we make of it, even as this is the very evidence of growth in progress.
To all my relations, may we embrace every experience of living. May we recognize our Heart as the Holy of Holies where we are connected for Divine Communion. May we Re-Member Love is always the Outcome of Divine Will. We were created to become the full-grown tree with roots deep into our Mother Earth and branches that can now reach the Sky. May we dare to hold our Highest Expectations for the Divine Will that would return an abundant harvest from a Sacred Intention of Spirit.
in lak’ech, i am another you

7 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI)
Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.
GREEN KIN ELEMENT OF ETHER
Today is Kin 111. Tzolk’in Chart illustrates Kin 106 thru Kin 115 as “Galactic Activation Portal” days. This energy magnifies what you focus on and opens a channel to Spirit. You may have more intense feelings. You or people around you may exhibit more sensitive behavior. You may experience an intuition or knowing or shift in perception.
