MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 12 offers a gift of Retrospection for the Intention of Understanding. Looking back on our experience, all the pieces are drawn together. This is a day when Knowledge Moves from the Head to the Heart.
The Monkey/CHUEN trecena guided the Dawn of a new Creation. In the Creative Void we imagined everything we would Choose to Be, if we could start all over again. We Chose the Truth we would hold in our Imagination and took a Leap of Faith. The Creator was there to complete what we were unable to do for our Self.
Wind/IK is the Breath of Life and Spirit. Winds hold the power of dissemination. Those born Wind are Dreamers and Planners with powerful imaginations. The Element of Air relates to the faculties of the mind. The force of Wind that has the power to change the landscape, can also complete our own Change of Mind.
The Cherokee Whirlwind represents the whirling of life and the breath of the Universe that carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit. The rhythm of our breath is the pulse of the universe. Air is the Element that connects us all to the One Breath of the Creator. The Whirlwind is the 13 Dancer who leads the 12 from Above. Wind reminds us that the Beginning and Ending of every Human Creation is guided from Above.
We learned all the ways that the Creator Designed to carry on a relationship with Human. The Creator’s most important Intention wasn’t left to chance. Our Human lives Begin and End with a Sacred Breath. No matter what we create, our Beginning and our End is already promised its Divine Justice. By Choosing to Create Love, Human was given the Choice to create it Here and Now on Mother Earth.
The words we speak are an Expression of Spirit. Through retrospection we can see how our Voice defines our experience. The Spoken Word is the defining moment of Creation. Our words hold the power to perpetuate the darkness or create new light. Through the Consciousness of our own thoughts, we have a chance to choose what we create.
Wind can move us to change our minds and thoughts. The Elders said that whenever we were touched by the presence of the Wind, we notice the thoughts on our mind. We can call upon the Wind to blow away the thoughts that didn’t originate with us. And like the Creator, we can imagine what we would create, before we speak.
To all my relations, may we claim the Beauty of the Choice born on the Breath of Spirit. May we look at what we’ve chosen to Create and declare that “It is Good.” May we draw a Sacred Breath and hold it as we Crystallize the experience in our Imagination. May we be Brave and Strong and Believe in the Miracle of a Creation that would always Begin and End as an Expression of Unconditional Love.

12 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
Galactic Tone 12: Understanding. This number’s energy is a gift of great capability of retrospection. It is this ability that allows Twelve to connect disassociated parts into a (new) functioning whole. The energy of Twelve is that which presents a new piece of understood information or accumulated experience to be applied.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.
