MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 2 represents Duality. Today, we make a personal discernment. By comparing all that is and all that is not, we define our Choice of “to be or not to be.”
Monkey/CHUEN is the Day Sign of a Creator. CHUEN is known as the Master of all Arts and the Weaver of TIme, more than capable to Create the Beauty of our Life. CHUEN can rearrange the threads of our experience so that the tapestry of our life can become a thing of beauty.
We are starting all over again in a new cycle of Spiritual Growth. Our recent Ascension on Tone 13, was the crashing of a wave of momentum. Our new cycle of growth begins again as a Human effort. The pyramid we must climb may suddenly seem taller than it was before. We must carry our last effort to a new horizon.
Tone 2 is a day when we are separated from the Whole for the purpose of seeing our Self, our thoughts, our dreams, and to discern what our own creation of Love might be.
The Higher Intention of this Tzolk’in cycle is to manifest the Life and Love we always wanted. In this context we might naturally compare our Self and our Life to those around us. From a Human perspective, we might see our Self as coming up short. These thoughts can have a purpose. They can fuel our passion to create something new.
The shift from Tone 13 back to Tones 1 and 2 represent a state of our lowest energy and lower consciousness. Tones 1 and 2 are days when we are deeply involved in our inner work. We may see Truths about our self from a perspective of powerlessness. We can feel different, and sometimes, less capable than others to manifest the Love we dream about.
We are also shifting from a trecena of “Light” to “Dark,” from “Inspiration” to “Application.” This will be a “working” trecena and the job may seem harder in the beginning. Today, we might consider how hard it could be, and wonder if we are “enough” to accomplish the task. Human’s experience of Duality can become a “longing to be One with the Whole,” a desire to be equal to everyone else.
Monkey/CHUEN offers a perspective on Creation that can heal our emotions. We can always expect to face our feelings when we face the direction of the West. Residing in the West, CHUEN represents our Unknown Experiences and our Fears in response to an Unknown Future. Monkey guides a way.
Monkey/CHUEN creates out of curiosity and play. It tries things, just to see what happens. CHUEN connects our Intellect with our Intuition so that both sides of our brain are working together. The Monkey and the Dog are said to have a relationship of affinity, as they both see the Lighter Side of Life. Dog is the Spirit of Unconditional Love. Monkey/CHUEN Loves to Create.
CHUEN can help us get over our emotional stumbling blocks by not taking our Self so seriously. I’ll just say, I had a dark night of the soul. I always expect Dog to be happy go lucky. It felt like crashing from a bubble in the realm of Spirit into the hard reality of the world. This was very intense energy, I would have attributed to a Day Sign like AKBAL. I had to allow it – and “not taking it seriously” for me was just remembering this will pass. If you are caught between extreme feelings, the best way to get through it is to be curious to observe it. We always make it to the other side of the darkness. Maybe we need to be a “best friend” to our Self.
Under a cycle of application, we face the realities of our physical journey. It was easier to Dream of Love in the Inspiration of Spirit than in the world of Matter. We’ve been working very hard through the process of the reproductive cycle of this Tzolk’in round. We can claim that we’ve made rapid Spiritual progress, and our “matter” has to catch up.
I realized that in the world below, we expect to Know Love through ALL of our Senses. Knowing Love that only comes from Spirit will never be enough for Human. We can build from what we learned before, that creating Love is accomplished from the inside out and not the outside in. In other words, we have to Give First, Unconditionally, to Divinely Receive.
Experiencing Love through all our senses is clearly important as part of our Human design. We have to hear it, feel it, smell and taste it. My Mom’s smells from the kitchen were Love. Human’s need to See and Hear Love and feel the Touch of Love. Just as Mother Earth offers healing through a physical connection, so is there Healing Love through Human touch.
The Dog/OC trecena connects us to Dog’s tactile Love. It revels in all its senses. So, may we be guided to manifest Love that we can see, hear and feel. We learned we are all One in Heart, Mind and Body. We all share this longing for Human Love in a world Below. To receive it, we could explore a new creation of Love, from the Intention to give it.
Monkey/CHUEN is a day of mystical possibilities. It might only take eye contact. We might think of ways to TELL people we Love them, in the way they want to hear it or receive it. We can be more curious of others in our interactions. A dear young relative always says, I’d rather have cash, when I try to surprise with a gift. It’s a mind-set that’s been carried on for 20 years. I spend more doing it my way, because I want the surprise to be more “physical.” It costs more to do it my way. Why don’t I just listen?
To all my relations, may we observe our emotions and Offer them to the Creator as our Prayer. May we Acknowledge We Know there will be a Spiritual Tool given for every limitation. We can be a best friend to our Self. Monkey can heal our emotions when we turn to our Intellect and Curiosity to Observe it. In my darkest moments, I always wonder, “How is God going to fix this one?” There is always an answer when I share my feelings as the prayer. May we remember how different things can look in a new day. May we consider Our Own Way to Love Like a Monkey. Maybe we can make people laugh.
in lak’ech, I am another you

2 Monkey Chuen (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI )
Galactic Tone 2: Duality; Mysterious as the question “to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the May as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. It is also considered to be one of the most fortunate and lucky day signs.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: The Racoon Symbol is Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. UPDATE ON A LIFE DREAM:
On 4 Sun/AHAU I was able to make the reservations for the trip, arriving on October 28 as I had hoped to be there to celebrate Ian Lungold’s Mayan birthday, 12 Sun/AHAU, on October 31st along with the observance of the Day of the Dead. It felt important to the information I would share in my book. I’m grateful to be part of such a flow of Love, more necessary that money, for the realization of my dream. You are already the blessing of just being here. (But you could help me spread the word.) much love, in lak’ech, Debra https://www.gofundme.com/life-dream-a-pilgrimage-of-spirit

My 68th gregorian birthday is this week. I know what a healing it will be to see I’m just as capable as I have always been to charge off into the unknown for the experience. (Monkey must be talking.)
