THE TRECENA OF STORM/CAUAC
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 12 holds the Intention of Understanding. All our disassociated pieces and parts of Truth are drawn together as a New Functioning Whole. The CAUAC trecena was guiding us to see a Truth of Power from a Higher Perspective. On Tone 12 we see how a New Truth changes the way we will see everything in our future.
Tone 12 represents the Gift of Comprehension, when Truth is moved from the Head to the Heart. A Truth of Divine Power is what we were guided to Know, and held the Inherent thoughts to Know through an Intention of Faith. When we comprehend the Truth, it changes from a theory into our own Divine COMMON Sense.
COMMON Sense is a Divine thing holding a Power of Light over the darkness of the Unknown. COMMON Sense is what Human EXPECTS, so it is what we will be unconsciously looking for in every Human experience. We’ll be unconsciously looking for a way that opens the Road by a Power of Love.
Dog/OC resides at the Center of the Tzolk’in in Position 10 as the nahaul whose essence is Central to the Consciousness of a Supreme Creator. Dog holds that affinity with Monkey/CHUEN in Position 11. Positions 10 and 11 are the top of the “uinal” pyramid. Number 10 is the symbol of all the value of a one below, wholly invested in 1 Above. Number 11 is two minds of Consciousness working side-by-side, united by a Singleness of Purpose.
Dog/OC is wholly invested in the experience of Unconditional Love. Dog is a living demonstration of the way that Human was intended to experience the world Below. Dog/OC Loves Life through all its Senses. Dog is every human’s Best Friend.
The Dog, a totem Wolf, lives its life in the Pack. The Elders say that there are many totems who may appear in our Life for a Time and Purpose. Though, they say that when the totem Dog/Wolf appears, you will always be One of the Pack.
The Dog resides in the North, holding the Wisdom of Unconditional Love. Dog clearly sees Love as the Power for all the Happiness in the world. Dog Knows the Wisdom that Love can be created in any Time and Place, through the Giving. Giving Love can be directed as a Divine Choice. Giving as our Offering to God, there will never be a doubt of a Sacred Exchange. It will come from God’s Direction in God’s Time where we can see it as a Divine Miracle of Truth.
Holding the Element of Air, we can almost smell our first Breath of a New Life. The Element that is our COMMON field of thought, holds all the Light of the Creator’s Love. No matter which way we go, we’ll expect to find it. Love is what we will be looking for, and another chance to spread it around.
The totem Wolf has the nose for Love. It’s said that when one wolf brings back the Gift from an adventure, others in the pack can follow the trail all the way back to the place where it was found. Where Dog didn’t receive the Sacred Exchange, the Gift of Love is still there as a buried treasure that WILL be found by another mind in a Higher State of Consciousness.
The Dog Lives to explore Mother Earth and seek out through all its feelings, the buried treasures of Love. The Dog knows that Love is never rejected when it can be seen. When others don’t love back, it only means they can’t see it now.
Dog stands on the Truth of Love in the future by being faithful and loyal. Dog is the nahaul who stays with us beyond death to lead us to the “otherside” – along the Milky Way, “the place the dogs ran.” We are guided to stand in the same corner, believing there will be a Time when we will walk together.
Dog shows us how to REALLY LIVE, engaging all our Divine Senses in the Expression of God’s Love, which is the Beauty of Mother Earth. Dog reminds us to take in the WHOLE experience to build a new life for our Self. Becoming our “I Am” isn’t meant to be a half-hearted attempt, but a Leap of Faith to embrace “the whole enchilada.” Think of all the Light we could add to our daily walk by just taking in all the Beauty and the Light of LIVING and BEING on Mother Earth?
A Dog knows there’s enough Love waiting right outside the door to make the Whole Day worthwhile.
To all my relations, may we Give Thanks for the Dog that shares the Love of Human’s Best Friend. May we try to conceive the beauty someone else sees. Where we’ve met another Human that didn’t have any love to share, may we use our Dog’s nose to see that they weren’t ready or expecting to see Love in the expression we carried home. God will know. God will have a Divine Time and Place for it to be seen.
May we invest our Whole Self in a Leap at sharing the Creator’s Unconditional Love. May we Love the whole idea of it so much that it won’t matter so much when have to learn by trial and error.
May we believe in the Divine Relationships that will be forged in the future, and stand now in the corner for one who could be our very best friend in another Time and Place. The door is always open when we hold the key of forgiveness.
May we believe in the Unconditional Love that we can draw right out of thin Air, where a Divine Breath Promised the Justice of Harmony for the Whole. May we listen for the Wind and Remember to Stop, Look, and Listen to all the Beauty Here and Now.

12 Dog/OC (Cherokee, Wolf/KANA’TI)
Galactic Tone 12: Understanding. This number’s energy is a gift of great capability of retrospection. It is this ability that allows Twelve to connect disassociated parts into a (new) functioning whole. The energy of Twelve is that which presents a new piece of understood information or accumulated experience to be applied.
Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Dog persons share the nature of coyotes, spies, wolves and lawyers.
Cherokee, Wolf/KANA’TI: Wolf is symbolized by Sirius (Dog star) and Antares, one or the other always visible but never at the same time. Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots. All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance. Wolves are a connecting link between the worlds; ones who inspire loyalty, diplomacy and sense of humor with unlimited potential. Wolf is the Day Sign of teachers, healers, pathfinders and transformers; sharp as obsidian, gentle as a lamb.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
