4 Deer/MANIK, Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi – Destiny Kin: 107, Position 7

3 Deer / MANIK
Greetings Beloved Kin,
Tone 3 raises an Intention of Divine Trinity. On Tone 2 we try to see our way to complete the Creation. Tone 2 was the choice “to be or not to be.” It’s hard to see the ways and the means and hard to imagine the end as a possibility that’s equal by our own set of circumstances and by our own limitations. If we love the Dream, the only clear answer was, it would take a Power Greater than Our Self to reach the end.
Tone 3 is the Answer to a Prayer. Instead of trying to imagine everything from the beginning to the end, an experience that was impossible to know, the One Above inspires the first thing we need to do. Faith is always a matter of letting go. This is the 6th uinal of the Tzolk’in round, and we’re learning to go with the flow.
One step will always lead to another. We learn something with every step we take.
Deer/MANIK is the Destiny Kin of the Mayan priest who is dedicated to lead a path to an altar. The Mayan priest is not a “preacher,” but one who Counts the Days, offers healing, and carries out the Sacred Ceremonies that are ordered by Time on behalf of the whole.
MANIK is dedicated to a Mission to Love. There is always one Deer to keep vigilant watch on behalf of the whole. The circle on the glyph represents the Vigilant Eye of the Deer. The Deer is a symbol of Stability with a foot to plant in each of the 4 directions. Holding Position 7, the Deer sees “all that is” and “all that is not” a way forward to Higher Ground.

Algiz – Reaching for the Highest one, symbol of the Tree of Life, and the Divine Antennae of the Deer that’s tuned to the Vibration of Love
By Divine Design, Human are born Creators. Every Dream is a Gift that begins from a Divine Inspiration. Our mind of Reason is worthy to help us to discern the best way. It takes the Love of our Dream to hold Faith in the end, and to Remember the One who inspired us from the beginning, will share the Light with our Imagination for every next step. The Mission of the Mayan priest is to help us Remember what we already know.
Another name for MANIK is Hand, representing a Hand below that serves a Hand Above. When we dedicate our life to the purpose, we’re connected to all the Powers Above. The Hand on the glyph is shown grasping a thread of plasma that completes a circuit of Divine Power. A Divine Creator will always answer when we kneel in Humility to acknowledge the Truth of our limitations. Faith grows when we choose to follow the Creator’s Rules of Love. It may not be the fastest or easiest way, but the end will always be guaranteed in Divine Time.
It’s impossible to see the Miracle of Creation when we take advantage of someone else to reach the end. All we can see is a debt that’s due. The end never Feels like Holy Ground. Faith is raised to Holy Ground when we face the “impossible” way, that allows us the Time it takes to see the Creator’s Word is True. That’s the only way to “have it all,” the Dream, the Happiness, and the Faith to know all our Dreams are possible when our Highest Priority is to Live in Right Relationship.
MANIK holds a Gift of Harmonic Resonance. Every first step we take creates a Sound and Vibration, either through words we speak or action we take that Creates Movement. Intention creates the Tone and the Frequency that will be sustained to the end. When we choose to follow the Highest Way, we Remember with every Choice we make. When our Intention is Love we create a Sound of Harmony that draws lower vibrations into sympathy. The Heroes we remember are the ones who carry out a Divine Cause. No matter how much stuff you create by any means necessary, “you can’t take it with you.” Love is the only thing we Remember and Love carries on when we cross to the “other side.”
Holding the Element of Water, we’ll Feel the Highest ways through our Heart. The Mission of Love insures Peace, and maintains our Equilibrium. We’ll always Feel like we’re standing on solid ground when we follow the Creator’s way of Love.
Deer/MANIK is the keeper of Spiritual Tools that help us along the way. Spiritual Tools offer ways to see our prayers and remember. The Mayan priest holds the Medicine Bundle that was passed down by the Higher Priest that came before. MANIK reminds us to choose one or two so we’ll remember what they mean. MANIK has one very special tool that turns away the negativity of all our doubts and fears – the Truth of a Divine Provision for every Human limitation. That’s the Truth we can take up like a staff so we’ll never stumble.
Before our first step can Ask the Creator to guide our Dreams and give us the strength to follow through. Chances are you already know a next thing you can do. In the 6th uinal we are blessed by the Unseen Force of Momentum. It only takes a small step to establish the course and the direction. Love is an exponential power that can turn a small step into the journey to the end.
We don’t have to be perfect. That’s the Human Truth we have to admit from the start. There’s a Divine Reason for every Human limitation. That’s the only way we know the end is a Miracle and that our “impossible” was made “possible” by the Hand Above.

We’re not the Bambi anymore. We’ve grown to maturity. The Cherokee Deer symbolizes “the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull.” Our antlers are full grown as the Divine Antennae that tunes us in to the Highest Vibration and the Wisest Way. A Deer uses every faculty of vision like a pilot, watching for the first sign of Movement. A Deer sees trouble coming from a mile away in plenty of time to move to higher ground. Deer reflects the Strength of our Spirit. We can take an arrow to the heart and let it pass right through.
The Time is ordered to find your way to Remember. What Truth will you choose to stand on. What sacred object could you carry and what daily ritual could you put in place? One of the beauties of being different is that we share so many ways with each other. The Creator created everything that’s different so we could Choose our Way. Water is used by the Mayan priest for blessings, purification, initiation, and for the baptism of Spirit.
We can follow the order of time and use the Element of Water to consecrate a new path from the first step we take. May we count our blessings from the beginning for everything that God can do, and will do whenever we’re dedicated to a Divine Cause on behalf of the whole.
love, in lak’ech,

THE TRECENA OF SERPENT/CHICCHAN: Feeling Our Way

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide for an overview of this trecena and a Count of Days that includes the aspects for each day.
My gift for the Tzolk’in round is the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in round. The “Field Guide” is available to download from a link on the 13-day Trecena Guide Page.
3 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi) – Day 3 of 13 in the Serpent CHICCHAN’s cycle of “light.”
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
A GOOD DAY TO: Be of Service to Others.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
