Altar to the Ancestors
Change on the Scale of Life and Death
Greetings Beloved Kin,
Fall is in the Air in my little corner of Kansas. I thought it might be too good to be true that the grass has seemed to stop growing. A thunderstorm offered rain somewhere between the hours that we transitioned from Seed/KAN to Serpent/CHICCHAN. I tried to capture the sound of it but what’s missing from the video clip is the Feelings that came with each boom.
Fall may be the biggest transition we navigate every year, after investing all our energy in the growing season. Everything still looks the same before the leaves start turning at the Fall Equinox, but I felt the silence settling in this morning – except for the birds, chirping louder than ever. The planets in retrograde appear to come to a stop before they turn around. Even the morning candle on my altar to the Ancestors wasn’t flickering and I’ve never seen the flame (like a blow torch) that reached so high.
Peace is the Happiness we’re reaching for. It’s strange how uncomfortable it can feel, after navigating all the highest and lows. To keep climbing to the pinnacle of a Divine Experience of Unconditional Love we can’t afford to sit down. I actually found a picture online of a sign for tourists displayed at the bottom of the Pyramid of the Magician that warned, “Don’t Sit Down.” There isn’t room on the stairs to sit down without backsliding.
To carry on our climb to 9 Monkey/CHUEN, the Holy Day for an Initiation of Unconditional Love, we have to learn to claim the Happiness of Peace on Earth. Love was not meant to be a roller coaster ride, but the everyday Peace of knowing it will be here tomorrow through any season.
It’s up to us to find something to be grateful for when we’re “not feeling it.” I’m grateful for all the Signs and Symbols of Earth that mark the seasons of Time in Motion. A Divine Creator offers something to see that’s always right before our eyes.
CIMI is the Sign that we’re never alone, and that the Holy Spirits are always with us to see the Truth of what’s going on and know exactly what we need in the moment. The midwife and the hospice nurse keeps a very close eye on the subtle changes we can’t see to make plans in advance to prepare for the next thing we’ll need in the future.
The planets that are nearing the end of their retrograde:
Pluto Retrograde: May 1 – October 11, 2023
Disassembling our pieces and parts to “know thyself” and putting our whole-self back together again. It’s time to embrace the dark and the light within our self, to know how we can maintain the balance. (There’s a Harvest Moon to look forward to on September 29, 2023, and an old-self will be put to bed by the Annular Solar Eclipse, October 14, 2023.)
Saturn Retrograde: June 17 – November 4, 2023
A rest and retreat that allows time for change to occur for the work that is to come. Stationed in Pisces for the first time in 27 years, it’s stabilizing a transition of our Faith and what we believe. Is your Faith growing stronger? Consider how that will pay off in the long run.
The end of chaos is a matter of the pieces and parts that were up in the air falling back into their new place. It’s a good time for holding still. It doesn’t mean we’re coming to a stop. We need time to settle in to a new way of being. Opposing forces seem to be pushing harder on us to go back to our darkness and old fears of the unknown. (5 minutes of the news is more than I want to handle.) Let them keep pushing. We have a new foundation for Love that doesn’t need to force its way. We can rest, knowing that the ones that came before are part of the Light of every day, and they’ve walked this road before and know the Truth that’s just a round the corner on the other side.
CIMI is Time to celebrate the Life of the Whole in memorial. On a climb of Spirit we can claim the Unseen Forces that are forever working on our behalf. They know how we feel and they are preparing us for the Love that Rests in Peace.
Saturn is completing its retrograde in Pisces. The “taskmaster” planet is sharing the strength to stand up straight against the opposition of gravity. It’s said that when Saturn moves on it always leaves a blessing behind. When we no longer have to work harder to stand up straight, life can suddenly feel like a walk in the park for the inner strength we manifested from the experience.
Peace is what we were fighting for. May we claim that we are getting closer to knowing our way through the ups and downs as a “flat line” that’s the fastest route from Point A to Point B. May we get used to the idea that Love doesn’t have to hurt and we don’t have to keep trying harder to know it, when we know it’s here today and tomorrow.
Those that missed the blessing of a family that was always in our corner through our experience of childhood can take on a way of living that needs to always be pleasing and caretaking, for fear we could lose our birthright of Love. Unconditional Love is different. We can take the time we need to take care of our own life, equal to the time we serve others.
The most important ones to serve with all our Heart are the invisible Spirits that we can’t see. They deserve to be served every day in all ways for being the forever hands of Divine Love that never left us wondering what could happen to us if we lost our place tomorrow.
Stop, look, and listen with your Heart as you keep on going. There are plenty of Signs of the Beauty of Love all around us to Look to See. Beauty is the perspective that raises Peace and Love in our Heart and turns our thoughts to the Highest One who offered everything we need to find our own happiness in every moment.
I remember you with all my prayers to the ancestors. This isn’t our first time around. The living were born to a meaning and purpose to carry on the Love we learned before. We are One with the Human Race that was planted on Earth since the beginning of Our Time. We don’t know how beautiful life has been until we know it’s almost over again.
love, in lak’ech, i am another you

The climb to the Heart of Sky.
THE JATUAR’S EARTH MAGIC OF GRATITUDE:
I’m grateful that we can know for all the ones we’ve loved and lost that when their end came, they were not alone.
We’re not alone on our climb to Higher Ground. The One we’re reaching to know is looking down, watching and waiting for the day we’re reunited again and we see each other face to face. Tomorrow we’ll be more than halfway there on Tone 5 of the climb from Tone 1 to Tone 9… the day that Patience raises us to see the Big Picture.
Don’t look up. Don’t look down. And don’t stop. Keep clinging to the next step until the revelation of a Miracle, when we know the next step is the last.

THE TRECENA OF NIGHT/AKBAL: A Higher Dream we Know is Meant to come True
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide Page for the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” My gift for the Tzolk’in round offers an overview for each 13-day trecena and the aspects of each day of the Tzolk’in round. The page also offers a link to resources for your own practice of counting the days to conceive your own discernment of the Meaning of Time.
NEW SEASON – VOLUME 2: Tzolk’in Seasons 3 and 4 (PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 20, 2020)
NOTE: You can also look at dates from a different direction. What is the Destiny Kin number of your day sign’s 3rd tone? You may have overlooked a life-changing day. Use the Kin Calculator offered on the Daykeeper’s Resource Page for a date six years before or after. If you are just starting to count the days and don’t have a journal from the last round, when something major happens in your life you can look to see if there was a major event on that same date before. You can also look for Signs in the “distance of time” – the number of days between one day and another, from the Time and Date Calculator linked on the resources page. Example – 33 days is a symbol of a day that you actualize the Truth from the beginning date.

Galactic Tone 4: Stability. Four is the cube the most stable of all forms, and the establishment of volume by definition. The four directions give orientation to any form as the height, length, depth and breadth give shape to any form. The energy of Four sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Transformer/CIMI: Cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Transformer persons achieve goals and emotional wealth. Transformer people can become highly respected business persons. They have the ability to help others through any and all transitions with tranquility due to their spiritual strength and guidance. Communities often benefit from Transformers discipline and organization skills. They strengthen the life of pregnant women and guide them through the transitions of maternity. Establishing contact with the ancestors activates innate psychic abilities, gifts to be used as tools to assist others. Transformers can have the ability to send evil intentions telepathically, this is their undoing. From these acts they lose power, easily fall into a victim role and begin to manipulate with a vengeance.
A GOOD DAY TO: Tie all loose ends.
Cherokee, Twins/ TAKATO’KA: Twins symbolize the Female Sun and Male Moon, whose union keeps the world going round. Cherokee myth has the Morning Star heralding the Sun, Venus, also being the Evening Star as representing the TWINS. The energy brings major changes all throughout life, riding the tsunamis of earthquake and upheaval, making their own waves wherever they go. They undergo powerful transformations, alternating like a flashing neon sign. The challenge is to master Balance while experiencing Chaos leading to re-birth and abundance through infinity.
