SPACEWEATHER: Perseid Meteor Shower and Incoming CME’s

Meteors Shower Peaks, Auroras May Join the Show

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 08/11/2024

THE PERSEID METEOR SHOWER IS HAPPENING: Earth is passing through a stream of debris from Comet Swift-Tuttle, source of the annual Perseid meteor shower. Forecasters say the shower will peak tonight, Aug. 11-12, with dozens of bright meteors per hour visible from dark-sky sites. The best time to look is during the dark hours between midnight and dawn on Monday morning. [observing tips]

David E. Johnson of Joliet, Illinois, caught this early Perseid cutting across M33 on Aug. 10th:

“I was imaging M33 with my Seestar S50, and during the exposure time, a relatively bright Perseid meteor passed directly through the field of view,” says Johnson.

Northern sky watchers may be able to catch Perseids framed by auroras. The shower will peak during a predicted G2-class geomagnetic storm.

ONE CME HAS ARRIVED, MORE TO COME: A CME struck Earth on Aug. 10th (1230 UT), but the impact was weak and it did not cause a geomagnetic storm. At least two more CMEs are on the way. Their arrival on Aug. 11th and 12th could cause G2-class geomagnetic storms.

Messier 33: The Triangulum Constellation:

Triangulum or Messier 33 is a small constellation in the northern sky. Its name is Latin for “triangle”, derived from its three brightest stars, which form a long and narrow triangle.

The Ancient Greeks called Triangulum Deltoton (Δελτωτόν), as the constellation resembled an upper-case Greek letter delta (Δ).

In the Babylonian star catalogues, Triangulum, together with Gamma Andromedae, formed the constellation known as MULAPIN (𒀯𒀳) “The Plough”. The Plough was the first constellation of the “Way of Enlil“—that is, the northernmost quarter of the Sun’s path, which corresponds to the 45 days on either side of summer solstice. Basic Format of the Shamanic Mesa

Monkey/CHUEN in Position 11 represents the Consciousness of Inspiration from the Highest One. CHUEN holds the Power of Creation, receiving Light from the Source of Divine Inspiration. The Medicine Wheel and other shamanic traditions identify the path of the Light originating in the Northwest, crossing the center to the Southeast (the place in time for receiving Divine Inspiration). It resembles the photo of the meteor’s path crossing M33. Master Number 33 is the symbol of the Master Teacher, associated with the “Christ Spirit.”

Synchronicity: On a Day ordered for Divine Inspiration, our attention is drawn to see the lights of meteors marking the path with forecasts that Auroras may join the landscape. On the altars (called Mesa) of the Peruvian shaman, the course of the Light from the Northwest to the Southeast is represented by a cord between the two points that crosses the center of the circle, a station for the Stone of Spirit.

Surrounding the center Spirit stone of the Mesa, the Elements are represented by symbols of Fire (East), Earth (South), Water (West), and Air (North). The Mesa as a whole represents the Cosmology of the Universe.

Source of Shamanic Teachings: Peruvian Curandero, Psychologist and Author, don Oscar Miro-Quesada, Peruvian shaman and founder of the Heart of the Healer Foundation offers shamanic mystery school teachings via live and on-demand video classes, and supports an international community of students and practitioners. His book, “Lessons in Courage: Peruvian Shamanic Wisdom for Everyday Life” offers his life story, and his calling to the path of the “wounded healer.” (While there are many who claim to be shaman, there are actually very few who qualify from a lifetime practice as the “real thing.” An introduction is very beneficial as a personal healing modality.)

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

A GOOD DAY TO: Begin anything new in your life.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoon is full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

  1. yes yes yes every year I look up this night hoping to see it. I have never seen a meteor. Like Linus and The Great Pumpkin, I hope some day I will see it.

    • I saw them once years ago on Whidbey Island – which was a miracle of a clear sky. There was one after another. My daughter and I bundled up with cocoa and blankets on lawn chairs for the show between 1-2AM. I hope you have clear dark skies for it. 🙂
