Sundogs Taken by Brian Loch on January 12, 2025 @ Tioga, ND
RARE COMPLEX ICE HALO DISPLAY: Bone-chilling cold. Blowing snow. Penetrating Arctic wind. Add them all together and you get a sunrise that looks like this:

Brian Loch photographed the display on Jan. 12th from Tioga, North Dakota. Each luminous arc and rainbow-colored patch is a type of sun halo, caused by sunlight shining through ice crystals in the air. There is a parhelic circle, a supralateral arc, a 22-degree halo, a circumzenithal arc, an upper tangent arc, a Parry arc, a sun pillar and a pair of sundogs.
Complex halos like this require not just one type of ice crystal, but many, with gem-like perfection and precise crystal-to-crystal alignment. Clouds that contain such an ensemble of ice crystals are rare. In this case, the clouds had help–from the wind, which lifted an assortment of “diamond dust” crystals right off the ground.
“The air temperature was only -5 F, but I didn’t want to go back inside,” says Loch. “These were visible for quite a while!”
M7.4-class Solar Flare

A FAST-GROWING SUNSPOT: Watch this movie. It shows 24 hours of sunspot 3964. Yesterday, the sunspot didn’t exist. Now, it is the size of two planet Earths. The sunspot’s rapidly changing magnetic field is crackling with solar flares, including this M7.4-class explosion just hours ago. Fresh SOHO coronagraph data are needed to confirm a possible Earth-directed CME. Stay tuned for updates!
Mayan Time
7 Dog/OC is the pinnacle position of the top of the uinal pyramid in the 10th Position, the Master’s Number. Tone 7 is the height of Consciousness in each 13-day climb, where we see “all that is” and “all that is not” from Human’s point of view. Tone 7 begins the zenith hour of brightest illumination. The Seed/KAN is the “dragon energy” in the seed that knows the “Facts of its Life.” The Dog/OC leads us back across the Milky Way, “where the Dog ran” to gather souls for heaven.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.
Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Dog persons share the nature of coyotes, spies, wolves and lawyers.
A GOOD DAY TO: Enjoy family and friends. (No matter how near or far.)
Cherokee, Wolf/KANA’TI: Symbol is Sirius (Dog star) and Antares, one or the other always visible but never at the same time. Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots. All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance. Connecting link between the worlds. One who inspires loyalty, diplomacy and sense of humor with unlimited potential. A teacher, healer, pathfinder and transformer. Sharp as obsidian, gentle as a lamb.
