Venus Shining in the City of Love

VENUS-MOON CONJUNCTION: This weekend, the crescent Moon and Venus are close together in the sunset sky. Gwenael Blanck photographed the conjunction from Paris, France:

“This is one of those rare celestial events that makes people look up,” says Blanck. “A lot of tourists and passers-by were admiring the scene while I was shooting. They could not miss the bright Moon and Venus, but many of them could not see Saturn because of city lights. Here it is.”

The planets are moving apart now, but still clustered tightly enough for a beautiful sky show. Step outside after sunset an look west. It’s a nice way to end the day.

THE SOLAR WIND HAS ARRIVED: Earth is inside a stream of solar wind flowing from a large hole in the sun’s atmosphere. With wind speeds topping 600 km/s, the stream could spark a G1-class (Minor) geomagnetic storm on Feb. 2nd. High latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

Transformer/CIMI: Cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Transformer persons achieve goals and emotional wealth. Transformer people can become highly respected business persons. The energy brings major changes all throughout life, riding the tsunamis of earthquake and upheaval, making their own waves wherever they go. They undergo powerful transformations, alternating like a flashing neon sign. The challenge is to master Balance while experiencing Chaos leading to re-birth and abundance through infinity.
