SPACEWEATHER: Comets, Meteor Shower, and Auroras

Solar System Peak Activity in October

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 10/16/2025

MULTIPLE CMEs COULD SPARK AURORAS TONIGHT: All week long, active sunspot 4246 has been puffing CMEs toward Earth–at least three of them. Although the CMEs are individually faint and relatively slow, they could combine to cause a G2-class geomagnetic storm when they arrive on Oct. 16th. If such a storm materializes, auroras could descend into a dozen or more northern-tier US states.

COMET LEMMON IS APPROACHING EARTH: On Oct. 21st, Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) will make its closest approach to Earth. The brightening comet has reached magnitude +4.5, making it an easy target for off-the-shelf cameras. “Here’s a quick shot with my old 135mm Pentax Takumar,” says P-M Hedén of Vallentuna, Sweden:

“I managed to see the comet through binoculars and it was a beautiful sight,” says Hedén. “I could see part of the tail, too, beside the classic green ball.”

At closest approach, the comet will be 0.6 AU away–not super close, but near enough to vault the comet to naked-eye visibility at 3rd or 4th magnitude. Even cell phones with night-sky photo settings should be able to catch it.

Look for Comet Lemmon low in the northwestern sky after sunset. Its relatively low altitude in a dark sky will provide excellent opportunities to frame it with a scenic foreground.

Comet Lemmon 2025 Explained: Key Facts and Visibility Guide

Comet Lemmon showed up in January and suddenly became the candidate for the best comet of 2025. There are likely no other comets reaching that brightness this year.

Don’t lose precious time — the best period to see Comet Lemmon from the Northern Hemisphere started in mid-October and will last until around November 2. During this period, C/2025 A6 will be near Earth and can become visible to the naked eye under dark, moonless skies away from city lights. Peak brightness is expected around Halloween, October 31-November 1. (See StarWalk for more details.)

NASA Solar Science:
The Sun is the star at the heart of our solar system. Its gravity holds the solar system together, keeping everything — from the biggest planets to the smallest bits of debris — in its orbit.

Orionid Meteor Shower 2025: Where & How To See It In October

Get ready for a dazzling celestial spectacle! The Orionids will peak on October 21, delivering up to 20 meteors per hour under perfect observing conditions — the peak coincides with the New Moon. As an extraordinary bonus, you can see two bright comets — Lemmon and SWAN — on the same night!

Orionids are considered a major meteor shower. They are active from October 2 to November 7.

MAYAN CALENDAR TIME AND SYNCHRONICITY

The trecena of Earth/CABAN relates to Forces of Nature. CABAN represents the Clarion Call that begins every Great Migration on Earth. Near the Equinox, the magnetic poles of Sun and Earth are most connected. Geomagnetic attraction is the GPS of living things on Earth. We are being drawn by Forces toward our own True North.

The heavenly lights in the Fall herald the new birth of Light at the Winter Solstice. The heavens are stirred up by forces from all directions. Scientists have reported that Lightning on Earth is triggered by cosmic events lightyears away. (We’re also waiting on Star TrCB1 to nova. Latest forecast is November 10 for the next once-in-80-year event.)

6 Wind/IK represents the Power of the Word. Everything that is was spoken as the Breath of Creation. We are reminded that God is the Sovereign power of the Universe and TIME, from the beginning to the end.

Wind/IK represents the Power of God’s Word of Truth to change our mind. We are being recalibrated for a new Time and a New Season of Light. Wind/IK reminds us to Discern the Truth for our Self. Don’t depend on another Human Being. Ask God, Watch and Wait and he will reveal the Truth when it’s Time to know.

John 14:6 NIV
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

THE TRECENA OF EARTH/CABAN: THE CLARION CALL TO  OUR HEART

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

It only takes 13 days to see how Faith is always raised to Knowing the Truth of Answered Prayers. You only have to track your thoughts. Record the matters on your mind in a journal to see how your perspective is changed by a Divine Order of Thoughts.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.

Earth/CABAN is the 3rd trecena in the 3rd Season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 2.

NOTE: Tone 1 reflects the 1st Light of Divine Inspiration as the “legend” of this chapter of Time. If you forget where you are, return to Tone 1 to see the “First Light” of Divine Inspiration.

6 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA) –  Day 6 of 13 of the 1 Earth/CABAN trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Free Calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 6: Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.

Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.

A GOOD DAY TO: Send Communications of all kinds.

Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the leader of the dance who created the Truth and the Way. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
