A “Reverse Shock” Sparks Solar Storm

UPPER ATMOSPHERIC LIGHTNING OVER ITALY: There’s a famous scene in the movie Independence Day where the alien mothership deploys its lightning weapon over the White House. It looked something like this:

This is not a scene from a movie. It’s a real photo of upper atmospheric lightning taken on Nov. 28th by Valter Binotto of Possagno, Italy. “This is a rare double formation of sprites and ELVEs,” he says.

The sprites are the red, tentacled objects in the middle. The red ‘flying saucer’ surrounding them is the ELVE.

Even professional monitoring stations rarely catch both phenomena at once. For example, a 2025 conference paper from the Pierre Auger Observatory describes their first clearly simultaneous observations using dedicated TLE cameras. The fact that they’re publishing “first observations” in 2024–2025 tells you this combination is noteworthy.

ELVEs are harder to catch than sprites in part because they require very strong lightning–the kind of bolt that generates an intense electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The red ring marks the spot where the EMP hit Earth’s ionosphere, fading away after less than a millisecond.

“Thanks to the stars present, I was able to measure the altitude of the ELVE at about 85 km and its diameter at about 230 km,” says Binotto.

For comparison, the mothership in Independence Day was 550 km in diameter, so this ELVE was a lesser but worthy rival.

‘REVERSE SHOCK’ SPARKS GEOMAGNETIC STORM: A reverse shock in the solar wind passed by Earth on Dec. 10th (around 2000 UTC), sparking a G2-class geomagnetic storm. Reverse shocks form between closely-spaced CMEs where the slow-fast-slow structure of the solar wind can sharply decelerate gaseous material. The storm is subsiding now.

Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.

Flint/ETZNAB: Mirror of reality. As a struck flint, these persons are the divine sparks of intelligence. Flint’s innate abilities are utilized to discriminate emotions from fact. Flint persons stand tireless to protect, defend, or cure others by personal sacrifice. By courageously wielding the sword of truth, falsehoods are cut away. Flints, it was said, can receive information on inter-personal troubles or evil plots of others by reflecting in an obsidian mirror. Their valiant service as warriors of the truth must be impeccable or they will experience sufferings of accidents, misunderstandings and gossip.

A GOOD DAY TO: Spend time in reflection and introspection.

Cherokee, Flint/DAWI’SGALA: Flint’s symbol is Chawa’ or Castor of the Castor and Pollux Twins in Gemini.  Castor appears in the evening personifying darkness. Pollux then appears in the east at dawn to end the night. Totem is a Flint Knife.  Flint spirit shone a light like the sun and gave the people the Sacred Venus Calendar, fixed the days and promised to watch over the earthlings.  A flint person endeavors to keep that covenant.  Opener of the Way, a creator, innovator, stretches the mind to outside limits of capabilities. Changes the static to the dynamic.  Brings about change, often through separation and destruction.  Beams the Stellar Ray of Truth to Earth as a crystal sword cast down along the path of a lightning flash. The transformer brings things to a head and wipes the slate clean.
