A behemoth Sunspot is on the way to the Earth-facing side and eaglets at Big Bear Valley are practicing for a near-future launch into their first flight.

A LARGE SUNSPOT IS COMING: Europe’s Solar Orbiter can see something we can’t: A large sunspot on the farside of the sun. For the past three days, the distant research spacecraft has been watching the sunspot approach the farside’s edge:
When it reaches the dashed line labeled 270o, the sunspot will become visible from Earth and enter our planet’s “strike zone.” ETA: Two days. Then, any flares it produces will be felt here.
Interestingly, the sunspot has not yet produced any strong flares, according to Solar Orbiter’s onboard X-ray detector. It is strangely quiet for a sunspot of its size. The calm before the storm? We will find out in two days.
Today’s Sun – Already-earth-facing Sunspot 4473 is still active and harbors energy for M-Class flares. Solar winds from a coronal hole are already on the way – ETA June 26-27, 2026.
Fledge Watch: Big Bear Valley
Luna and Sandy, eaglets at Big Bear Valley, are living on the edge and exercising their wings for their first flight. It’s hard to tell from the closeup web cam how big they are. Fledgling eagles have a wingspan of over 6 feet. Their fledgling flights could be any day now.

Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.
Road/EB: The bearer of time and conductor of destiny; also known as Human; these persons open the road and guide to the future groups, communities and individuals alike. Likable, obedient, dedicated hard workers and organizers, Road persons are fortunate in business and travel. Many become care takers of the poor, sick, or old people, where they may make personal sacrifices. Road is sometimes referred to as the sign of grass, which is the most bountiful of all life forms, but is also the most humble. Road persons are affectionate and emphatic; they are easily hurt but slow to anger. Holding in of negative emotions and unexpressed resentment can lead to illness, a poisoned opinion of others and a false bravado for this sun sign.
