SPACEWEATHER: Solar Flare Alert, Red and Green Airglow

SOLAR FLARE ALERT:

Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected a M3.2 class solar flare at 26-Jul-2026 at 15:28:00 UTC.

An R1 (minor) radio blackout is possible on the sunlit side of Earth.

It’s hard to say which “quiet” part of the Sun produced the eruption. The Sunspot number and details will be forthcoming from Spaceweather.com.

RED AND GREEN AIRGLOW: On Friday night in Jouhe, France, Nicolas Rossetto pointed his camera out of a roof window to catch the sky before wildfire smoke moved in. He saw something better than a clear sky: waves of red and green airglow rippling across the stars.

“What a display!” says Rossetto. “The ripples were quite striking.”

Airglow is the atmosphere glowing in the dark. By day, sunlight energizes molecules at the edge of space; at night they release that energy as soft light. The ripples are atmospheric gravity waves launched by storms on Earth sweeping upward through the airglow later.

Here’s what makes Rossetto’s images special: they show two layers at once. The green light comes from oxygen atoms about 95 km high. The red comes from OH (hydroxyl) molecules in a layer just below, near 87 km. Look carefully at the animation: the red and green ripples share the same wavelength and move at the same speed. That’s because a single gravity wave is passing through both layers, lighting them up in different colors as it climbs toward space.

Most cameras never see the red. OH is actually the brightest airglow emission of all, but it shines mainly in the near-infrared–exactly where the IR-cut filter inside a standard camera blocks the view. Rossetto’s Canon 6D has been modified with that filter removed, opening a window most photographers don’t have.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

The Holy of Holy Days

Climbing the Pyramid of the Magician in Uxmal

The trecena of Night/AKBAL leads to 9 Monkey/CHUEN, the Day the Bride of Christ ascends to the Father’s throne. The Maya refer to it as the Initiation of the Mayan Priestess.

3 Serpent/CHICCHAN begins the climb as we navigate the rising tides of the Full Thunder Moon. AKBAL represents a Dark Night of the Unknown. We might expect the unexpected from the blazing Sun. It’s the steepest climb as 150 steps at a 60-degree angle.

Everything is going to be okay, and Trust the Lord in all things. The end that’s promised is the Answer to our prayers.

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for flexibility and fluidity.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.
