Equatorial Bubbles: GPS might go haywire

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 07/24/2025

EQUATORIAL PLASMA BUBBLES ARE COMING FOR YOUR GPS: Earth’s ionosphere is a bit like Swiss cheese. It contains holes called “equatorial plasma bubbles.” If any of these bubbles drift across your sky–grip the steering wheel–your GPS might go haywire.

New Moon, July 24, 2025 – The Month of the Hungry Ghosts

New Moon in Leo, July 24, 2025, 2:11 PM CDT (7:11 PM UTC)

The New Moon begins the cycle that leads to the Full Sturgeon Moon, August 9, 2025. In the days of our Native American ancestors, it was a Time of plenty. Today it’s a cautionary tale. Sturgeon populations have been diminished by those who harvested their roe. Known as the “Sea Butter of Caviar,” by the source I found sells for $75.00 USD per ounce.

In China, the month is observed as the Hungry Ghost moon cycle. Hungry ghost is a term in Buddhism, and Chinese traditional religion, representing beings who are driven by intense emotional needs in an animalistic way. The International Buddhist Society describes people who have fallen into the realm of hungry ghosts are “those who abused their power, greedy, stingy, dishonest, unkind, deceitful, and indulged in lust and killing. We must pay close attention to our thoughts and actions, and stay on the right path to avoid committing bad karma and suffer from the retribution of bad consequences.”

Beware the Hungry Ghosts!

(Details and traditions are included on last year’s post.)
