Leviticus 5 KJV
5 And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
Leviticus outlines the offerings required for the Atonement of Sins. It didn’t matter whether the people were aware of it or not. The Jewish tradition is to claim we are guilty of every Human sin to rise beyond the weight of the iniquity. There is a Divine reason to Fear the Lord. In the month of Elul, we reflect on the sins of Humanity and the debt we owe to the One without sin who saved us all.
