Lilies, 2023
I spent a small fortune last year, planting potted plants across an empty flowerbed across the front of the house, then watering twice a day during a scorching heat wave. Assuming another year of the same, I settled for one tomato plant and some fresh mint for my iced tea in a pot by the back door.
I planted the white lily after its one bloom was gone to mark the final resting place for a fallen bird. Thanks to Mother Earth, it multiplied.
