A Power of Vocalization

Greetings Beloved Kin,
The Full Wolf Moon was named for the wolves’ chorus that marks the boundaries and parameters of their territory, unites them as hunting and procreation. It’s a call to life at the Center of the Winter season. The Full Moon in Leo doubles down as a “time to roar.” The Time is ordered to express our self in our own way through movement, communication, and personal appearance. Symbols of the Sun offer a Revelation of Identity. We can celebrate through Sound that we have our own identity, and the choice to own it. We’re changing. We don’t have to know the end, only the Major Life Change in progress.

The Sun is vocalizing through dozens of Solar Flares and highly active earth-directed Sun spots. Imagine that we’re having a Loud conversation where both the Sun/AHAU (Lord of Creation) and our “I Am” are drawn to See and Acknowledge one another. Through the Sun/AHAU trecena we were drawn to a Higher Consciousness of our “Guiding Light.”

Hyperactive Solar Vocalization

HYPERACTIVE SUNSPOT: The sun is crackling with solar flares, and almost all of them are coming from hyperactive sunspot AR3561. There have been more than a dozen M-class eruptions in the past day and a half. (Source: Spaceweather.com 01/24/2024)

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH (G1): NOAA forecasters say there is a chance of minor G1-class geomagnetic storms for the next 3 days. This is in response to multiple CMEs expelled by the sun, some of them approximately aimed at Earth. Glancing blows could disturb our planet’s magnetic field on Jan. 24th, 25th and 26th.

The Full Moon’s Full Reflection of the Sun’s Light

(Page includes local dates and times in cities around the world.)

The very first full moon of the year is known in many cultures as the Full Wolf Moon, which is appropriate given the deep, ancient ties between wolves and January’s full moon. For instance, the Gaelic word for January, Faoilleach, comes from the term for wolves, faol-chù, even though wolves haven’t existed in Scotland for centuries. The Saxon word for January is Wulf-monath, or Wolf Month. Meanwhile, the festival of the Japanese wolf god, Ooguchi Magami, is held in January. The Seneca tribe links the wolf so strongly to the moon, they believe that a wolf gave birth to the moon by singing it into the sky. Just why are wolves so strongly associated with January’s full moon?

The most obvious answer is because wolves are much louder and more noticeable in January, which is when breeding season begins. Wolves begin to howl more frequently and aggressively to establish their territory, threatening neighbors and enemies alike to stay far away from their breeding grounds. A small pack of wolves may even try to make themselves seem like a larger pack by howling together. While a lone wolf can sustain a howl for the duration of a single breath, an entire pack may howl in unison for longer than two minutes during breeding season.

Old Farmer’s Almanac: Wolf Moon, Full Moon in January 2024

It’s thought that January’s full Moon came to be known as the Wolf Moon because wolves were more likely to be heard howling at this time. It was traditionally believed that wolves howled due to hunger during winter, but we know today that isn’t accurate.

Howling and other wolf vocalizations are heard in the wintertime to locate pack members, reinforce social bonds, define territory, and coordinate hunting.

Another fitting name for this full Moon is the Center Moon. Used by the Assiniboine people of the Northern Great Plains, it refers to the idea that this Moon roughly marks the middle of the cold season.

Other traditional names for the January Moon emphasize the harsh coldness of the season: Cold Moon (Cree), Frost Exploding Moon (Cree), Freeze Up Moon (Algonquin), and Severe Moon (Dakota). Hard Moon (Dakota) highlights the phenomenon of the fallen snow developing a hard crust.

Canada Goose Moon (Tlingit), Great Moon (Cree), Greetings Moon (Western Abenaki), and Spirit Moon (Ojibwe) have also been recorded as Moon names for this month.

The Tone and Frequency of Vibration is set by the Spirit’s Energy of Intention

We feel the difference of someone running toward us for a hug, than for an intention of harm. We feel the “vibes” in a room where conflict is taking place differently that we feel the “vibe” of a sanctuary.

Among the first offering of Wisdom from the Elders were the chants to the directions: (East: Ah, South: Eh, West: Ee, North: Oh: and Within: Ooh (like “you”). For each direction, first we honored the meaning: East is where the Sunrises with the Divine Inspiration. The Light of the East brings all things to Life. South is the foundation of Earth where we share a Common Path and learn way of Right Relationship with one another and with the Natural World. The West is the Unlimited Possibility of the Unknown Future, where we Imagine the Light of our own Creation. And the North is the Wisdom from Above that we claim through the Truth of our Known Experience. The North shares the Wisdom of Time. You can think of all the symbols of the directions mean to you (ie. the Intentions of their Light and Darkness). After acknowledging a direction, repeat the chant 4 times. Make your own note and in your clearest voice, you will feel your body reverberating as one with the sound. It doesn’t matter what song you sing. Our Highest Offering is our gratitude for the Light of our Experiences of Living. For the chant within, we can claim our Self with all our differences that lend to the special talents and experiences we have to share with one another. We only have to be a “star” in a tiny corner of the world for our Vibrations of Love to ripple through the whole.

If the wolves do it, it’s good enough for me as an expression of the Creator’s Divine Design. You can hear that clear note and vibration in the Wolf’s howl. The Lion’s roar feels more about the force of a full throated breath from the abdomen. FYI – The Jaguar’s Roar. The Intention sets the Tone and Frequency.

Debra, 9 Eagle/MEN

PS. Keep on smiling. Whatever crosses your path, remember you have the Biggest, Brightest Father at your side. You’ve got the backup to get away with a little roar (especially when it’s between you and the Light of the Stars). The Monkey would try it.

12 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI) – Day 12 of 13 of the 1 Sun/AHAU trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 12: Understanding. This number’s energy is a gift of great capability, of retrospection. It is this ability that allows Twelve to connect disassociated parts into a (new) functioning whole. The energy of Twelve is that which presents a new piece of understood information or accumulated experience to be applied.

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

A GOOD TIME TO: Begin anything new in your life.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

  1. I do this every day (but didn’t know the proper associated sounds), “…chants to the directions: (East: Ah, South: Eh, West: Ee, North: Oh: and Within: Ooh (like “you”),” and am so thankful for the sacred meaning associated with each direction! Ah!
