2 Deer/MANIK -Journey of Transformation

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

2-deer

2 Deer/MANIK

Galactic Tone 1 opened us to new inspiration about what we might choose to focus on as our intention for this trecena. Now, on Galactic Tone 2, we consider the possibilities to set a clear direction.

Deer/MANIK arrives early in the trecena to provide the Spiritual Tools we may rely on to navigate our transformation. May we use our discernment to see the differences between the changes we might seek and those that God might choose as our highest intention.

THE TRECENA OF TRANSFORMER/CIMI – JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION

2 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.

DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Journey of Transformation: Day 2

Galactic Tone 2 is a day for making choices and for seeing something from an alternative perspective. As I considered the changes that would most improve my life, I find myself questioning my own judgement about which experiences are worthy by my own definition. I’m inclined to choose goals for change that resolve my own discomfort. The Cherokee description of Deer notes that challenges to our freedom and security inspire leadership and innovative solutions… necessity is the mother of invention.

I’ve learned that God’s ways are easier than my own. I make things more difficult than they need to be. The easiest position we could take is to surrender all change under the direction of God’s Will. I know God’s ways are higher than my own. Within my challenge may be the greatest gift I have to give. With a plan to flow with the changes initiated through Divine Will, I can remove all my fear of failure. I can remember that the work before me was intended by God, and as such I can celebrate each step of the process as an initiative of God’s Higher Plan.

Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign that is capable to remove all our limitations. All we have to do is identify the sticking points that might hold us back and Deer/MANIK can customize a Spirit Tool to remove that limitation.

As we call on the help of our ancestors and offer our supplications to God, we can engage another surrender. We can ask for the Divine Spirit within us to complete our prayers. Whatever we have left unsaid, unappreciated, or unloved – we can humbly ask Divine Spirit to complete on our behalf, so our prayers are raised to their highest intention. Through our own humility we are surrendered to the Divine Power of God.

To all my relations, may we be led by God’s discernment so that we can Love Every Thing Unconditionally as the intention of Divine Will.

  1. Thank you for the kind words. Your face is always a bright spot here. I’ve been reading blogs by so many people sharing their personal struggles. Their courage in rising above them is such a thing of beauty. We don’t WISH for challenges, though I’m reminded of how God can make the things we struggle with into something of great value. in lak’ech, Debra
