MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
We enter a new beginning under the guidance of Wisdom/CIB, the Day Sign that brings new wisdom and connects us to the Old Ones, the Ascended Masters who walked this way before. The glyph represents the mind in a state of contemplation, reflection and forgiveness. The CIB trecena can clear the way for greater Spiritual progress and help us to manifest a transformation to Higher Consciousness.
CIB calls us to enter a time of personal reflection with the courage to look at ourselves and re-examine our thoughts. As we make an honest assessment of our challenges CIB can help us clear our negative patterns of the past. As Humans, we all fall short and each deserve and need forgiveness so we can continue to move forward. CIB can bring the very Essence of Grace when we willingly open their hearts to acknowledge where healing is most needed.
We have just completed the Akbal trecena that helped us connect our Intuition with our Intellect. Now, Wisdom/CIB can help us make the connection from Head to the Heart. CIB can teach us something about Compassion and Forgiveness for ourselves and others.
Grace is a necessary to Believe in our Dreams. We can be bound by life’s disappointments or by our past failure to meet our own expectations. We all have our sticking points of resentment toward ourselves, others, and the world at large. These can either be our greatest obstacles, or the catalyst to our own Transformation. CIB brings the purpose to clear away these obstacles with Truth that will be learned from Reasoning and Forgiveness.
This trecena includes two portal days. Tomorrow’s portal, 2 Earth/CABAN (Kin 197), magnifies our Reasoning Power as we consider a new sacred intention. And, a portal on Peak Day, 8 Night/AKBAL, may magnify our Dreams and the Voices of the Ancestors.
This is a time to reset the altar for a new cycle of transformation. On the Native American path it is customary to bring an offering of tobacco, a gift of sacred Medicine tied as a bundle in red cloth, to one who would serve in the formal role of Teacher. We might include a Medicine Gift bundle tied in a red cloth to honor the Wisdom Bringers (whether tobacco, herbs, cornmeal or sage, holding our prayers), to serve as a worthy symbol of our presence to receive a new understanding.
To all my relations, may we honor the Old Ones who preserved the Ancient Wisdom that offers a Way to our Spiritual Evolution. May we present ourselves ready to learn, giving thanks for the Wisdom we are about to receive through a new understanding of Forgiveness.

THE TRECENA OF WISDOM/CIB
1 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’ O’JJ)
Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.
Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign, enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons. (A good day to sit on a rock.)
Cherokee, Owl/U’GUKU’ O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes. Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative. Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.
NEW DAY KEEPERS: My sacred intention for the new Tzolk’in round is to offer more personal support to those who may want to learn more about ways to draw personal meaning from the calendar. I will be offering an Introductory Guided Course for Day Keepers in the near future. Contact me if this is something you would be interested in! Also, if you’d just like help identifying your Day Sign, I’m more than happy to help. Blessings, in lak’ech Debra (firstname.lastname@example.org)
