8 Night / AKBAL – Wisdom of Forgiveness

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

8 Night / AKBAL

8 Night / AKBAL

Akbal is the Bringer of the Dawn who dispels our fears of things hidden in the dark. Akbal carries the Voice of Spirit and speaks to us as a dream, an idea, or as intuition. Tone 8 brings momentum and forward movement to bring justice through harmony and balance. Tone 8 is the High Holy day of the trecena, considered the number of Pure Spirit.

This is also a Portal Day that magnifies our experience and brings a thinning of the veil. The purpose of the Wisdom/CIB trecena is to raise us to a new level of consciousness. Akbal can bring new light into the shadows of our unconscious thoughts. This is a day to pay attention to our Inner Voice.

As we become the Dreamer again, Akbal can also connect our intellect and imagination. We might be inspired by new ideas or see new solutions to a problem. Something that has been hidden or unknown can suddenly come to light.

GREEN DAY: 8 Night/AKBAL is Kin 203, a Portal Day that magnifies what is focused on. Portal Days are described as a thinning of the veil and opening to other dimensions. You may have more intense feelings. You or people around you may exhibit more sensitive behavior. You may experience an intuition or knowing.

Akbal can bring healing to our unconscious doubts and fears. Sometimes our shadow hides in the stories that define our lives. It may be hidden by blame to cover the thing we are afraid to see.

Our Creator would have us know, “Nothing is hidden from me. I see all the way back to your first disappointment. I saw that when your hopes were shattered, you never lost faith – even in the darkness, you kept on going. Even the Ancients walked this hard road of life. You are Worthy and you are Whole. I see You.”

To all my relations, may we be transformed through the dawn of a new awakening. May we see that we have never struggled alone in the darkness, and that through every trial the Creator saw through our failure to the Truth of our Sacred Intention.

in lak’ech, i am another you

THE TRECENA OF WISDOM/CIB

8 Night/AKBAL (Cherokee, HEARTH/O’YA)

Galactic Tone 8: Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eight. Eights carefully weigh all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement, “As above, so below”. From simplicity to infinity, the energy of Eight organizes all levels of creation. Some Eights are “Neat Freaks”.

Night/Akbal: Bringers of the Dawn. Dreamers who bring the new sun to clarify and illuminate the road of life. Thus the insecurities and doubts born of darkness of the sub-conscious mind are dispelled. These persons travel the Void. a place where nothing yet exists but all potential dwells, the womb of creation. From this void, Night persons bring forth new solutions and artistic inspiration. Night’s voyages of dreams build confidence and happiness with a sense of well being. If night does not bravely journey into the void they may find themselves wandering the darkness of self doubt and insecurity.

Cherokee, 1 Hearth/O’YA: Hearth’s symbol is the fire pit in the Center, velvet black as the night. The triangle in Orion. The M42 nebula (home of the Central race from the WingMakers) in the center of the triangle of Orion is the fire in the Hearth, also matching the Mayan. The Hearth is the Torchbearer who holds the light and warmth throughout the night. Belief is so strong that the surrounding elements become entrained to their rhythm and all resistance falls away. With respect and honor of intuition combined with knowledge this energy creates the magic of the center in this dimension. AKBAL-Night-Totem-OWL: Guardian of the Night Sun. Energies for the opening of mystic secrets, seeing through the masks of deception, trickery. High ability of discernment. Portals open to other worlds and dimensions for your learning and spiritual growth. Magical abilities are possible.

GREEN KIN: ELEMENT OF ETHER
8 Night/AKBAL is KIN 203, is a Portal Day that magnifies what is focused on and opens a channel to Spirit. You may have more intense feelings. You or people around you may exhibit more sensitive behavior. You may experience an intuition or knowing.

  1. Love your thoughts. 🙂 This question doesn’t have anything to do with this particular post, but I don’t know how else to reach you. lol You are into relaxation, and natural means of doing things (I am guessing by your path) Do you ever use clay dishes to burn anything like incense? I want to burn bay leaves, but don’t really know where to get the dish to use! Have I just totally confused you? lol

      • HEY! Good idea! Never thought of that. Just bought terra cotta plants to transplant my “money plants”. (Did not know you had to wash and soak them until I looked it up) But that is perfect! What else do you burn?

      • I burn sage and sweetgrass. Sage is for purification, and sweetgrass is traditionally burned after sage to fill up the empty places with love… that’s if you’re smudging. Cedar is a traditional smudge for women’s healing, and Copal is what the Maya burn. My favorite incense is “India Temple” – I just burn because I love the smell so much. 🙂

      • oH, should i? LOL Its what I most want to do, actually! I am working on some materials to share about ritual ceremony. And I am more than happy to have your comments on any topic too. I’m diving into this project this weekend – so you’re psychic too, huh? I was just writing post to tell people I am going to be behind in reading for a few days so I can work on some of these things. 🙂 blessings in lak’ech. BTW – I meant to tell you – you’ve been really been on a creative bent with your recipes… some real standouts. It’s so awesome that you have started your blog/interest at such an early age – just thinking where it could go. Debra

      • Awe thank you! I feel like I’ve been in a horrible slump. I can’t wait to read what you will be writing! Have a great weekend! PS. When buying sage is there some that are better than others?

      • Any sage is good sage. I was given some loose sage from Oklahoma that’s hard to burn – but smells so sweet. For every day I might just use a leaf off a white sage wand. There was all kinds of sage growing along the Columbia River when I first traveled out here. Cedar and sage are things I watch for in nature and if collected, ask permission and offer something – a piece of hair and a blessing. It’s cool to have something to burn that was given directly by the plant. 🙂 I wonder how you would search for aromatic plants native in your area?

      • Google I suppose? I was looking on Amazon, but there were tons of different kinds! I’ve started growing “money plants”, and burning bay leaves. Trying to get a tranquility, peace, and calm throughout the house. (We aren’t fighting or anything just very stressed.) We are open to any, and all, suggestions.

      • It’s appropriate to ask, who are you and what do you want. With so much stress around us, negative energy can come from outside of ourselves. We can acknowledge the energy, see if it holds anything worthy to learn, thank it, then order it to move on with a blessing. I ask Archangel Michael to escort away as I am smudging. When I do a full house smudge I follow the left wall all the way around inside of the house. A little cornmeal above the frame of your doors is a blessing for anyone coming and going from your home. The most important point is asking permission, recognizing the consciousness of the thing helping you. It can be as simple as thinking, thank you for helping me out… I want to bring purification and new light into my home. I’ll offer some home blessings.

      • What can you tell me about personality, sun, moon, and just over all energy that is affected by all the happenings of the earth and such. Does that make any sense?! Haha I’m going to need a hotline to you 😉
