1 Deer/MANIK – Path of Divine Purpose

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

1 Deer / MANIK

1 Deer / MANIK

Greetings Kin,

The Next 13-Days…

We start from a new beginning under the guidance of Deer/MANIK. As we have been transformed through a correspondence of Mind and Spirit, Deer can lead us to a Transformation that empowers us through a Sense of Purpose. As the Day Sign of the Mayan priest, we are led to Become God’s Hands in the world.

The MANIK glyph illustrates a Hand, another name for this Day Sign. The thumb and forefinger close the circuit of connection to the Creator. Tone 1 brings us into Unity as Deer/MANIK offers the way to find our Path to our Life’s Divine Purpose.

The Jaguar/IX trecena taught us something about walking our own path and finding our sense of direction from within. We find new strength as we learn to rely on our own Voice of Spirit. We don’t have to look outside ourselves for the Source of Divine Agency. We were each connected as a Spark of the Creator.

With the help of Deer/MANIK we can integrate the transformation brought by Jaguar/IX. The Holy Day of each trecena (Tone 8) is carried by the Day Sign who led the preceding trecena (Tone 1).  The Deer/MANIK trecena builds upon our new Strength of Spirit.

On Tone 5 of Empowerment, Monkey/CHUEN, will demonstrate the Power of Imagination. The Peak Day 6 Road/EB would have us hold a clear Vision of our Destiny. 7 Reed/BEN is our place of balance as our ever-present Channel to Spirit. And, on 8 Jaguar/IX, our recent effort in Sacred Intention, will receive the Full Reciprocity of Divine Justice.

Today, the Deer/MANIK brings the Spiritual Tools we can rely on for this journey. Deer lives its life as a pilgrimage of calculated movement. Deer is empowered by standing in silence, vigilantly aware of the landscape in every direction. Deer can teach us to rely on our Sense of Inner Knowing for the direction and timing of our movement.

Our Spiritual Tools are the many Ways we are given to remember the permanence of the Creator’s Presence, Support, and Grace. Identifying our own Spiritual Tools offers a way to maintain our balance through change.

Deer/MANIK is the keeper of every Spiritual Tool. We are called to courageously look within to draw our feelings of inadequacy out from the shadows to receive the Spiritual Tool to overcome them. This Way is a Spiritual Tool in itself, holding the power to transform every weakness into a strength.

Deer holds the power of Harmonic Resonance. As we become channels of Divine Love, we can express the Creator’s Unconditional Love as an Emanation of the Heart.

Tone 1 offers a new beginning with the intention of bringing a new inspiration. We can offer ourselves through the humility of a surrender – to see how we might serve as God’s Light to the World.

To all my relations, as the Priest, Deer offers us a demonstration of one who serves as the Hand of the Creator. May we be vigilant of our own landscape, so our movements are guided by a Higher Purpose. And, may we remember that when we open our heart to reveal our limitation, Deer/MANIK holds the Spiritual Tool to overcome the fear of our own illusions.

1 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.

How is your Spiritual path today?

I love to hear from you. Share your thoughts on the day, your Day Sign, or just say Hi!
