MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 6 is our final step before we reach the “top of the pyramid.” Tone 6 brings the energy of a “second wind” as we take on a pattern of movement that is compared to a great athlete in motion. We can think of how our first steps were carefully measured and tentative as we invested ourselves in an Intention. Now that we’ve been stabilized and empowered, our momentum can be applied to a rhythm and flow of movement.
Night/AKBAL is the Voice of Spirit that speaks to us in our Dreams. A communication from Spirit will inspire our greatest effort and offer potential for our most dynamic developments.
PEAK DAY: Today is the first Peak Day of the trecena. Peak days could be noted on our calendars as our best days for communications and personal accomplishments. Tones 6-9 are good days to schedule anything that would benefit from our Peak Performance.
The glyph illustrates curtains drawn aside to reveal a light in the darkness. AKBAL can help us tap into our Unknown Resources. AKBAL is a Day Sign of the West, the direction of our walk on the “hard road of life.” This is our daily journey into the unknown that brings new understanding and wisdom through our personal experiences of life. The West is also the place that engages our emotional responses. There’s potential for a Divine inspiration to touch our heart.
Mystical experiences are possible through a synergy of intelligence and intuition. A re-connection between our conscious/unconscious and left/right thinking amplifies our Spiritual Senses. AKBAL helps us see in the dark. Today is a day to pay attention to our Inner Voice and to make note of our fleeting thoughts and dreams.
As Tone 6 brings the intention to establish a pattern of movement, Akbal might guide us to proceed willingly, look for the light, and just keep going. We don’t have to measure every step when we learn to listen to our senses and intuition. As we seek our Highest “I Am” we can remember the answer is not found in a world of comparisons, but is an Unlimited Choice we Make from within.
Each of the Day Signs can guide us through a communion of Spirit, or through the experience of taking on their characteristics. AKBAL is one who is not afraid of the dark… who proceeds willing through every unknown, assured by the light it sees ahead. With courage AKBAL sheds its doubt and insecurity, and focuses instead on the ripeness of the moment.
Our Highest Performance will not be a test of speed, but one of endurance. When we are moving in the right direction, we ARE fulfilling our Divine Destiny. Our Experience of Living and Growing IS our Human Destiny. Loving each Experience is the Spiritual Destiny that will entrain the world to go along.
To all my relations, as we are asked to look at ourselves may we look for our own Light. Our work is a consideration of our Gifts, Talents and Blessings – the things we Love about ourselves. This is not a time for New Year’s resolution, but a time for choosing the parts of ourselves we would carry on a new journey. May we be present for an encouragement received as a Sense of Knowing that will inspire us to move forward with courage through the darkness of the unknown.

6 Night/AKBAL (Cherokee, Hearth/O’YA)
Galactic Tone 6: Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.
Night/Akbal: Bringers of the Dawn. Dreamers who bring the new sun to clarify and illuminate the road of life. Thus the insecurities and doubts born of darkness of the sub-conscious mind are dispelled. These persons travel the Void… a place where nothing yet exists but all potential dwells, the womb of creation. From this void, Night persons bring forth new solutions and artistic inspiration. Night’s voyages of dreams build confidence and happiness with a sense of well being. If night does not bravely journey into the void they may find themselves wandering the darkness of self doubt and insecurity.
Cherokee, Hearth/O’YA: Hearth’s symbol is the fire pit in the Center, velvet black as the night. The triangle in Orion. The M42 nebula (home of the Central race from the WingMakers) in the center of the triangle of Orion is the fire in the Hearth, also matching the Mayan. The Hearth is the Torchbearer who holds the light and warmth throughout the night.
