3 Flint / ETZNAB – Path of Higher Learning: Day 3

3 Flint / ETZNAB

Greetings Kin,

Tone 3 brings our first day of movement. When we take action on a Dream, it moves from the realm of Spirit into the Physical world. Tone 3 is a day for the dissemination of a new idea. What was a Spark of Inspiration becomes a Germinated Seed of Intention.

ETZNAB is a Day Sign that “wields the sword of truth so falsehoods can be cut away.” The Flint Knife is said to reveal truth that cuts to the bone. “Mirror” is another name for this Day Sign, representing the Truth that is perfectly reflected by an Obsidian Mirror. Through a gift of clarity, Flint is capable to separate Truth from Fiction.

Flint/ETZNAB can present us with the temptation to “act out of character.” Whatever action we take that is not aligned with our own Truth, is likely to be exposed and subject to immediate consequences. Flint reveals the truth of our highest integrity. What we call “acting out of character” is a reflection of the Truth we denied as fiction.

Flint’s Truth is usually unexpected. Flint is said to foil the evil plots of others. Flint also foils the unseen fears of our Shadow. The purpose behind Flint’s revelations of Truth is to clear away what would stand in our way of manifesting new Wisdom.

Flint is said to deliver truth like a “lightning strike.” What Flint reveals is likely to make a lasting impression. I’ve come to expect the unexpected on days led by this Day Sign. I have a half-dozen stories of “out of character” experiences that happened on the day of Flint. For example, a Flint day we could all remember for making an impression was November 8, 2016. On the day of the U.S. Presidential Election, we were presented with an unexpected Truth about ourselves.

On a Path to Higher Learning, Flint reveals the necessity of seeing things as they really are. Moving forward with the willingness to face the Truth is fundamental to the process of gaining Wisdom. In order to learn from our Experience, we must see it for what it is. Most often, the obstacles hardest for us to see are the ones we present to our Self. Flint’s knife is guided to our deepest wounds. The surgery can be painful, but is vital to the discernment that will enable us move forward.

The CIB trecena offers the guidance of the Old Ones who would encourage us to see that a realization of “hard truth” is, in fact, a Great Blessing. We could receive Flint as a turning point in our healing and recovery.

The pain of “hard truth” is always worst on the day of surgery. We can find it easy to reflect on past mistakes that were all caused by the illusion. Only in time, will the evidence of our change be apparent to those who may have suffered at our expense. Truth requires our Humility and CIB reminds us that the Way to Higher Consciousness is only possible by forgiveness.

Akbal taught us something about the paradox of Spirit… giving up to win, dying to be reborn. Flint offers us a new strength by revealing our weakness. The Old Ones can help us to remember that there’s nothing we need to defend. As students willing to learn, we are already Perfect in our Intention.  The discovery of Truth is our first and most important step in the movement of acquiring Wisdom.

Our recovery time is accelerated by a positive attitude that acknowledges new Truth as the beginning of a healing process. Flint’s knife can remove the thing that stood in the way of a full recovery. Our Integrity is still intact by an Intention to hold ourselves accountable to the Truth we are able to see.

To all my relations, may we accept the challenges of acquiring Wisdom. May we see our accomplishment will be made in small but measured steps of understanding. May we see that forgiving our past mistakes is our only way to move forward. And, may we be grateful for every Truth revealed, regardless of the initial pain of our discovery. May we recognize Truth as the Turning Point of a recovery that makes it possible to move forward in Integrity. Above all, may we remember the Truth of the Creator’s Unconditional Love.

In lak’ech, I am another you

3 Flint/ETZNAB (Cherokee, Flint/DAWI’SGALA)

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.

Flint/ETZNAB: Mirror of reality. As a struck flint, these persons are the divine sparks of intelligence. Flint’s innate abilities are utilized to discriminate emotions from fact. Flint persons stand tireless to protect, defend, or cure others by personal sacrifice. By courageously wielding the sword of truth, falsehoods are cut away. Flints, it was said, can receive information on inter-personal troubles or evil plots of others by reflecting in an obsidian mirror. Their valiant service as warriors of the truth must be impeccable or they will experience sufferings of accidents, misunderstandings and gossip.

Cherokee, Flint/DAWI’SGALA: Flint’s symbol is Chawa’ or Castor of the Castor and Pollux Twins in Gemini.  Castor appears in the evening personifying darkness. Pollux then appears in the east at dawn to end the night. Totem is a Flint Knife.  Flint spirit shone a light like the sun and gave the people the Sacred Venus Calendar, fixed the days and promised to watch over the earthlings.  A flint person endeavors to keep that covenant.  Opener of the Way, a creator, innovator, stretches the mind to outside limits of capabilities. Changes the static to the dynamic.  Brings about change, often through separation and destruction.  Beams the Stellar Ray of Truth to Earth as a crystal sword cast down along the path of a lightning flash. The transformer brings things to a head and wipes the slate clean.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page.
