2 Deer / MANIK – Delivery of Newborn Spirit: Day 2 of 13

2 Deer / MANIK

Greetings Kin,

Tone 2 of Duality presents us with choices for the consideration of a new Sacred Intention. CIMI presents us with a trecena of Major Life Change. Deer/MANIK is our guide, helping us to choose an Intention for direction through this time of change.

Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of Spiritual Tools. Deer is said to be the keeper of every Spiritual Tool its ever used. Its most-used Spiritual Tool is Vigilance. MANIK is the Deer that stands in its own Truth, the Day Sign of the Mayan priest who serves as the Hand of God.

Tone 2 is often experienced with some vulnerability. We are separated from the Unity of the Whole to find Our Own Way. Tone 2 brings the energy of Duality. Human arrives at understanding through comparison. As we are inclined to compare ourselves to others on Tone 2, we may long to be reconnected to the whole – as we see how we are “different.”

This is a day for self reflection, as we will stand in our Truth to discern our own way forward to weather the Chaos of a Major Life Change.

Deer’s most important guidance for Tone 2 would be to stand still in vigilant attention. Deer stands in silence as it vigilantly observes the landscape in all four directions. Deer’s movements are calculated. Following the example of Deer, we are guided to move decisively and with purpose. As the priest, we are charged to stand in the truth of our own integrity as an example to others. We are guided to serve as a Hand of God.

Deer/MANIK offers the Hand of Divine Agency. The glyph illustrates a hand with the forefinger and thumb grasping a line that completes the circuit to our Source of Spiritual Power. We will be guided through our Connection to Divine Power.

As a Day Sign of the West, our thought may be drawn to our own “hard road of life.” We may come face-to-face with our Self and see ourselves lacking. The CIMI trecena emphasizes the importance of standing in our strength through change, and brings the Day Sign that can resolve every weakness. Deer encourages us to see our limitations so that it can offer the Spiritual Tool to overcome it.

Deer/MANIK calls us to rely on Divine Guidance. We are called to align ourselves with a Divine Intention. Through the humility of a surrender, we allow the Creator to guide us toward an Intention of Divine Priority, versus a plan conceived by the fear of our ego. MANIK is the Hand of God, and brings the Gifts that are offered by an Agent of the Creator. Seeking Divine Guidance to measure one step at a time, we will be empowered to lean into the winds of change.

Deer reminds us to gather ALL our Spiritual Tools together. Our Highest Spiritual Tools are the Truths of Spirit that we have learned. The past trecenas have led us to Know the Truth of our own Divinity, the Gift of the Creator that would cover the weakness of our own Human Nature. When we don’t know what to do, we only have to Stand Silently in Faith of this Truth. This is only one tool. We could think of the tools we’ve used – the Wisdom of Truth, Ritual and Ceremony, and Meditation.

Deer/MANIK also holds the power of Harmonic Resonance. This is a silent communication through the Vibration of Pure Love. During times of change, we often exhibit the behaviors of our Lower Human Nature. This is a time to rise above our own discomfort of change to Serve the Whole with Steadfast Love.

Yesterday, the weather forecast for Florida was 90 degrees (F) with 70% humidity. I remember summer days in Kansas humidity much less than that. Hairdos flopped from instant perspiration, just making the trip from the back door to the car, and door handles were nearly too hot to touch.

The NY Times reports that Hurricane Irma left as many as 15 million people in the state without electricity. While some homes may see power restored within days, utilities said that other customers may have to wait weeks. “This is going to be a very, very lengthy restoration, arguably the longest and most complex in U.S. history,” said Robert Gould, vice president for communications at Florida Power & Light. My first thoughts were about the loss of homes, yet just as great is the challenge of existing in this environment. The heat and humidity hold potential for short-tempers and violence as the days or weeks wear on.

Faced with such Major Life Change, our chaos will produce its own discomfort. Deer/MANIK would offer prayers at the Altar for the Strength to stand in Integrity. This is a time to stand in the company of our Spirit Family. CIMI didn’t mean for us to be alone. We can discern our Family by those who offer an equal exchange. As we realize our darkness, they will forgive us, as we forgive them. We must gravitate to those who will stand with us, and distance ourselves from energies out of balance. We can Love and Forgive, to Discern how we would Stand in our Truth. In the Threshold of a Birth, only our Closest Family would have the Nearness of our Intimacy.

To all my relations, we are called to offer our Prayers and Be the Mayan Priest who surveys the landscape of change. May we look beyond our own needs to others who may be suffering. We will find our own Peace, by supporting others. May we consider our own weaknesses – our lower impulses that come up when we’re under stress. As we share these at the altar, Deer/MANIK can offer us a Spiritual Tool of intervention relayed directly from the Creator’s Hand. May we be vigilant with our thoughts, and offer forbearance to others. We never know what someone else may be going through that causes them to act the way they do. When WE break down, we hope that others would be forgiving. This is our highest way to serve others. May we pray that a Higher Spirit watches over those who are in such desperate circumstances, and for Divine Intervene for those living in harms way. May we stand in the Integrity of our Highest Love so that through our own vibration, we extend the Creator’s Unconditional Love. And may we be given the Strength of Endurance.

in lak’ech, i am another you

2 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
